Rich Table Ratings and Reviews
Absolutely fantastic experience. We were skeptical upon walking in. The ambiance didn’t match what we expected of a Michelin Star place. But we were quickly proved wrong. The staff is on the top of their game and the food and experience really shows that. Pray that they have the off menu live scallop special when you go. It’s one of the best dishes we’ve ever eaten. The sole is unreal. The small bites were awesome and cheap. Dessert and the little amuse-bouches between dishes stand as amazing bites on their own. Our waitress was awesome but we probably had 4 or 5 people talk to us and/or bring us things and bus dishes. You can’t empty a plate or glass and set it down for more than 30 seconds without a staff member snatching it up. We went for our anniversary and we’re very happy with the choice. The light casual atmosphere and Misfits and Bowie on the radio was a nice change of pace from the typical stuffy Michelin Star joints. I think it really let’s you enjoy the food and worry less about the surroundings and distractions. These folks just got a Michelin Star and it’s very evident why.
Rich Table continues to be my favorite special occasion restaurant in San Francisco. Totally worth the weeks-ahead reservation. My family of four (including me) had a bottle of wine and two pastas, two mains, one appetizer and two small bites and were more than stuffed for less than $300 before tip. The time I went before was $244 including tip for a romantic dinner for two but we were hungrier that evening. I find the food to be incredibly high value for the craftsmanship and quality!
This is the best restaurant in San Francisco. Of all the restaurants in San Francisco, zero of them are better than this restaurant.
Sometimes, when I eat at other restaurants, I pretend I’m at Rich Table, until the food comes, then reality quickly sets in. Why you ask? Because that restaurant’s food is not the same as Rich Tables’.
In summation, this restaurant is the best restaurant in San Francisco.
I cannot compliment Rich Table enough! The ambiance is casual, but the food is seriously good! Having a meal here is a delight - from the efficient, knowledgeable and friendly service to the expertly prepared dishes! We shared 1 dish from each part of the menu - from the dried porcini doughnuts to the calicreamsicle dessert and every dish was outstanding. We dine at many outstanding restaurants in SFO and abroad and from our experience, the food and service at Rich Table can stand alongside restaurants with white table cloths and michelin stars. If you have not experienced Rich Table, it will become a favorite once you do.
This was an outstanding experience from beginning to end. We genuinely loved every bite. The dishes were creative and well executed and delicious, from the three amuse bouches through the rib eye main course, which was expertly prepared. This is a restaurant that’s at the top of its game, but was exceptionally welcoming. I felt valued and appreciated as a diner, and that’s not always the case when patronizing a nationally ranked place. Highly recommended.
Had a reservation for 9:15 and received a text an hour early that we could be seated sooner which was nice. The reataraunt is noisy but no too much that I couldn’t hear my husband across from me. We did the chefs tasting with wine pairing and everything we had was excellent. Definitely left full from the amount of food and wine pours were generous. Service was great too. Overall a good experience and would return again.
Porcini doughnuts are delish! Charging for the first round of bread which is two slices - 1.25 a slice - why?! Second round okay but first?
Ran out of porterhouse steak and served skirt steak instead. Cooked perfectly but a chewier piece of meat and most of the flavor came from the bearnaise sauce - couldn’t taste the crab in the sauce.
The flavors and innovative plates are worth trying it again. Most everything can be split to make it easier to try a variety of dishes.
My wife and I were visiting from out of town and got a late reservation because that’s all that was left. We got there awhile early and they were able to seat us quickly even though it was very busy. Every single item we ordered was delish. The staff from front of house to waiters to guys cleaning up were so nice. It was one of my favorite SF eating experiences.
This was my second time visiting Rich Table, the first time we got a last-minute reservation and grabbed a seat at the bar....food was delicious and we knew we had to go back. This time we got a table and splurged on the tasting menu. It did not disappoint! My favorite bite was the chicken liver black sesame macaron...I'm still tasting it right now. We enjoyed the fact that there were two different dishes for some of the courses, so if you're ok with sharing with whoever you're with, it's perfect because you get to try more dishes. For me...variety is the spice of life...especially at a restaurant where you trust the chef to come up with fun and satisfying flavor combinations as I now do with Evan & Sarah Rich. Will be on my list for regular return visits.
Get the tasting menu and be hungry. It was a lot of really good food. Service was excellent. They are a well oiled service machine! I would happily go back. Probably groups of four are optimal and two works equally well. Also be prepared for lots of subtle sea food.
