We were eager to try Rich Table because of all the great reviews we had read. Getting dinner reservations was tricky and credit card was needed to confirm. Probably had too high expectations for the restaurant, so I was rather disappointed by our dining experience. I do highly recommend the "Risky Business" cocktail, an orange flavored gin martini. The sardine chips and porcini doughnuts were also delicious, but the beef wontons were too oily in a chili sauce. The pasta dishes were tasty, but I was disappointed that the same pasta noodles were used for 2 separate dishes. I also was not overwhelmed by the hamachi crudo or beef tartare. Overall, I think the food is high quality, but nothing was outstanding. The service was excellent, but seats were uncomfortable, hard benches, and it was a bit noisy. I would next time rather have cocktails and appetizers only at the bar.
this was a wonderful meal as usual. the asparagus appetizer was some of the best asparagus we have ever eaten. Kudos also goes to the chocolate pannacotta. the service was appropriately attentive and helpful. And we were out in plenty of time for our 7:30 show. this is a cozy, not stuffy, Michelin one star
We dined pre-performance at Rich Table on a recent Friday night. Dining at Rich Table requires planning (need to book as soon as reservations are available one month in advance); confirming the reservation is problematic (you never talk to a real live person, just leave a message and hope it is received.) But once inside, all hassles disappear. The staff and ambiance are friendly and welcoming; the playlist features my personal favorites (lots of Grateful Dead); and the food is an incredible mix of experimental California cuisine. We started with porcini doughnuts with raclette (don’t miss them); followed by lovely spring vegetable salads. The beef agnolotti was a bit spicy but the halibut in a miso broth was incredible. The coconut shave ice for dessert was a light way to end the meal. Wine staff helped us select an incredible Calderara Sottano from Etna in Sicily. The meal more than made up for the difficulties in securing and confirming the reservation.
Loved everything about it!
Great tasting food with tons of flavor. Clear vision of food manifested well. Service was attentive but not annoying. Staff seemed genuinely nice and invested. Ambiance was lively and jovial. Enjoyed it a lot. Fun!
Best restaurant in the hood. The food and service always delivers. Keep it up badass people.
Leisurely dinner with friends made special by knowledgeable and helpful server and the most fresh and delicious menu items cooked to perfection. Enhanced by that perfect bottle of wine.
Perfection every time. I could eat here every day.
Love the simple ingredients combined in innovative ways. The tonarelli is divine. A can not go wrong dining experience.
We had a simply wonderful dining experience at Rich Table. Fantastic food and service! Don’t miss the porcini doughnuts - delicious!
Truly the best food experience I’ve ever had. Beautiful food, outstanding, unpretentious service, and an understated, elegant space. I can’t wait to go back.
The food at Rich table was good - they have some creative dishes on the menu . Our favourite was the sea urchin pasta - it was awesome. The wontons were good too. My husband loved his pork. Service is a bit impersonal and you are almost eating with your neighbors - we went through our neighbors’ journey of finding the perfect wine for the night. We were visiting SF and this seems like a very SF thing - new restaurants touting a new hip vibe and it probably lasts half a year. Rich table was definitely better than some of the other restaurants we tried but needs to add a bit more of personality through its service to make people want to visit again, and again.
I always enjoy an evening at Rich Table. Servers and food the Best in SF. My go-to spot for pre symphony and SF Jazz performances. Great spot for locals too
What a great meal to celebrate our anniversary! There was a handwritten note at the table welcoming us.
Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. The food was delicious; the ribeye steak was outstanding!
What a great dining experience! Everything was so impeccably prepared and presented. The food was quite remarkable, Porcini Doughnuts and Sardine Chips were so incredibly fun and satisfying. Loved the Agua Chile Hamachi Collar. The Smoked Beef Agnolotti were dreamy. You've got to try the 21-day Aged Ribeye with Robuchon Potatoes.
Angelyne took such great care of us on our first visit to Rich Table, we'll be running back for more.
It takes some planning to get a spot at Rich Table, it's very crowded, and pretty pricey. But, oh, so worth it! Every single thing we ate was delicious and prepared with exceptional care and ingenuity. Our server was very knowledgeable and helped us select various items to share. I look forward to returning.
Service was on point. Food was incredible. Enjoyed our dining experience.
The food was tasty without being pretentious. The service was great!
So disappointed. This was just average. I totally regret cancelling my Gary Danko reservation to give this spot a shot. This is not a 4.8 restaurant. I would say probably closer to 4.5. The food was tasty, but was not dynamic. This was a carb and protein paradise. Everything was white or brown with just leaves of green thrown on for decoration. My rib eye was just the rib eye and a potato side dish. I don’t mind this when there is an option to order a side of vegetables, but we were swiftly told “no” to that. I think the only vegetable they had in the house was asparagus for their asparagus dish. The ambiance is terrible. I get the farmhouse feel, but at least give Us some hey to sit on. Be prepared to sit on flat wood. They obviously don’t want you staying long. If you’re looking to settle in for a cozy dinner, this is not the spot. The ambiance is more along the lines of bustling cafe. Too many options in the city to go back here.
Excellent food and our server was lovely! I was a bit annoyed that I called two days before to see if we could add another person to our party... they didn’t call back for two days and when they finally did, told me they couldn’t accommodate the request. When we got to the restaurant, the table we sat at most definitely could have fit another person (and not just squeezed in next to one of us.) The food was good but with a bit of a haughty attitude from some of the employees... I would consider going back but it’s not the most approachable.
Very special restaurant. Everything about it was memorable! Thanks!
A wonderful, creative tasting menu. I was consistently impressed. I thought the western-style items were better executed than the asian inspired courses, but all were delicious.
The waitstaff encourage ordering far more food then you want. In addition to leaving you feeling stuffed, it drives the bill very high. And we had the sense that the bites and smaller plates are actually better and more inventive than the entrees.
Food was incredible and service was amazing, so inspiring and original and delicious the world needs to try this
Great food and great service. Definitely one of the best in the Civic Center area if not the whole city.
Loved it. Best server ever!
Lovely... though our werv
Food and service was fantastic. Playlist was bombass. Thanks Chef.
Salty, greasy American food with some touch of mediocre-poor Japanese elements.
We had an excellent meal! The rib eye was one of the best I’ve ever had, and the service was top notch.
Beyond amazing service! The food is creative and unique. Chefs tasting menu is a must. Can’t wait to come back!
I love this place! Go there every chance I get. It's a little difficult to get a reservation but absolutely worth it.
Despite being late for the reservation due to traffic, the host was gracious and accommodating.
The black cod with jalapeño -new to the menu -was the best I have ever had. Can’t wait to go back and order it again!
A very loud place with very little charm. Some dishes are good like the chicken foie but some others are too salty or have nothing special. Very surprising it has a Michelin star!!
If you ask for the chef pick menu you will find it's not a tasting menu; the chef will serve each person of the table whatever he wishes. They make you wait eternally between courses and they charge as if it was luxurious. The place is vulgar and the food is not special at all. Shouldn't have a Michelin star!!!
Wonderful service and interesting flavors. I only wish there were a few more wines by the glass.
Vastly overrated and overpriced. Very few vegetables and tiny portions. The pasta with sea urchin only had hint if sea urchin. The server was clueless about his sweet the chocolate dessert was. We had to be out by 545. It didn’t get out til 6
Amazing as always
Great service very attentive staff food was amazing The only bad thing I can say is the drinks were pretty light on the alcoho
Creative and tasty options
