I'm Brazilian, so I had low expectation. It was a pleasant surprise that I was wrong. The dishes are authentic, there is a good choice of Brazilian dishes, and they are well prepared. Service is very friendly and competent. The place is cozy. It is too bad that they close early (last available reservation at 8).

Very much enjoyed this restaurant. Went in for Friday night dinner before a Broadway show, so it was early. We were the only customers at first, but it filled up quickly. We sat at the bar for drinks to start. The sangria was excellent. Then we were sat for dinner. Everything was amazing. Can’t wait to go back.

Absolutely one of the best dining experiences! Super Bowl Sunday, we show up and we are the only ones in the place and they stayed open for us, which we thought was great customer service! Food and cocktails were outstanding, would definitely recommend and would go back in a heartbeat!

Nice place, but very small — we were not seated until everyone arrived, but “everyone” was three people and we were two. That meant sitting at the bar for a bit, which was okay, but seemed unnecessary, since the place was almost empty and we had a reservation. The service was friendly once we were seated. Drinks and food were excellent and definitely worth it if you’re interested in Brazilian food and are on the West Side.

I had heard that Rice X Beans was good, but it was great! My dining companion and I ordered a few dishes because we wanted to try things. Our plan to take some of it home was foiled by how damn delicious everything tasted. Not a single morsel made it into a take-away container. For starters, we had the cod croquettes and the puffed cheesy bread. The latter were like savory munchkins from Dunkin Donuts, so tasty and a lovely, yielding texture. The croquettes were spot on: crisp exterior, full bodied cod flavor inside, and a wonderful, creamy mouth feel that was augmented by an aioli-type dipping sauce. For entrees, I ordered the feijoada for two. I have a big appetite, and I wanted my companion to taste it. It was spectacular, and again, the plan was to bring some home. So much for that because it was the best feijoada I've had since a trip to Brazil in 2014. It was rich and unctuous, with a blend of smoked and fresh meats that danced precisely to the beat that the perfectly cooked black beans were playing. My partner had a shrimp dish. I didn't taste it and so I can't speak to the flavors, but it smelled divine and she loved it. We were completely satiated, but felt like we had to try a dessert based on the how good everything else was. We shared a coconut pudding that we liked very much. I wish it wasn't fresh from the fridge because I think the coolness of the pudding may have masked some of the nuance of the dish. Even with that, however, we enjoyed it immensely. The coconut had a perfect bite to it, like an al dente pasta. The sweetness was managed extremely skillfully, and we ate the whole thing. We also had a few cocktails. I went with Brazilian standards, a caipirinha and a mojito. My partner had a mango caipirinha and a wine. The drinks were perfectly made, balanced just right. We will definitely return to Rice X Beans, and we've already told four sets of friends about it. It's an absolute gem in Hell's Kitchen.

The food was well presented and unbelievably tasty. Portions were generous and their was equal care given to the sides and entrees. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, the manager in particular knew the plates well and was super helpful. All in all one of the nicest meals out in a very long time and I look forward to returning.

I’m trying to make a reservation for this Friday evening at 7pm but now I have to show my credit card before. I always made reservations without my card and never fail to show up on time over there. Why do I have to give my credit card to make a reservation?

The food and drinks were amazing. Cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The Brazilian drinks were awesome as well. Stick to the traditional Brazilian beer and cocktails. On Valentines Day there was live music. The musicians really brought their energy and personality to Rice X Beans.

The food at this restaurant was amazing! I was hoping the food would be good but it went above and beyond my expectations. We enjoyed the steak dinner and also had two different empanadas. The beef empanadas were my favorite! The meat was really well seasoned and cooked to perfection.
