We had a party with ages ranging from 7 - 76, and everyone was very happy with their dinner.
We were reminded of our family trip to Italy last summer. we'll be back.
I have been to Ricardo’s two times, most recently for Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend, and it was lovely! The risotto is my favorite dish and it is absolutely exquisite. I’ve never ordered a bad thing from this restaurant. The service was pretty fast, but our waitress did keep coming over literally every two minutes to check on us which made it a bit harder to relax and enjoy our date and meal together.
This is the second year that my family and I have gone to Ricardo's on our annual Holiday Boston trip. The food and service is excellent and we love the location.
Disappointing experience. Had a 730 reservation. Table was not ready. After about a 20 minute wait, we were put upstairs. Mistake! Upstairs was full of large parties. Took a half hour to bring our drink order and another to bring our appetizers, which were cold by the time they arrived. Dinner did arrive shortly after and was hot, but another half hour ordeal to get the check. Definitely won't be back
Highly recommended, but highly disappointed. Still searching for that awesome Italian dinner in Boston and this wasn’t it
Gluten-free options available including gluten-free pasta. Great sangria and excellent food. Would highly recommend!!!
Got a reservation at Riccardo’s last minute for a dinner with friends. Service was slow - waited about 45 minutes for appetizers that never came. Instead our dinners were brought out first & one meal in our party was wrong so we had to wait for that to be corrected. Food was just OK- especially for the price. With all the other options in the area, we won’t be returning.
Good and service was excellent even the kids liked it.
this restaurant is depressing. we all said it was like we were at the lunch after someones funeral.
We have been to Riccardo's in the past and knew it would be a nice time. Everything was as expected with two exceptions. Food was good but everyone at our table mentioned that each plate lacked seasoning. Not a big thing but it was mentioned. And the second remark is while the place is noisy and lively there was an incident with the owners son yelling at the waitstaff. Very unusual in such a friendly place and not professional.
I would recommend Riccardo's to friends and we will go back.
Orlando was an amazing waiter!
There were 8 women for dinner. We had fantastic meals. Staff was very friendly. Water was never empty. Only drawback - meals were not served all at once. They delivered 3-4 meals right away and then they came out one at a time after that. Otherwise it was a great experience.
Excellent Italian food, fine dining, affordable, great atmosphere. Everyone in our party loved their entrees. Staff was pleasant, great service. A thumbs up!
Noisy, slow service. Mediocre food. Just don't go.
We came in to celebrate our son’s 21st birthday. The food was beyond delicious and the ambiance was exactly how I remember my grandmother’s kitchen — happy and upbeat! Definitely deserves a return visit soon!
Visited Ricardos on a busy Saturday night. We had a good dinner, not excellent but good. The restaurant is family owned, food was authentic & tasty, only complaint was that it felt a bit like a factory. The restaurant over booked reservations, making for waits even with a reservation, and servers were stretched to be able to provide great service, but that said, we really enjoyed the meal and had a great night!
There were 18 in our party and we were seated in an upstairs room with two other large groups. The seating was very comfortable. The waiter allowed us to take our time which was very nice as we had a lot of time to catch up with each other. The room was noisy, but manageable, we could easily speak with the 4-5 people sitting closest to us. The food was good and the price was excellent.
Just steps off the craziness of the North End - Was a very good meal for the family. Fried Mozzarella was excellent, Chicken Parm was up there and the sauce was excellent, multiple pieces of excellent bread was needed to clean the plate. Service was good and nice view of Paul Revere's house.
We where finishing up our dinner and requested our check . The owner or manager was shouting at one of the waitresses as she didn't know how to close the windows in preparation for closing , he really did make a point of talking to her like she was stupid .we left with Not a good overall impression.
Vacation - made reservation on open table. Got there early and informed host we were there. Did not get notified when our table was ready. Inquired about it 5 minutes after reservation time and were told our table was given away. Took 30 additional minutes to seat us.
The food was excellent. The lobster ravioli, chicken parm and meatballs never disappoint. One of our guests asked the chef to "create something vegetarian" and we as very happy with meal.
the food took over an hour and was not great compared to other north end restaurants.
Go for the fried mozzarella. An excellent appetizer. Terrific fettucine Alfredo. I enjoyed my lemon haddock. I think there are better places in the North End for gnocchi but the diner in our party was quite satisfied.
I knew i wanted to go to North End. Glad I made reservations on OpenTable an hour before our dinner time. When we got there, it was 45 minute wait... but not for us!!!
Wait staff amazing & friendly!!! Food & wine were outstanding!
Long wait for service, but very good meal and lots of choices.
Service by Orlando was excellent! He made our anniversary dinner relaxing and enjoyable. Food was outstanding!
We chose Ricardo's based on the recommendation from a friend. We were in town for a work conference.
Our waiter, Orlando, was a lovely older man who knew how to flirt with us ladies in an appropriate manner :) He made sure to get our names and remembered them the whole time. He was also great with drink and food suggestions. Our meals were fantastic and generously portioned.
My one small complaint is the homemade tiramisu for $9 was quite small and really didn't seem homemade.
All in all, I would certainly visit again!
Thank you for a wonderful meal. Mike was very attentive and had excellent food selections for us. We Loved returning to Ricardo's on the North End, as they never disappoint. Everything was superb.
Drove in from Maine just to eat the best Italian. We hadn't been there in years and we were not disappointed!
Awesome food. Authentic Italian.
Can't wait to return.
Great food but a bit understaffed. Long wait but good company makes that a non issue
I arrived with my party of 3 at 7:15 for a 7:30pm reservation and watched people without reservations be sat before me. I was finally seated at 7:50 and ordered at 8pm. One glass of wine and our entrees at the same time were ordered, no appetizers. By 9pm we began asking where our food was. Other tables that were seated after us had gotten drinks, apps and entrees and we still hadn't received anything but the 1 glass of wine. Excuses were made, no apologies and at 9:15 the owner finally came over and BLAMED US for the wait because we didn't order appetizers! We were given more excuses and at 9:30 - an hour and 40 minutes after being seated (an hour and half after ordering) we finally got up and left without any signs of our food in sight! I will never be back and I will never recommend to another!
The experience was mixed. Dry bread to start butceas replaced with fresh. Caprese was average--fresh greens were nice. Shrimp pasta was very good, fresh shrimp, nice sauce. Cannoli not worth $8. Service was ok. Wine was wrong temp for red. Better restaurants abound in North End.
Dined on 7/9/17. In sum, a good restaurant, though I would go to others in the North End first. All in our party of adults and kids enjoyed their food. Wine list was good, though there were two at the table which caused some confusion when ordering. Stand-out negative was the attitude of our waitress, she was very snippy when we asked the simplest of questions. For example, we were a party of nine, but the bread basket had only eight pieces. When I politely pointed that out and asked for one more piece, she didn't address me but instead said to the back-waiter, "They want more bread" and then walked away. Other wait staff were very nice. Also, it was a hot day and we were sat in a corner away from the windows. There was plenty of room to seat us with more air flow. We didn't ask to be reseated because we were a larger party with kids and didn't feel like making a fuss. Also, make sure to note you book through Open Table. The hostess did not note as such and we received a "no-show" email from OT. The food was good and a bit less money than some of the Hanover St. restaurants so I would give it another try.
The service was incredibly slow. We were there for over 2 hours. We ordered a bottle of wine and it was served hot. Appetizers came at different times. 40 minutes between courses. We were never even asked about coffee or dessert.
Great food, seated right away with reservation, nice ambiance but a little dated. Good value and staff was helpful, prompt and friendly
Went here with my out-of-town family as a group of 9. Great service, but the food was mediocre. On the other hand, it was relatively quiet and they could seat all of us at 8pm on a Friday night.
This place is not open for lunch, don't get fooled by the reservationes availability
I love the atmosphere at Riccardo's, especially in the warm weather when the windows are open. The food is outstanding and service is great.
Although Riccardo's is a favorite for us in the North End, we were surprised, as we went recently that we felt very rushed. The food was very good as always, but we felt hurried from start to finish.
