Great vibe but our waiter was MIA for most of the meal. Every time he showed up he spoke so fast that he was not legible. He was a young wanna-be actor type who didn't seem to care but the older server or assistant waiter was great and tried to make it a great dining experience. Our waiter was not worth the tip.
The actual entrees and appetizers were unexceptional. The service was very stressed and one appetizer came out wrong. When the right grilled octopus appetizer did come out it was presented with cocktail sauce - not particularly authentic or delicious. The cocktails and wine were limited but OK. Our table was under a stair next to the coat rack - not very appealing. Parking in the North End is ridiculously expensive and the meal was too expensive for the value received.
Delightful sidewalk patio, away from the bustle of Hanover but lively. The food is very traditional, well prepared, and quite reasonably priced. The service is excellent and the choices of both food and wine are plentiful. We'll be back!
OpenTable error of 11am reservation created an unfortunate conflict, since restaurant does not open until 11:30. Staff was gracious and manager handled situation professionally. Our server, Vanessa, was very kind and enjoyable to talk with! I look forward to visiting this gem of a location at a different time to savor the Italian flavors I crave!
We loved having our Easter dinner at Riccardo’s! The chicken parmesan was amazing!!
Holiday dinners, everything is as great
Service and food was fantastic! Can't wait to go back!
Celebrated our daughter’s birthday. Food and service were outstanding!
This was one of the best experiences on our recent trip to Boston. My wife had the stuffed veal chop and she said it was melt in your mouth phenomenal. So tender you don’t need a knife.I had the stuffed pork loin and was very impressed. Great staff and great location. We will be back soon!
Loved the food
Love this restaurant. Service was amazing and food was awesome. Going back soon without a doubt!
They were on top of us the whole time the food was over cooked or not with a lot of flavor. the wine was good and reasonably priced
Are you kidding? They were closed when we got there! They didn’t even call us to say they were going to close. Uber wait-times were over 20 minutes. Thank goodness Villa Francesca nearby was open and it was really great— they were really great..
Excellent place with good prices
They went above and beyond for our kids and we had the best time!
Seafood pasta was too liquid, fettuccine was over cooked, shrimp smelled weird. Sangria did not have alcohol lol - ravioli is literally 4 raviolis on the plate.
Expected a lot from a highly reviewed restaurant and was VERY disappointed. They did not follow reservations and sat people randomly as they came in. The food was not good at all and way overpriced. Bruschetta was covered in garlic powder and the seafood was rubbery and cold.
Randomly blasted music so loud out of nowhere in the middle of dinner and was definitely not COVID safe (owner and host not wearing a mask, way over capacity, hoards of people coming in without masks to drink). Servers seemed to be doing their best in their situation, but would never recommend this place. Upset over the complete waste of money.
Outstanding service, even better food quality. Riccardo’s is amazing
Nice little place in the north end — food was good & service was prompt. Ambiance was classic 🇮🇹 Only complaint was our mojitos were super plain/didn’t have a lot of flavor.
Had so much fun!!! Food was delicious and perfectly portioned and the ambiance was awesome!
Great service - waiter was very attentive. Overall happy atmosphere. Food was average for a North End restaurant. It was noisy and a bit crowded. Louder hip-hop music after 930pm for younger crowd that came in, which is understandable given limited options due to pandemic.
A lovely place we randomly found via open table when visiting Boston. Everything we ordered was lovely and the staff was courteous and kind.
Excellent service and delicious food.
We had a great experience at Riccardos. We were seated right away, and the staff was very attentive. The food was good, everyone in our party enjoyed what they got. I would say only (slight) complain is my dinner- the veal Marsala was tasty but it came chopped up and it could use more sauce- I would’ve preferred a veal filet with the sauce on top. But it tasted great so overall I enjoyed it! The fresh bread was amazing!
Very nice place, food was fresh. Very reasonable.
Honestly, I was scared of how weird the vibe was in this restaurant. We left after 10 minutes and didn't order a single thing because of how pushy the servers were. The table was an outdoor metal table and felt uncomfortable. This review reflects more on the owner than any of the workers themselves. Get chef Ramsey in there now rip. Seriously though don't go here if you're in the north end. This restaurant is a poor reflection of the north ends unique charm. The north end is the goat, this restaurant is the woat. Riccardo needs to get it together.
That may have been the best meal I’ve ever eaten in my life. My girlfriend said she’s never seen me happier
Was a great dinner for a little getaway date for me and my fiancé. The ricotta stuffed meatball special we got was to die for. Brett our waiter was great and dinner was fantastic.
We went to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday. We had a lovely table on the 2nd floor. The food was delicious and the service was great. Everyone raved about the food, including my mom who is a picky eater. I will go again!
Of the North End Italian restaurants where we've eaten, I would rate Riccardo's squarely in the middle. Not outstanding. Not poor. Our server (Gabby) was friendly and engaging. She helped to make our experience highly-enjoyable. The food was very, very good. My wife and I split the meatball appetizer special, which was outstanding. She loved her lobster ravioli and although I was hesitant to order a standard dish like chicken parm (I don't eat seafood) I'm glad I did because it was excellent. The fra diovolo sauce was a perfect level of spicy. The ambience was only ok. Nothing special and not terrible. Just somewhat bland. The music was a bit loud. One unfortunate observation - several staff members were seen eating/drinking at/near the bar. This is a servicing no-no. The owner himself was sitting at the bar during our meal, so maybe that behavior is not discouraged. All in all, the food was very good however we would be hard pressed to return given the number of more appealing options in the North End.
The steak was cooked well but flavor overall was pretty bland no seasoning or spice, seafood risotto was good but the crushed shells kinda made it hard to eat without chomping down on little bits, and when we got dessert and ordered chocolate mousse there was a giant piece of plastic in the mousse that I bit into... overall left feeling like we paid way too much for what we were served probably won’t be back unfortunately
Excellent food, but the atmosphere was a bit noisy
Chewy veal and cold dinners.
Great food and service
One side of the restaurant looked very nice. Our table had a view of the disorganized host stand. The food was decent, but overpriced.
Fantastic! The food is so fresh and delicious. It’s like being in Italy. The service is great. Fun atmosphere.
The food, ambiance and service was great.
The hosts and waitresses were always there and had great recommendations, knowledgeable on the menu. Our food came out quick and super fresh/hot.
Delicious food!!!! I’ve eaten at many places in North End but they have by far the best chicken piccata and amazing homemade marinara sauce. A street over from Hanover so it’s quieter but still great atmosphere.
