Classy without being overly pretentious. Riccardo Trattoria is one of our favorite Italian restaurants around.
It’s like walking back in Italy! The food is wonderful and he service is so personal! My favorite place in Lincoln Park!!
Amazing food. Such a talented chef who pours his heart and soul into the food
Been coming here for ten years, always 5*
Traditional Italian food at its best ... small and intimate so great for date night - Rigatoni alla Buttera phenomenal!
Wonderful birthday dinner, especially enjoyed the desserts -- panne cotti (complimentary for birthday) and Napoleon. The tomato and cheese on skewer was very good, but not hot when served. Our brother and sister were really pleased with the food.
We went here after a show at Second City and celebrated a birthday. Our server, Paco, was very friendly and attentive! We had a group of 10 and everyone loved what they ordered! We all said we would be coming back. The restaurant is very small but I made a reservation almost a month in advance. Looking forward to coming back to try other items on the menu!
The owner always makes us feel welcome. The black truffle burrata and prosciutto is spectacular. Truly, a unique dining pleasure!
Like a trip to Italy! Always a treat to visit from NYC.
Excellent meal - enjoyed immensely!
This is our third or fourth visit to Riccardo's and we drove 60 miles from northwest Illinois just for Easter dinner. We have never been disappointed with the food or service and enjoy seeing what new creations are on the menu. If you like good authentic Italian food made with the best ingredients, this is the place!
Riccardo Trattoria was one of the most "authentic" Italian restaurant experiences I have had in over 30 years of living in Chicago, a city known for many fine Italian restaurants!
The menu, ambience and even conversation with our Italian waiter made me think that I was truly dining in Italy, the country from which half of my family hailsbb.
Please keep up the excellent service and authentically Italian dining offerings at Riccardo in Chicago, a city which too often in dining goes for the glitz and forgets the "real deal"...
This diamond in the rough is a true neighborhood gem. Fresh and traditional pan Italian dishes using seasonal produce and including holiday themed specials.
Original and great!
Ricardo Trattoria is a neighborhood gem. A small, intimate restaurant perfect for family and friends or for celebrating a special event. The food is always outstanding and the service excellent and friendly. A favorite!
Riccardo and his team are amazing. This is a perennial favorite for a weekday or special celebration. We return again and again. Feels like family. Food is consistently excellent. Highly recommend. Christina
Amazing!!! Thank you!
We always luv this restaurant. Service was fantastic! Lloved the scallops and shrimp!
True Italian dining. Not Chicago-Italian — true Italian, the real thing. Bravo and grazie.
We live in the neighborhood and are never disappointed! The food is excellent and everyone knows it so do not expect a quiet evening. I would NEVER go without a reservation and, if possible, avoid the prime dinner hour. The food and service is excellent. The staff is very professional and always ready to give suggestions if asked. ...even when the place is very busy. We prefer reserving at 6:30 when the room is almost full and the rush is just starting. Keeping the above in mind, I think you will have a memorable evening of superb Italian food with many choices not usually found these days.
We had an absolutely delicious meal! We had a hard time deciding as there were so many amazing options and specials. A great evening out and we’ll be back.
Wonderful food and service impeccable
Best Italian meal I've ever had outside of Italy!
The restaurant is extremely small so the only downside is that even with a reservation you could be waiting for awhile. This did happen to us but luckily they brought out a glass of wine for everyone in the party on the house. Dinner was fantastic. The service was phenomenal. We will continue coming back here.
I picked this place as an out of Townes based on online reviews. I was not disappointed. The service was good, food delicious (try the tiramisu!) and the wine selection was nice. It’s a cozy little spot but very enjoyable.
We will definitely be back. Took friends who are world-travelers, and they said it was the best Italian they had ever had!
Pasta disappointing. Everything else was good. Service was great.
This place is terrific. When I want to impress someone I take them here. Nice staff and delicious food.
Riccardos is the closest we've come in Chicago to the great meals we've had when traveling in Italy.
Tasty and good service Will return again. Good salads
Come to Chicago 1 time a year and always come here. Closest to eating in Italy and I know, as I have a niece who lives there and have been to visit her 2 times. Although the service started out slow, the waiter picked up the pace and the rest of the evening was great.
This restaurant feels authentic and cozy, offers an extensive menu of Italian favorites, and provides warm and generous service.
Have been going here for years. The food is always excellent.
The feel is very authentic.
I am glad that they are still busy, but they seem to have added a few more tables and I don't like to be right on top of the people next to me. I like a bit of privacy.
Wonderful place! Great food.
Great restaurant within a short walking distance to Park West.
Very reliable, it is all about the food. Had a reservation for 8pm, got seated at 825 but they immediately gave us a fried calamari to compensate for the delay. The fried zucchini blossoms are outstanding, the seared tuna is amazing and the saffron rice balls, wow. Always top food.
After my first trip to Italy in November, I was convinced that I would never find a true authentic Italian restaurant in Chicago. WOW! Riccardo Trattoria is that place. Small, lively, friendly and attentive service, and the food is AMAZING! I had the Branzino and it was so fresh and light. It pretty much melted in my mouth. I will definitely be back. Next time I am taking my friends that went to Italy with me so they can re-imagine themselves back in Roma and Florenza.
Fantastic, authentic Italian cuisine. Great wine list and pro service.
