Here through the craftsmanship of an Italian food connoisseur, dishes are prepared with an almost zen-like essentiality that has shaped Riccardo's professional and existential life course.
Still the best place in the west loop!!! Everyone should come here!!!!
Love this place. It has the feel of a small neighborhood restaurant.
Riccardo Osteria was a generally pleasant experience. The staff is very friendly, the service was prompt and attentive. We ordered the gnocchi and the pappardelle which were both tasty, burrata e culatello which was delightful, and the chocolate cake for dessert. While we enjoyed our experience, I will say the ambience leaves a bit to be desired. The lighting is little off, so as not to be all that cozy or romantic which we craved on a cold winter night.
We had a wonderful time! They were warm and welcoming and the food was delicious!
It’s our favorite go to for some of the best Italian food in the city. The service is consistently great.
The owner was outstanding, and personable and so was the staff! Great attention to detail. Food was exceptional. We will definitively be returning!!
We were looking forward to the osso bucco and the lamb shank. The veal was so underwhelming it was actually a huge disapointment. No flavor and tough meat. The. Risotto did not live up to the first time we had risotto there. Such a shame.
Great quality food, always so good
Great service and very accommodating on a busy night. Food was exceptional!
Coming back with friends.
Valentines Day dinner
Maybe an off night, but food was so so and no stand out dishes. Good service and great atmosphere but food was definitely lacking.
This is the best spot in the west loop. Where all the other spots have become a 'scene', this restaurant offers delicious authentic Italian food, reasonably priced, with great service and a warm atmosphere. It's our go to spot and I hesitate posting this for fear it will be overrun if the word gets out!
I really love the food here. I've been here 5 or 6 times at least. One small caveat - I have not enjoyed the few items that I ordered from the 'daily specials' menu, but everything else that I've ordered from their regular menu on any of my visits has been absolutely wonderful. The tomato focaccia bread is addictive. I wish I could buy a pan of it to take home. The veal piccata is really good... as well as the carbonara or the parmesan cream sauce pastas.
I'm a big fan of the their arancini appetizer, but I tried the elk carpaccio appetizer on my latest visit... I think I have a new favorite dish!
Excellent food and service. Make sure to try the fava beans and truffled elk carpaccio.
The veal was delicious as always. Definitely found my new favorite spot in West Loop
We went for restaurant week. They provided plenty of selections for a great deal. Food was very good!
Amazing food matched by a hip but calm ambiance and outstanding service. Hope it remains a hidden gem but I doubt it will.
Excellent food during restaurant week. Worth revisiting.
It was a packed house for a saturday night during restaurnat week and the service was still very timely. The food was absolutely declicious. My pasta was so fresh and the grilled calamari is a true standout!! I will definitely be back.
Good selection for all courses. Generous portions. Attentive service.
To cut down on the noise, the bus boys and kitchen should work together to stop slamming down dishes and creating unpleasant clatter.
I'll be back!
This was our second time here. It has the feel of a small neighborhood Italian restaurant. With the brick walls and the El tracks overhead it has a great urban feel. The food is just good basic Italian with excellent wine.
What a great addition to the Fulton Market food scene! We've been to the Riccardo Osterias in Lincoln Park and hoped it was part of the same series. It is. Quality all the way through.
Friendly staff, clean, fresh dining room. Excellent food preparation
The service was great, and the food was delicious. The veal Milanese was absolutely fantastic. My dad ate his mushroom risotto in about 5 minutes, so it must have been delicious as well!
Very good meal with excellent srvice
Fantastic food in a lovely setting. Everything was excellent including the bread, seafood, pasta, and service. Thanks!
Great service for a very relaxed and enjoyable evening. There was just enough space between each course where we could actually enjoy ourselves and our food, but not get too hungry or too stuffed in the process!!
💣.com. Based on character count requirement for this review, I'm adding .org, .net, .gov, and .us, but not .io. Any place that claimed to be the 💣.io would surely suck, and this place is amazing.
We have been before and brought friends there . Sadly we were seated in the back next to a couple dining with a 2 & 4 year old who melted down . Also the kitchen / serving noise was unfortunate. Next time I will request a table up front ....
Very good restaurant with fantastic food and service. Highly recommended.
This restaurant is a phenomenal place that provides a memorable dining experience. Their dishes are fresh and superb and the service is exemplary. Every time we dine here, the host stops by to check on the service, the waiter is always diligent, the busboys are quick and efficient, and the food is piping hot. The entire staff takes care of you from every angle and I always leave smiling.
Amazing experience. One of my most beloved Chicago restaurants.
The staff could not have been nicer, but ravioli was cold. And, I wasn’t aware that if we sat at the bar (since it was empty in the restaurant), it meant we didn’t get bread like the rest of the tables. Not the end of the world, but still a bummer since we made reservations.
Food was great, our server friendly and attentive but since we were there on the New Years Eve it felt somehow uneasy/rushed. I would recommend this place and will visit again.
Excellent Food! Definitely going back. Great service
The food was awful. Either no taste, too fishy, too salty.
We went for a birthday celebration and it was everyone's first time there. We had a great time, the food was good, and we all said we'd come back again.
We were running late and they held our table for us, which was greatly appreciated. Also, the food was delicious and service was excellent. Would definitely go back.
Everything we had we excellent. The Risotto was delicious
Food was bland. Not much flavor in any of the appetizers or entrees. The wine was good though.
