Riccardo Enoteca Ratings and Reviews
We used to frequent Riccardo Enoteca when we lived in Lincoln Park. Now that we live in Streeterville, we still go regularly. Cesar and his Guadalajaran crew do such a great job (thanks guys!). The menu is extensive - delicious food. The room isn't as cozy, or as pretty, as Riccardo Trattoria, but the ambiance is more relaxed and laid back. We find the crowd at Trattoria a bit pretentious - and while the crowd at Enoteca is also a bit pretentious, less so at Enoteca.
Riccardo Trattoria (sister restaurant across the street) was booked, we were bummed but decided to try Riccardo Enoteca. OMG. Our new favorite restaurant! Everything was fabulous!! My husband ordered the fish special and I ordered the pasta with seafood and spicy red sauce. To die for! Wine list was excellent. My martini perfect. Staff was nice, knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. Can't say enough about this restaurant. Love, love, love this place!
We were seated at a table shoe-horned into an area of the restaurant's small dining room, one very close to the entrance; we tried to move the table a few inches forward so we wouldn't be right under a ventilation duct streaming cold air onto our shoulders and heads and would also be out of the nearly direct path of people exiting and entering, but our waiter came over and forced us to move it back, in a brusque manner too which offended me.
The food was also overpriced--I don't think we'll be going back. This was our second time there--our first visit was better, the service less persnickety, though the table again was cramped and undesirable. In fact, there are few desirable tables at this restaurant.
We were with two friends who are regulars at Riccardo Enoteca too; nonetheless, the manager either didn't recognize them or was too busy or harried to try to ensure our dining experience would be more enjoyable.
Amazing! Love it here- our server was fantastic (more amazing, hospitable and personable then the one we had at the trattoria across the street a few months back) the food is amazing, we ordered the mushroom pizza w truffle oil- awesome.. that crust is too good... also ordered the veal parm and the truffle fettuccine- all on point. Can't wait to go back
charming Italian restaurant serving authentic rustic specials. We ate the trout, the octopus, the pasta fagiole and tomato salad. Everyone was happy with their choices. All delicious. Great wait staff, lovely little dining room, great service. We will return. Excellent
I've been to Riccardo Enoteca many times and it's one of my favorite neighborhood spots. The restaurant is cozy with a great ambiance which makes it great for date nights or dinner with a friend. In the summer, they have a few tables outdoors and the last time I went I enjoyed sitting outside. The food is delicious, there are lots of options on the menu and great wine. This past visit, my friend and I shared an appetizer (braised calamari) and two pasta dishes. One of the pasta dishes was a crab/lobster ravioli and didn't taste very fresh, but the orecchiette pasta with burnt mozzarella was amazing and something I would definitely order again. I would say almost every dish I've ever had here has been delicious, and they make a great cocktail. I'll definitely be back.
Like its sister restaurant across the street (Riccardo Trattoria), Riccardo Enoteca is cozy and authentic. Unlike its sister restaurant, Riccardo Enoteca also has pizza (which is delicious!) and considers itself a wine bar in addition to a restaurant. The food here is consistently great and the environment is warm, quiet, and inviting. A perfect spot for Sunday nights!
My husband and I love Riccardo Enoteca and dine there at least once a month. It's casual but a little romantic also. It's busy but still possible to have a quiet conversation. The food is lovely and a good selection of wines by the glass. I've checked off authentic, as it's the closest we have come to meals we had in Italy.
Enoteca is always wonderful. My friend and I each had a pasta dish and they were excellent as always...The noise level can be a bit high but it is not a large space and the food and service makes up for any noise....This is my regular go-to restaurant and it never disappoints.
What a great place!!! Stopped by Thursday evening for a quick dinner at the bar. I was immediately greeted by the bartender with fresh bruschetta perfect way to start a meal. I ordered the fresh seafood salad on the specials it was one of the best seafood salads I've ever had. For my second course I had the whole Branzino perfectly cooked with a citrus sauce. The bartender suggested a pecorino white wine it was light and crisp perfect for my seafood meal.
CANT WAIT TO GO BACK!!!
We were disappointed with the service. It took a long time to get our entrees and we waited almost 20 minutes to get our check. This is one of our favorite go-to restaurants in Chicago and we will go back. But last night was a disappointing experience.
Food quality is top notch. Fish portions very small. Some items are not on the menu & you have to ask (seafood & pasta combo). The service is attentive & cordial. $10 valetparking across the street. Prices pushing upward.
