After moving to the US, Riccardo opened Sonny Bono, IL Giardino Ristorante and Madeo Ristorante in Beverly Hills. In 1987 he helped his cousin Roberto Ruggeri open the first Bice restaurant in New York City. Since then, he has worked in the opening of many of the restaurants in the group. In 2002 Riccardo moved to Chicago with his wife Veronica to be the executive chef of Bice on Ontario.
Finally Riccardo and Veronica, also a chef, decided to open their own place and in 2006 called Riccardo Trattoria. Considered by many to be the top Italian restaurant in town, receiving the Bib Gourmand from Michelin in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
Now, Riccardo and Veronica have opened Riccardo Enoteca, right across the street from Riccardo Trattoria on Clark.

Excellent food, wine selection, service, and love the classic sailboat art on the walls!
The server was very attentive and the food was delicious!
Very good place for dinner with the lady. Service is great, has the quaint ambiance of an NYC trattoria with a good selection of pasta and moderately inexpensive bottles of wine.
I LOVE Ricardo's Enoteca! Food is excellent and the service is outstanding. Highly recommended restaurant.

Favorite Italian spot in all of Chicago - so lucky to live right next door! The service and food are unbeatable.
This is now added to my new neighborhood rotation of favorites. The service was excellent and the food was really great. I can’t wait to bring my family here when they visit Chicago next!
Great food, great service, nice wine list. Some of the best grilled octopus and lasagna ever...

Food and service NEVER disappoint! Our favorite little neighborhood Italian restaurant.
Neighborhood gym. Can’t say enough positive things about eating at this location
Food and service where outstanding. Unfortunately the dinning too was chilly and ceiling fans where on, which made it very cold.
Very attentive staff and recommendations and specials were absolutely delicious!
The entire experience at Riccardo Enoteca was outstanding from the minute we arrived to the time that we left. We were seated promptly and graciously. Our server was polite, knowledgeable, and very good at anticipating our preferences. The food was delicious and beautifully prepared/presented. I’m definitely going back and I highly recommend it! Thank you to the entire staff for making our evening special!
This is a cozy neighborhood place that my son and I love to go to when I visit him in Lincoln Park! The staff are always friendly and treat you like family. The food and wine selections are great! The atmosphere is conducive to conversation-often difficult to find in many restaurants.

My favorite old-school, classic Italian spot. The service is so personable, the menu items authentic and delicious every time. The Sinatra music was the cherry on top!

One of our favorite favorite restaurants!!! The people are lovely- the food is consistently fantastic!
We had a lovely dinner at Ricardo Enoteca. They have three tables for outside dining. We were warm and comfortable. The food and service were excellent. We will be returning here in the future.
Riccardo Enoteca never fails to disappoint, even in a pandemic. The outdoor dining service was plenty toasty despite the January temps, the food was outstanding, and the staff even sent over a dessert after hearing it was my 30th birthday. Don't hesitate to make a reservation and support this local gem.
Our most favorite place. The host are excellent and food is never bad.
Love JP and the team! Always happy and delicious food.
