Located at the EntertainmentOne Building in the Queen-Spadina area, at the corner of Peter & Richmond, Ricarda's pairs modern Mediterranean-inspired fare with charming hospitality. Serving Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Tapas in between, the broad offering also includes Saturday a la carte Brunch, Sunday All-You-Can-Eat Jazz Brunch Buffet, Take-Out, Office Catering, and Private Events.
Loved our Sunday Jazz Brunch at Ricardas. A truly beautiful ambience with great food. The guy who welcomed us in at the front was so kind and kept checking in to see how we were enjoying everything — 10/10 service from him and most of the staff. For the price you are paying, the food quality is good, although it would be nice if they added a bit more to the buffet, like avocado, bread (the croissants were awesome though), ice cream, cookies, etc. All in all, definitely recommend and will be back!
We absolutely loved being able to brunch while the children played (supervised) on the bouncy castle. What a lovely idea! And we adored our booth as well. Thank you!
The place is nice, the food is good but pricey for those small portions. You do need an appetizer to go with it.The service was fantastic and the atmosphere great.
Amazing service and great food every single time! Been coming here regularly for the past year and it never fail to exceed our expectation. Kudos to the excellent team of Ricardas!
Menu is diverse and not your usual boring bay street fare. The service took a bit longer than I would like and the portions a tad small but otherwise this place is great. I have no hesitation recommending it and always get thumbs up when I do.
Amazing service and food. Soon to become our regular date night spot
The decor was gorgeous and the food was delicious despite it’s ridiculously small portion. I would recommend this if it wasn’t for the service, at first they wouldn’t seat us at the booth eventhough there were only a couple people there and the booths were empty. we were waiting for a friend and told the waitress that we would order once they got there. However, the waitress insisted on telling the specials and recommended two drinks, but we said we were going to wait. Then, I saw that she brought a cocktail eventhough I had not ordered and when we told her she just said okay.!! The cocktail was beautiful but it tasted so bad... my friend described it as bleach. We mentioned it to the waitress who again just said okay and that she would tell the manager, which she did not. Overall, I would love to come there again maybe for the breakfast menu but because of the service we will not come again.
Brought my family and my aunts family for Mother’s Day Brunch which was communicated to me as a $75 pp brunch buffet with a 3 piece band. Upon arrival, we were seated OUTSIDE of the restaurant in their atrium (basically the lobby) which was made up of long tables with rental chairs and white linen for all the overflow. Couldn’t hear the band and we did not have the ambience of the restaurant. Would not have brought my family had I known they would be seating us in a lobby. Poor communication on the restaurants part and the experience was not worth the money.
Staff was amazing, along with food. Will definitely return.
JoAnnJ what a lovely review to receive; we look forward to your next visit! Cheers xx
Made a reservation for 5 given table for 4 in the atrium in the corner. Slow service. Took 29 plus minutes to get the tab.
Had an amazing Mother’s Day brunch today. Thrilled with the food, experience and ambiance. The staff move around carefully and there was a lot of staff due to the big crowd for the holiday brunch. I never had to look around for more than 10 seconds before someone attended to our needs. Food, coffee and water were all replenished with great frequenters but not at an annoying level. Can’t think of a single thing to criticize in any way.
Hi there, your review is music to our ears! Thank you kindly for taking the time to share it with us. We so appreciate it and we hope we will be able to host you and yours again : )
Had dinner with 8 friends on my birthday. The place is good for up to 9-10 people, it's quite and elegant. The menu is not big but has everything you'd like to order in a modern Italian restaurant. Prices are the same as in other places in the area.
Daulet we’re thrilled you celebrated with us, Ricarda’s loves celebrating birthdays! It sounds like you had yourselves a lovely evening and we’re so glad to be the ones to host you on your special day. Come by for brunch sometime! xo, Ricarda.
Atmosphere and service are impeccable. Food is very good, but be prepared for small fancy portions. I would go back!
Thank you for review Amy : ) We have shared your opinions with our team so they can learn from them, and we look forward to having you back, cheers!
Excellent food quality and service. Highly recommend.
Really cute spot for lunch. It was fairly quiet and we were seated immediately. Staff are friendly and make you feel comfortable. Food is phenomenal. Prices are reasonable for the area.
Marie it sounds like you had yourself a lovely lunch! We’re so glad you left feeling taken care of by our team, it makes our day to hear this , and our team will be proud – come back soon!
We have been to Ricarda's at least a dozen times and to be very honest, if my last visit was my first i would not recommend it. The food was terrible, not to mention that one of the parties was missing two of the items that he ordered on the "create your own salad".
Hi LoriL, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback online with us – We greatly appreciate and respect our regulars, so your notes mean a lot to us. Can we ask if you shared your feedback with your server during your meal? We ask as we’d like to know how our team handled it. If you care to let us know what you didn’t like about the food, we would be more than open to hearing your thoughts. Again, learning from a regular guest like yourself is very valuable to us!
Went for Tapas Tuesday. Super small portion sizes. Ended up leaving after the meal and going to another pub down the street.
Hi there, we’re so glad you came and gave us a try. We wanted to clarify that tapas are traditionally small plates of foods, snacked on and shared amongst friends! We encourage our guests to order multiple dishes, and go on a culinary adventure over the course of those many small plates. If larger or more standard sized portions are what you’re after, we’d be pleased to suggest joining us for dinner Wednesday through Saturday night. Cheers!
Went for brunch to celebrate
Hey Donnav, we love celebrations at Ricarda’s!
Brunch is spectacular, huge selection on the brunch buffet, more than you could ever try. Beautiful atmosphere, great service. All around excellent, including family friendly with a separate monitored play area with a bouncy castle. Seriously, a bouncy castle, no joke.
Roger it sounds like you joined us for our famous Sunday All-you-Can-Eat Jazz Brunch! It really is such fun isn’t it?! We’re grateful to you for sharing your experience and we hope you’ll be dining with us again very soon, cheers xx
Took my girlfriend for an early Mother’s Day brunch and it was a really great experience. Our server Shar was awesome and very professional. The food was really good too. Will come back for sure
Aww Brandan this review makes our day! We’re thrilled you celebrated with us, we think it’s so lovely that you found a unique way to celebrate Mother’s Day, and we’ll make sure your kind words reach Shar’s ears : )
1st time here and will definitely return! The food, service and atmosphere was outstanding (prices are reasonable to). We got top notch service from our server and the manager (i really wish i remembered their names). The food was amazing, so much flavour and uniqueness in ever dish! I have to say this is one of Toronto’s best restaurants!!
Thank you for the kind words! Reviews like this from guests such as yourself is what we strive for every day at Ricarda’s : ) We’re grateful you shared your experience with the OpenTable community and we’d love to have you back, on us! Would you be interested in having us host you for Tapas Tuesday? Our treat! If you wouldn’t mind sharing your email we can get our manager in touch directly. Hope to hear from you, cheers xx
Made a dinner reservation for Tuesday but did not know that they only served Tapas then. Scallops were cooked and presented beautifully, but the dips and bread dishes were very disappointing. Bread had been deep fried earlier during the day and it was cold and breezy. Menu was very limited due to it being tapas only, and it left a few choices for people who have dietary restrictions. The dips such as baba ghanouj weren’t as tasty as expected; we had been in the Middle East a week previously so unfortunately if you did not compare
Hi Lynnc, we’re so happy you dined with us and we appreciate your feedback. We will certainly share it with our team, as it’s from reviews like yours that we learn the most. Just so you know, we proudly serve “regular” dinner Wednesday - Saturday night, and we would love to host you. Let us know if you come back, we’ll make sure you are shown a good time!
The food, as always, was outstanding. the service was pleasant as expected.
We’re so happy you’re a Ricarda’s regular Jack! We are so grateful for guests such as yourself. We look forward to your next visit xx
Great brunch with kids! Love the kids area. Great service. Foods are great.
Thank you for the review GreeenCupcake; at our Sunday Jazz Brunch we strive to make sure it’s fun for the whole family! We’re proud you felt we succeeded. We’re so happy you enjoyed, do visit us again soon xx
Very nice meal. Went on a Saturday night date with my wife and we both had a nice time. A bit pricey, but you do get what you pay for!
We’re so happy to have hosted you and yours Jamie! We love a good date night at Ricarda’s - every day is a reason to celebrate! We look forward to the next time we get you host you : )
Wonderful service and food. They were able to accommodate a member of our party in a wheelchair. We ordered drinks, dinner and desserts and it was perfect. This place is in walking distance to royale Alexandera theatre. Perfect preshow dinner.
Music to our ears! At Ricarda’s we strive to make every guest feel welcome and comfortable; we’re so happy we were able to accommodate your group and we look forward to hosting you again in the future. Cheers!
Service was great at the Easter jazz brunch. Food was just average with nothing standing out as particularly delicious. Pretty good value I guess given the very good raw bar choices but the salad bar was average and the 2 roasts either overdone (pork) or extremely underdone (beef). Would return for their regular menu to give it another chance.
Hi! We’re so happy you joined us for our Easter version of our All-You-Can-Eat Jazz Brunch and we appreciate your feedback! We’ll be sharing your notes with our team so they can learn. We will mention that if you want your meat cooked to a certain temperature, our chefs are more than willing to accommodate – just ask! We do our best to accommodate any and all buffet requests at Jazz Brunch and during our regular service, which we certainly do hope you will join us for! Perhaps Tapas Tuesday?
Really beautiful looking place but the menu isn’t very creative or inventive compared to other awesome spots in the city.
Fingerlickingood we’re flattered you were inspired by our space, but are surprised to hear your feedback! We feel our menu is fresh, inspired, delicious and regularly excites foodie folks. Can we ask what you’d like to see on our menu? We’d love to learn! Cheers xx
Had reservations for brunch on a Saturday with my 2 kids and my friend and her daughter. The "kid friendly" menu options were just so-so as they did not have the kids brioche sliders. We settled on chicken fingers and fries, grilled fish with vegetables, and spaghetti with tomato sauce. Spaghetti was way over cooked and server messed up and brought out fish sticks and fries - kids stated eating it as it took so long, that I didn't send it back. I had the portobello mushroom burger, which was nice. My friend had the shrimp salad which unfortunately was too salty and dressing on the salad very tart. She didn't eat it and they didn't charge for the shrimp though our server said they've had complaints all day about the salt content on other dishes and she would speak to the kitchen staff.
I was going to ask for the manager as I shouldn't be paying for food that was obviously not eaten or enjoyed but she also removed the cost of the fish sticks as we didn't order that. So the cost difference almost works out "in the wash".
Won't be going back anytime soon because I'm all about first impressions with dining.
I had made the reservation for 2 ppl, 2 weeks in advance for Jazz and Brunch, and at first the hostess sat us outside the restaurant on the corridor area where you can’t even hear the music.
When we asked to move, they gave us the stink eye, switched the table once more and finally sat down only to have the hostess say “you now have only 1hr to eat as we have other ppl coming” ??!!
Not coming back..
Hi there, we are thrilled you joined and we truly appreciate the honest feedback. We’ll be sharing your notes with our team so they can learn and improve. While we do let guests know upon reservation that there is seating in our atrium as well as in the restaurant, we want to ensure our guests felt cared for at each moment of their visit with us. Again, we will make sure the team hears about your experience and treats it as one to learn from!
Food was terrific. Maître d’ was excellent
Shelagh we’re so thrilled you enjoyed dining us, we appreciate the review and hope to welcome you back very soon, cheers!
Amazing made to order omellet and eggs Benedict. I will return.
Hi JoAnn, it sounds like you joined us for our Sunday All-You-Can-Eat Jazz Brunch; it’s a wonderful way to spend a Sunday and we’re so glad you did! We look forward to hosting you again very soon, cheers xx
Servers were very knowledgeable about food, and were able to answer questions about allergies - if you're allergic to nuts, for example, the server said that all nuts were added at the end of a dish and could easily be removed. We ordered the octopus appetizer, which featured slightly-crunchy chick peas that ended up better than the octopus itself; a pasta dish that came with scallops that were perfectly cooked (all pasta is made in-house); the cornish hen (moist, but the gnocchi out-does the chicken, and now that I think about it, so too did the cauliflower than absorbed all the chicken juice) and the lamb (which my friend was very happy with). The pavlova was one of the best desserts I've had in a while.
Marshall you sound like quite the foodie! We’re thrilled to have impressed you with our service and food quality. We’ll be sure to send your notes to our chef and pastry chef as it is very valuable feedback for us. We hope you’ll join us again very soon, perhaps for our Sunday All-You-Can-Eat Jazz Brunch? We think you’d be a fan – cheers!
Birthday dinner! We didn’t realize it was tapas only so that was a bit disappointing initially, but we ended up staying and really enjoying the tapas. Service was great, and there was a surprise birthday desert plus we did not realize there was also a birthday discount. Great time!
Hi there, Happy Birthday! We love birthdays at Ricarda’s and are pleased to offer our Show Of Your Age discount; if you dine with us in your birthday week, we’re thrilled to offer you a discount off your bill equal to that of your new age. Tell your friends! We hope we get to celebrate with you again soon, xo.
The regular menu was not available for dinner, only tapas which was a bit disappointing. However, more disappointing was that me and another friend felt sick after we left the restaurant, and I still feel sick 2 days after. We all had raw fish which I am guessing is what is making me feel ill, however only 2 out of 4 felt ill after. The tapas was also small. Wasn’t impressed at all.
Hi MP, We’re glad you came by for Tapas, but we’re sorry to hear it wasn’t what you expected. The concept of Tapas is many small plates shared we do have cured salmon, but this is of course not raw. Ricarda’s is DineSafe Certified, (review con’t) …
Amazing place for Sunday brunch!!!
Thank you Shamima, our team will be so proud to know you had a wonderful time with us. Please join us again soon!
Ambience was great, however, there was NO bacon left with breakfast. This was before the last call for the breakfast items. Other than, great experience.
Hi SugarNSpice, we see you came for our All You Can Eat Sunday Jazz Brunch, and we’re so thrilled you did! We prepare more than enough food for all the reservations we have booked, and in fact we have two settings so we have time to replenish any items that were overly enjoyed : ) It sounds like when you came in there must have been a bacon lover who had more than the average share, so let us know before you come back next time and we’ll be sure to cook some up fresh just for you ; ) Cheers!
I would recommend Ricarda's to other friends solely for the food and the atmosphere
We’re flattered Reinard, thank you!
It was an amazing experience and I shall return soon for more. Regret not coming here sooner.
Wow, Rehog this review sincerely makes our day. We’re thrilled you had such an amazing time and we hope that you’ll dine with us again many times over in the future!
Great ambience, helpful and friendly servers, and fantastic flavours. I did send my fries back because of a kitchen hygiene error, and our server gave me a complimentary scone. I didn't ask for a refund on the dish but an offer would have been appreciated. But that won't deter me from visiting again!
Hi Jon, we’re so glad you came and spent time with us at Ricarda’s. We’re surprised by the issue you have mentioned, we appreciate your feedback, and would like to look into your experience further as we love to learn all that we can from our reviews. Is there an email we can reach you at?
