The restaurant is lively and the atmosphere is enjoyable. I rated the food "good" overall. My main dish was excellent, but the appetizer and the dessert were not. The wait staff is good, but we didn't see him much. The bar tenders are attentive and the drinks we ordered were made perfectly. Overall, I had a good experience and I will definitely dine there again.
We really enjoyed the food and there were many tempting offerings on the menu. Our waiter was very helpful and pleasant. Our only complaint......no Irish music on the night we ate there!
Not the best. Service was very slow. Took 20 min for beer and placing order. Server only came to check once. Fish and chips had cold fries bu5 delicious fish. Burgers were messy. The cottage pie was interesting and the best bet. Disappointing.
Food was (and is always) good. Service was very slow.
The fish and chips is great and probably one of the best ever had. Important to note it’s made w haddock not cod.
However can’t share that excitement about a salad w shrimps. That was really not worth eating. The shrimp had no taste and only served w 4-5 of those short of able to make a dinner lasting. I was even concerned these were safe to eat but all good.
Service fair because we felt a bit rushed. The place had empty tables however the check came to us after having a second bite ... yeah we don’t want coffee or dessert.
Not impressed. Many other options to choose
Decent spot, rather empty, but fair food and no complaints.
The food was excellent and our waitress was amazing. Thank you!
Food was great - Roberta took excellent care of us!
Took family for dinner after a day at the water park. Food was delicious and the place has a cool atmosphere. Looks like it was a bank about 100 years ago with awesome glass dome ceiling. Beer selection is excellent. No problem finding something for semi-picky kids to eat and plenty of options for mom & dad.
Great food, great service, great prices in a great city. The veggie burger was outstanding. So glad we ate at Rí Ra before a concert; best choice!
Great space with good food and service. Fish and chips are tops here!
Took a friend out. Great as usual. Waitress was great. Irish band playing a little loudly but the company made it something to laugh about later.
Service slow, the servers need to clear after each course not just wait until the end. I asked her to clear so we weren’t reaching over five peoples dirty appetizer and dinner plates. Only half the plates were cleared! Lastly, we were surprised by the curve ball of no candle to sing to our child for his ninth birthday! All of the former Are pretty standard restaurant stuff...but we rolled with it! Overall good food and ambience, just keep the service expectations on the lower side.
Very pleased with the food.
We booked a reservation thru OpenTable, which was easy and fast. When we showed up 20 minutes early, it was no problem and we were seated. We were a party of 8 (1 a child). The hostess was friendly. The waitress was great... funny and helpful for anything we needed. This was our first time here and we will definitely be back. The food was sooooo good! From apps to desserts. Thanks Ri Ra for a great night out with visiting family :-)
Great food and plenty of it
Service was excellent
We celebrated my husband’s 50th birthday with 10 of our friends and had a wonderful experience at RiRa!! Everything from the atmosphere to the food was excellent!! The server was more than accommodating to us!! Can’t wait to go back!
Loved the Music Food was excellent. Waitress was not friendly at first but warmed up after a while. understaffed
Portsmouth is such a lively town. Eating at Ri Ra never disappoints. We were early to our reservation, but were seated immediately. Our server was outstanding. Our daughter had an upset stomach, and the server went out of her way to help out. The food was delicious. We have eaten at Ri Ra in both Portland and Portsmouth several times. We know when we go we'll get good food and service.
Loved the patio and the fact they were pet friendly. Service could have been a bit more welcoming, she seemed cold in my opinion.
Food was good and mention had a nice selection of items.
Beautiful old bank repurposed into a restaurant. Great location. Staff was friendly and efficient. Would definitely go again.
Always a fantastic time at RiRa!
Great Place! Can't wait to go back! Everyone loved the food. Fish and Chips is huge!
We celebrated Mother’s Day here. We had reservations and arrived a few minutes early but were seated right away. Our server came over immediately and took our drinks order. I must say that we had the best service I have ever had. The food was good but the live Irish music was great. Loved our experience at RiRa.
Good value for cost. Did not realize they had breakfast prior to this.
Excited for this brunch, though maple french toast made my stomach sick. Service was slow and the lack of kids menu items for brunch was frustrating.
Service was great, our waitress was very pleasant. Food was good, although our son ordered the french toast with the whiskey maple butter and apparently the kitchen couldn't find the butter so he ended up getting just plain french toast. Not a huge deal, but you probably want to have one of the main components in the title of the dish on hand.
Fish and chips was excellent as was the smoked turkey sandwich.
Everything went good
Great lunch with my daughter and her grandmothers on a nearby college visit. Food was good for all (burger, salad, French toast) cool atmosphere as it used to be a bank and still has vaults and marble columns
Located directly in the center of charming Portsmouth NH, Ri Ra is housed in an old bank building. While converting the interior to a beautiful & cozy Irish pub, the gorgeous bones of the building remain. Service was fast & friendly. Food was wonderful - absolutely the best burger I have ever had anywhere. I don't make that claim lightly!
Great place for Irish fare. Reminded me of pub menus we experienced in Ireland. Server was exceptional, helping us to decide what was best. Will return
Had a group of 10 and everything was great with an outstanding server!!
Great people, outstanding food. Excellent atmosphere.
It was the night before St. Patrick’s day, so they were super busy, but they sat us on time. Food and drinks were amazing, though we didn’t see our server as often due to volume of customers. We had a secluded side room, so noise wasn’t a factor. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to eat or drink in Portsmouth.
It's a fun, young place with good food and very good service.
Great Irish breakfast! Perfect way to start St. Patrick's Day weekend!
The wings were really small?! Good beer selection. Felt like our table was inside a vault. Very cool.
Canceled the reservation at the last minute.
The plus side was the food was very good. The downside was the restaurant apparently ran out of about a third of the menu! They even told us they were out of bread! Our server explained it was a busy weekend, but it was Sunday night and the place was pretty dead. (The only other times I've been in a restaurant that was out of so much was when they were going out of business.) The food came slow and our server was somewhat inattentive, which was surprising considering how NOT busy it was. I've eaten at the Ri'Ra before and had good experiences, but this past Sunday was weird. At least the food was good.
