Ri Ra Irish Pub - Georgetown
Awesome Irish Pub in Georgetown! The food was delicious and the staff friendly and efficient. The Whiskey Bar is an experience and highly recommended.
Outstanding experience. Food was excellent. Great service. Had a great time. Will definitely be back.
Dubliner lamb burger is delicious. One of the best burgers I've ever had in DC, and I've been here for 35+ years.
Always a good time watching European soccer, even if your team loses.
Nice place for lunch or for a drink! Had the shepherds pie and it was delicious! I also had their hard cider and it was really good!
Best Fish and Chips this side of Dublin. Perfect atmosphere for watching games.
The fish and chips were delicious, as was the Irish coffee. Super staff too!
Service was good, but food was pretty sub-par.
Whiskey Room is fantastic.
My husband and I keep ending up at places this week where the wait staff struggles with the basics. Perhaps these are seasonal or holiday hires without any experience? First, I will say the fried chicken and fish is crispy and everyone in our party loved their tasty meals. The fellas watched some of the Clemson game and our seats were super comfortable, and we all felt cozy and enjoyed the atmosphere for a couples’ night out.
However, our waiter struggled. He tried to take our drink orders immediately after two people in our party of four left the table to wash their hands. He did not come back for a spell. All of our orders were correct, but the appetizer we ordered with our drinks came out after we received our entrees. In a nice move, management comped the app. I ordered the Fish and Chips, which should come with tartar sauce, but the sauce failed to come with the entree, so I asked for some. We ended up with an up-charge for “extra sauce” on our bill because of this. Our waiter didn’t visit our table very often, which is usually okay when we friends get together to gab, but this also meant empty water glasses and a lot of confusion on our waiter’s part when my husband finished his second and last beer- we leaned out of the booth to get his attention and ask for the checks, but the waiter, finally coming to the table, quickly told us my husband’s beer was on the way. We had to make very clear that the second beer had already arrived, been drunk, and we had not ordered another. It took a few rounds, but we finally got the checks. We did not dispute the 50 cent sauce surcharge because it wasn’t worth it at that point.
Server wasn't there best- attentive or seem to care that he was supposed to be serving.
Appetizer was good, would have been great if it had been hot.
Dinner was very good - hot and good portions.
Love to go and watch a premier league match on the weekends. Great Irish breakfast and friendly service.
It was great! You have to get the shepherds pie, it was really good. It’s also located right in the middle of all the shops so definitely go shop all day and finish your day at Ri Ra. They got us a table with no wait which was good because we were hungry and ready to sit down.
We were in the back room
We loved Ri Ra! It was a great place for a Christmas brunch. The French toast was absolutely amazing! We loved our food and loved the atmosphere.
We love Ri Ra! The food is reliably delicious, and the live music is a wonderful bonus. Love the vintage Irish posters on the walls as well!
There were three of us that came to Georgetown after seeing Zoo Lights and wanted to eat before walking around to see GT Glow. My husband’s salad was mediocre, my son’s chicken was not good and I had the worst cheeseburger I ever had. I swear it was a a frozen patty. And you charge $14 for it? The meal ended up costing over $80. (Yes that included 3 beers.) I will never eat here again. There are plenty of places to get an excellent fresh burger that tastes good and not like carnival fare.
Also the rest room was a mess. Toiletpaper all over the stall floors, one stall had no toilet paper at all and one of the soap dispensers was empty. Sure didn’t seem like a nice place in Georgetown on a Saturday evening. And why do bars have TVs on everywhere during dining hours?
Fantastic service and gorgeous pub. We had a great time and the food was wonderful. Perfect for a casual Saturday night meal before a show at the Kennedy Center. I was relieved It wasn’t so loud that we couldn’t have group conversations. Will definitely go again!
Visited Georgetown for a quick Christmas getaway. Found this little place on Open Table and really enjoyed our Saturday Brunch. We loved the Chicken and Waffles with Maple Honey Butter as well as the Eggs and Bangers & Rashers.
One of my favorite pubs in the area! Nice selection of food and great staff.
Overhead speakers blasting the band at mega-volume into the dining area are completely unnecessary and unwanted. Strained my voice trying to carry on a conversation. Leave the band sound on-stage where it belongs with an appropriately scaled PA for the venue. The audience can come to them if they are compelling enough. Otherwise, let the customers enjoy each others company and a Guinness or two.
Great food, service, and ambiance!
Despite the really disappointing food we did have a great time. I ordered a holiday special and everything on my plate was way too heavily salted. My husband ordered a burger and said it had no real flavor at all. Our waiter was just this side of rude - even though we didn't complain about anything. He seemed irritated to have to answer any of our menu questions. However, the entertainment and the people watching was terrific. I would highly recommend this place for the atmosphere and a drink, but would warn against ordering any food.
The drinks, food, and ambiance were great. The Pope decoration above the bar was hilarious! The lamb poutine is a MUST! They had a seasonal menu with some Thanksgiving inspired items which was delicious and was a great kickoff to the holiday season!
Great place. Whenever we are in DC, we make sure to go there. Olive and Dez are the best
Very very poor service. We were seated over a half hour before being acknowledged and then another hour and fifteen to get our food. Too bad as seemed like nice atmosphere but experience was atrocious.
Warm, cozy ambiance. GREAT and extensive scotch selection. Food was great and wait staff were super friendly and helpful! (We weren't at the bar, but it could get a little noisy.)
Very cold in the place even though it was 50 degrees and raining outside, waiter was slightly rude and uninformative. Wife ordered the irish stew, she hasnt had it in a long time since being back home in ireland and was looking forward to it since it was cold. She says it was horrible, it was too thick the lamb was fatty and it had lots of barley in it. The sausage rolls and fish and chips were ok but its hard to mess up fish and chips.
Awesome Sunday brunch along with an energetic futbol-football crowd watching El Clasico, Eagles- Jaguars, and Man U on various screens. Manager, Des, and his staff were super accommodating and clearly aim to please. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled great! We opted for the house Bloody(ies) and eggs benedict, and they did not disappoint. Lots of comfortable seating and ambience options depending on what you're there for...a quick bite and a pint, or to spend a few hours with friends watching your favorite team.
Excellent service and good food
Great meal watching NFL on Sunday. Exceptional service and very gracious about our hanging at the table for the entire game.
It was great! We were there with adults 57 years old through 32 and kids 7-2 yrs old. It was a great fit for everyone. Food was great waitress was great!
We were seated in the back of the restaurant so it was reasonably quiet. Unfortunately because of where we sat our server forgot about us. We had to ask for him for drink refills. He never checked on us. The man who brought our food chose to hand it across the the table and passing it in front of my husband instead of walking up two steps and placing it in front of each of us.
The food was just ok. Very dry pork chop but the bratwurst and bangers we're good.
If you are a fan of different ales/beer great place that doesn't give you a 1,000 beer menu. If you are from Irish decent or just love Irish food, pub's,and beer this is a must stop. The interior is decorated in authentic antique Irish decor and has an old pub feeling . The place 4 different theamed areas that you can choose from all have great taste. I had the Shepard's pie it was awesome. My wife got the fish and chips the lightly breaded and fried haddock was at least 16 inches long and 4 inches wide it was the best fish and chips I have ever had . If you're in the area definitely should stop in.
This place was great! The servers are very competent and had no problems answering a lot of questions and writing down a lot of high maintenance details about the food without any complaint or attitude. A very positive, can-do attitude. Food was above average and arrived quickly, and their beer selection is fire.
Horrible, slow service. One of those places where you have to get up to get service. Food was average, they were out of numerous things on the menu (it was a Saturday night). Bathrooms were disgusting. Wonder what kitchen looked like? Couldn’t get out of there fast enough.
Ambience was great. Drinks were great. Items read well in menu, But were severely lacking. Porkchop was bland and dry, irish curry chicken was so oily it was soup consistancy and cauliflower risotto (side) was ground cauli, melted cheese in white water. Again no taste
I have eaten at Ri Ra several times in the past year, and usually have a good experience.
Not the case this week, unfortunately.
Service was horrible, fries were soggy, and the iced tea (once it finally came) was cloudy.
At least the Reuben sandwich was up to par.
I had been wanting to try this place after reading good reviews and getting a recommendation from an Irish friend of the owner’s in Galway . It was mediocre at best . It is good for drinks but the food was not nearly as interesting or as good as some of the food I had at pubs in Ireland . I did not experience the music but I suppose that would add to the atmosphere
Food is great, drink pours are generous and their servers are AWESOME. Olive is a doll. If you want to catch a game and have a great brunch, this is your spot.
Great food and live band!
