About Ri Ra Irish Pub - Charlotte
Meticulously restored in Ireland and shipped to the US, Ri Ra embodies everything that you would expect from a genuine Irish Pub. Ri Ra comes from the phrase "Ri Ra agus Ruaile Buaile," a phrase translating roughly as divilment, good fun or any sociable activity that improves with fine food, a nice pint of Guinness or dram of Uisce Beatha (whiskey). Ri Ra can be defined as place or state where exuberance and revelry prevail, where music and merriment compete and the conversation flows smooth as the Guinness ebbs in the glass. Slainte!

Ri Ra Irish Pub - Charlotte Ratings and Reviews
Great experience all around. Veggie burger was amazing! I had the cucumber and radish salad as a side and it was fresh and delicious. Loved that there were many vegetarian options as well as clean grass fed beef and Icelandic fish. Great atmosphere and service. Will be back to try the fish (haddock) and chips.
A friend and I met here for a pre-theater dinner, primarily for the easy access to the theater on a snowy evening. We were seated by the cosy fireplace, which lent a lovely atmosphere to our dining experience. I was favorably impressed that the Pub was quiet, making it easy to enjoy conversation with my dinner partner.
We chose to share a starter of Traditional Potato Cakes, which were served with sour cream and a bit of mixed greens and balsamic reduction. The cakes were divine... I would return just to savor them again!
As our mains, my friend chose the haddock fillet, which was a very generous portion, accompanied by house made tartar sauce and hand cut fries. My choice was the Irish Cider Glazed Pork Chop with grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes. I must confess the mashed potatoes were not creamy as described in the menu. In fact, they were very dry, disappointing after experiencing the super creamy potato cheese cakes!
Our server was attentive and provided friendly, efficient service throughout our dinner. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our Irish dining experience, and are eager to return to sample more menu selections on offer.
As a group of six, in a booth in the bar area, we had an excellent time, great service & very good food. Our waiter was friendly and perfectly attentive and great at anticipating so we were never left wanting for anything for a second. The fish of the Fish & Chips was excellent. The fries could have been a bit crispier for my taste but everyone seemed to enjoy them well enough, so no harm. Hadn’t been in a long time but will be back very soon.
Close to blumenthal for pre- theater dining- bar food mostly - Reuben was very good - homemade chips were ok but not hot - friend had salmon which was on a bed of radishes & cucumbers & she enjoyed but did not include a side - our appetizer was delicious like bruschetta with avocado - I probably won’t go again because overall I don’t feel it is a good value - I had one glass of wine & friend had water & bill was almost 60.00 with tip
Wow...this was really bad. Made a reservation for six before a show at Belk Theatre, the proximity to the theatre was about the only positive I have to say. Reservation was not on file, server brought water to the table, but told us that they were still washing dishes and had no glasses. Drinks were not good, very slow, and came one at a time, food sat way too long under the heat lamp, over 45 minutes from order to table plus another 5 minutes or so to have someone bring us silverware. Food quality was poor, cold Shepherd's pie, dry and cold pork chop, fish and chips was more like fish and mush. Not sure what the problem was, they seemed moderately busy, but not slammed. Generally a very poor experience, no need to go back.
We had a great Thanksgiving evening at Ri Ra's. The food was delicious. The service was good. The live band was great. The only issue was a bad odor. We moved to another table, it still smelled slightly but it was never taken care of. Other than that it was a good experience.
The restaurant was very short staffed for a game day. We waited 10 minutes for a hostess to appear and once seated we waited 20 minutes for the waitress to take our drink order. In her defense she did stop by the table after 12 minutes to let us know she’d be back. The Bloody Mary bar was very skimpy compared to a previous visit. The food is delicious but they need a larger wait staff on home game Sundays. Not sure we’d go back on game day since brunch took 1 hour and 30 minutes causing us to be late for the game.
The Kilre Chicken was absolutely delicious. The appetizers were very good. The potatoes were tasty and the onion rings were wonderful. The beef tips were lacking a little. I loved the sauce, my boyfriend said they needed something. The roasted potatoes were better then the mashed potatoes and the Vegetables were perfect. Wait staff was friendly and efficient. Haven't had such good service in a while. Overall experience was excellent.
Went for brunch with a group of 15.
Despite making reservations, they were unable to fully accommodate our party because they misread the reservation for 10 instead of 15 (which our server argued about even though our confirmation clearly stated 15).
Food was decent. Service with Swiney was appalling. She was rude and very poorly trained. Orders were forgotten, water was rarely refilled, sassy comments were made, and it was an overall awful experience. The vast majority of our group are or were servers, and we were shocked was her lack of professionalism.
The food may be okay. But that amounts to nothing if their service remains this poor.
Wife and both ordered burgers, hers medium well, mine medium; both came out cold, despite wife sending hers back. I ordered onion rings and got sweet potato fries, so took back whole plate to fix. Waitress was apologetic and they did not charge us for meal which was nice of them.
We had been before but this time the service was slow, the meal portions were really small for the price and the drinks from the bar were very week and very expensive so we asked for a double. 2 drinks and a bottle of beer was $49!!! We won't be going back anytime soon, too many others places to chose from with better service and value. I'm sorry!
My wife sirloin tips were really chewy and her green beans were very small plus burnt. The corn beef that I chose was good and also the cabbage. Most of all the Sundae with brownie, walnuts, strawberries and ice cream was over the top.
We probably will check out others places before we go back there again!
The place is dark, but appropriate for an Irish pub. I had the chicken curry and it was excellent. My date had the steak tips and said they were tough/gristly and didn't have much flavor. The service was excellent. We were there at dinner time, and it was pretty noisy, difficult to have a conversation. Overall though it was a good experience.
