We also love local and are proud to serve many local favorites from our craft beer selections that showcase just the right mix of imported Irish beers and regional favorites. Our food menu is comprised of elevated pub grub with a local twist.
Come in anytime for a pint, some food and some Irish hospitality. You are always welcome!

Great spot with beautiful views! We went for brunch and the menu options were fantastic!
So awesome! We were seated at a nice corner window with plush seats, where we could view all the harbor activity of the ferries and sailboats, etc. Menu is very reasonable, no bread or salad included, but for our moderate appetites we were all very full after sharing two really great chocolate tortes between 5 of us. There were 3 boys 27-22 yrs and my husband and I. Everyone had something different and everyone really liked their meal. Satisfying, homestyle type meals is the best way I can describe the food. We all ate from the main dinner menu (no sandwiches or salads). It is a really fun but nice atmosphere and I highly recommend taking visitors from out of state to enjoy the ambiance of the harbor and the comfort type food. We will be taking visitors here again for sure! We ate upstairs in the nicely redone dining room.
Not enough gluten free options for a person with Celiac disease. Only two items on the menu and no gluten free buns for burgers. Wait staff was courteous but not friendly. We were a party of 9 and the required gratuity was more than we felt was earned (70+). Food was very good. Our party at the last minute changed our reservation to 9 from the original 8 we reserved. The host was hesitant and almost "put out" to seat us due to ONE more person, despite that there were tables empty around us during our meal.
It happened to be a super busy evening at RiRa with the Derby playing downstairs and a 30th Derby-themed birthday party and a small wedding party upstairs where we sat. It was loud, but the table was a comfortable size and right in the window over the water. The service was excellent! Our server even put in our 2 yo's meal ahead of ours, to come out with the appetizer and I didn't even have to ask or prompt her. She was super sweet, attentive, and anticipatory. It was actually the best service we'd had anywhere in a long time. The fish 'n chips, which was the primary reason for our visit, was ever impressive, per usual—super fresh and cooked to perfection. Great local tap list as well. Love this place.
Five of us were here on a slow Monday night for a business meal, and we were really looking forward to a fun evening.
First... the appetizers were good and our meals were VERY good. I loved my Guinness Stew. The fish and chips were perfect with a light batter crust. My wife loved the meatloaf.
Pretty much everything else was a train wreck though. Long wait for glasses of water. Long wait for the server. Long wait for the drinks. (The restaurant was only 1/4 full).
My wife’s margarita was the worst we ever tried and they replaced it with a smaller (really!) one that was ok. The plates (all 5 of them) for the appetizers were dirty. No apologies. No comps. No manager.
The downstairs does have an Irish Pub vibe but upstairs there does not seem to be anything that says Irish Pub (other than the menu).
Did not have the fun evening we had hoped for. Will try elsewhere next time.
Excellent food for our Easter dinner! I always love the view and atmosphere at RiRA Portland! For a great time and food RiRA is the place to go!!
My only disappointment was not being able to be seated at a window table, which was free. I must compliment the chef on an outstanding lemon blueberry cheesecake.
Excellent service , good food, great location, reasonably priced
Had a table for two right on the canal. The chowder and fish tacos were delicious and our waiter was superb.
I very much enjoyed the ambiance. The food was fine and the service was slow.
Love coming here for brunch because of the beautiful seating upstairs. Makes us want to stay and lounge for hours. Breakfast was good but nothing out of the ordinary. Home fries are awesome. Bloody Mary’s are great.
We sat upstairs and the decor was modern with rustic and nautical flair. We shared several generous appetizers which were all equally delicious and enough for 5 ladies. The menu was diverse but not intimidating. It was a great spot for us to start our ladies night out.
The six of us had a nice table by the fireplace. Everyone enjoyed their meals including fish and chips ( delicious and a huge portion), Guinness stew, shepherds pie, and lamb burger (with gluten free bun). Service was good. Moving the giant couches in and out from the table is a bit of a challenge with 3 people sitting on each. Comfortable but regular chairs would be more practical.
Love the decor in the upstairs dining area. Nice water views. Comfy and cozy. Extremely limited gluten free options. So I can’t go back.
My friends arrived a few minutes ahead of me and were seated quickly and were able to enjoy the view before I arrived. The staff was on top of keeping our needs met. The food was delicious and the experience was wonderful for our out of town guest.
We arrived at 7, which you wouldn't think would be early-shift on a Friday in March, but our server seemed more interested in chatting with the other staff than checking on us. Maybe it's just a really tight crew? Anyway, when we forgot to order the appetizer, they were good about fitting it in and giving us time to eat most of it, which was great (maybe as a result, my wife's fish was overcooked, as was my burger, but neither to a disastrous level). We were seated on the water and enjoyed the nighttime view. Yeah, overall I'd say the view was the best thing but the food wasn't bad pub grub. Someday we might return, but next time we'll check out somewhere else.
I was on business and had a nice grain bowl with tuna in front of the fireplace table. Can’t wait to go back!
Good place to get together with colleagues or family, nice view of harbor
Have been eating in Portland for years and can't understand why I haven't been here before. Had the Irish Benedict. Gotta love when you can get a great interesting breakfast at 1pm. Great food, view and value.
Love the atmosphere upstairs overlooking the water and it’s great Irish comfort food.
A fantastic restaurant. Great service, great food, great views. We took my aunt and uncle who are from out of town and they cant wait to go back!
What a gem. We have been by Ri Ra for years thinking it was an Irish Pub with dark wood and fireplace, until we were ushered upstairs into a wonderful room with a table right on the water and facing a fireplace. It was so inviting we stayed after dinner and sat by the fire for a couple of more rounds. A true hidden gem. Our food was excellent.
Cozy fireplace with a fun water view
Great service. Beautiful daytime views. Food inventive and tasty.
Our group of 8 had a great evening of drinks & dinner with friendly and efficient service. Will go back again.
Made a reservation for New Year's Eve, seated upstairs it was a little noisy but it was a holiday. Food was good, I had the Pub Burger, others at the table had Fish and Chips, Gnocchi Mac and Cheese and the Lamb Burger, all were very good and fairly priced. Good selection of local rotating drafts. Also, the pub area downstairs is great to walk in and get a drink.
Food and service were great! It was a bit loud.
Service was a big issue. Each person made negative comments about how busy it was in the kitchen or how many food items they were out of. Our bus person stated it was like the Titanic in the restaurant. He was nice enough to talk about his medical ailments. Our smoked salmon was closer to a grilled cheese sandwich than an appetizer. I didn’t make a fuss as this would have embarrassed my wife but I was dissatisfied with this visit. I have been to this RiRa’s in Portland a couple of dozen times. This was not what I was used to usually the do a great job.
We went with friends on Christmas Day. Beautiful seating upstairs overlooking the ferries, friendly server, great fish and chips & Guiness, festive decor and fire in fireplace. Full tables but not noisy. Loved it and will probably make it a tradition.
Our second year of celebrating Christmas with dinner at RiRa's...we will be coming again next year! Nice to see an option including turkey, dressing, green beans...just like Christmas at home. Thanks so much!
Server was friendly and attentive and food was hot, well portioned and delicious. The duck poutine is phenomenal.
Everything about our experience was terrible. We were reluctant to dine at RiRa since I heard several complaints about their service but we were In town for the polar express and it was so close and they rooms reservations. I wish I listened to my friends warnings. It’s took over an hour for the children’s meals to come out which consisted of chicken fingers, French fries and elbow macaroni pasta. Chicken fingers wee like rubber, fries were cold and the pasta was cold and undercooked. Lamb stew was awful. Basically dog food in a bowl! We complained several times to our server who apologized but were never approached by anyone in management. The nail in the coffin was when the runner apologized, said the kitchen was understaffed and that he really wanted to make it up to us. He asked if he could get me a drink, I said yes..... I never received my drink. I would never dine here again and like my friends warned me, I would strongly discourage anyone from dining at RiRa!
Our waitress was super funny and very attentive! The food was good but a bit over priced for the quality. We loved the Guinness bbq chicken bits. Over all very good experience.
We had a holiday luncheon with our small office staff of 6 people. Food was great, service was excellent, loved sitting upstairs near the fireplace. Love the upstairs renovations!
Waitress was outstanding! Decor is always perfect. It was a little loud tonight but aside from that we had a great time.
Great selection...something for everyone. All of the food that we ordered was fresh and delicious. Local craft beer on tap and a wide selection of other drinks at the bar. Clean, comfortable, cozy and inviting atmosphere. Lots for fireplaces and various types of seating, some even including sofas! Nice view of the bay as well. Our waitress suggested an Irish coffee at the end of our meal and we were so glad she did, they were also fresh and delicious!!! Great place and great experience! Highly recommend!
Open on Thanksgiving - very few restaurants were! The food, service and casual atmosphere were exceptional. My portions, although delicious were not generous, but enough. Great irish pub menu and
really comfortable seating overlooking the water.
We were pleasantly surprised with the holiday menu and with the offerings on the regular menu as well. Our young waiter was affable and accommodating to our speed -- he did not rush us at all. We wanted to linger and he was ok with that. Our dinner was really delicious. We had a truly great experience.
First visit was on Thanksgiving - They had a nice selection on their holiday menu... Service was good although we felt rushed to order despite the restaurant not being that busy at the time. Nice environment for the occasion - Seemed like there were problems in the kitchen. Items were left off our plates as well as at the adjacent table, portion sizing was inconsistent and food came out a bit on the cool side instead of hot which was disappointing because it was all very good! Nothing too bad that I would not give the place another try!
Great food. Great service.
