Good Pub, nice views of docks/harbor..food quite good, service was also quite good.
Don't give out 10's unless I'm beyond impressed but again good pub, nice selection of beers
Unique and delicious tasting food. Beautiful view of the harbor.
I had to seek out the server for our second round of drinks (saw her eating a sandwich- clearly she had forgotten our order). We were a party of four. Another server brought out three meals. We assumed he was bringing back the fourth. After 10 minutes I again had to search out our server, who upon checking said the missing meal was delivered to another table. She comped a cup of soup but the missing meal arrived after the rest of us had finished. Would not recommend.
The food was great but the drinks were
mediocre at best. The waitress had no personality and was rushing us to order. Not a relaxing vibe.
Great variety of food choices, nice views from the top floor dining room
Loved it. Will definitely go again. The whole experience was great
They have the best French fries and onion rings I have ever tasted. Server was attentive and friendly. Will definitely come for a visit again
All excellent - drinks a little pricey but that the Old Port. Will be back! Love the chicken app.
Lunch with the family
Great food good price awesome service
The restaurant was short-staffed, but we weren't in a hurry. The service was good, food was great, view of the pier was fantastic. all in all a great time. LOTS of gluten free options!
The braised beef poutine was phenomenal. Great selection of Irish fare and more common meals -- something for everyone!
Not enough wait staff to cover the number of tables. Worst service I’ve ever experienced. Several tables were complaining and walking out as we were finally leaving after 2 hours of our waitress serve every table except ours. We saw the recognition on her face a few times as she noticed we had been forgotten about but never brought us anything we asked for (drinks, app plates, water..) We asked for drinks and water twice and we sat at our table for 45 minutes with nothing at which point we had to track her down twice to get the check. Very poor management if there was one on duty as several people were visibly upset.
We found the menu to be very limited. Not sure if this is due to the pandemic. Although the food we had was good, it was all too salty. From the appetizer (poutine shared by the table) to four different entrees, way too much salt!! Our server, however, was very good.
We were there for Easter. It was such a relaxing dinner. Having someone else cook and wait upon us allowed us to enjoy each other’s company to the fullest. The appetizers and meals were delicious and the service was wonderful.
Easter lunch! Lovely experience!
I always look forward to going when I'm in town. Food was delicious & staff was extremely friendly!
Dinner was fantastic and we had a beautiful table overlooking the harbor. Wonderful night!
Exceptional experience. Lovely space upstairs, great food, excellent service! Can't wait to return.
Food and drinks were great. Service could’ve been better, but great experience overall
Although they've changed their recipe a bit over the years, I'm still a huge fan of their fish n' chips, a very large, crunchy battered filet with a lot of fries on the side. My guest and I made reservations for lunch, which turned out to be unnecessary due to fewer people dining out these days. We chose a table by the bar next to the fireplace. Very cozy, great service, the food was superb. I tried their curry chicken pot pie, a real winner. Love this place.
Best Irish restaurant in Portland
This was our second visit the first time was incredible but this time we were disappointed. First, a seating chart would help prevent food runners from “auctioning” food.
Appetizers super salty, server kept forgetting to bring us things and we had to flag her down many times. At one point we got up to grab silverware and napkins from another table. When the food came out 4/6 people got their food and server looked at the other two and said “you didn’t want anything right” she forgot to place two orders. Mistakes happen but we would have expected a manager to visit our table, apologize, offer a dessert etc. We hope Management takes this feedback to train the team and offer the same level of service we experienced our first time.
We had a perfect table for 2 in small alcove during COVID. The food was very good, great following of health protocols. Thank you
Great Irish pub in down town Portland right on the water. If you can get an upstairs seat on the window it's well worth it.
Made a reservation for girlfriends birthday. However, they could not find it even after we showed confirmation. And sat us in the bar.
We all enjoyed our dinners on a recent visit. The pub burger, corned beef and cabbage (a special that night), and chicken sandwich were very good. Fries are outstanding! Service was good. The menu has less Irish fare than it used to though.
We had 5 adults in our party., all food Was delivered together and hot and drinks were delivered quickly.
They restaurant was offering two desserts that day and both were delicious! Our server was friendly, patient, and professional. Overall great time. I should note we ate in the upstairs dining room which has a fabulous view of the bay.
PLace was almost empty while we were there which is expected in the off season. The drinks were good, appetizers were average. Timing could have been better, we had out apps for about five minutes before main course was delivered. Lobster egg rolls had almost no lobster in them, fish and chips was served as one long piece if fish the size of the plate and made it difficult to eat. Overall, place is very cute and probably a lot of fun with a group of people, but food was average and nothing overly impressive or exciting.
Venison pie was outstanding. Can't stay away, will be back soon.
First time to eat for dinner. Food was great and such a lovely place and view.
Sunday Brunch always perfect at Ri-Ra
We liked the quiet and warm fireplaces. And great food!
Food was good, but seemed overpriced for what it was. Nice view of harbor, but it didn't have a particularly 'Irish Pub' vibe we expected.
We have been to Ri Ra many times in the past. So we had clear expectations which were not met. The menu was limited, the food mediocre and we left disappointed.
Reservation was at 5:30. Arrived at 5:15. Sign at entrance said, “please wait to be seated.” We waited about 10 minutes. People behind us waiting, too. Bartenders saw us. Nobody ever came over to help us. We left and went next door to eat. Not sure about what happened. Oh well.
We made a reservation for NYE thinking we would be upstairs however we got put in a table downstairs in the bar next to the band. It was impossible to hear and a completely different ambiance we were hoping for. I wish there was a way on opentable to know if you were upstairs or downstairs because experience is completely different.
Wonderful Christmas dinner! Lobster egg roll so good! Good venison pie. Not sure if fish got Gish snd ships was fresh but still good. Great selection of drinks plus had Smithwicks! Staff was pleasant and fun! Thank you😊
Even though it was Christmas, our waiter, Jack S, was right there when we needed something and was very personable. One wouldn't know there were many other tables he was waiting on, we were his "special guests.". The food was exceptional, and came promptly and pleasingly warm. I couldn't recommend RiRa more highly. This is our second Christmas visit and I'm certain not our last.
Christmas Day lunch with a friend, loved everything!
