Seven Sausage Gravy
kid-sized plain burger served with french fries
Food was great, arrived on time and tasted great. Besides that the service was not good. We asked for silverware and the server who delivered first meal looked very put out as he walked away. It was over 10 min while we waited for silverware. It was brought with our remaining food where we had to ask for water. Other than that we hardly had anyone check on our table. It was very difficult. A little frustrated that we had to tip prior to our food or service during the meal. If I had known I wouldn’t of tipped.
Get larg amount of excellent food for a very reasonable price.
Our first foray to eating in a restaurant since March. Reservations handled well, got the seat we wanted, safety precautions will done. I loved the at table ordering and payment process to further reduce contact. The food was a good as we remembered. Rhein Haus did an outstanding job.
Great service even in the middle of this pandemic. Quick ordering and food was brought out promptly
When this location first opened we gave it a try. I was very excited because my family is German. It was a horrible experience. The food was not good at all. So after over a years time we thought maybe it has improved. Not at all! It has gotten worse intact. Not many German dishes on the menu. Very limited if you think your going to a German restaurant and can't find many items of German dissent. Our meal came out on a cafeteria looking thing. The food was SO SO salty! It was not at all good. If you want German food try out Bruno's in Lakewood. It's so much better and less expensive too.
Awful! Pulled pork was drenched in sweet, watery barbecue sauce, and served in a paper bowl. The Schnitzel sandwich had a piece of Schnitzel on it that had obviously been premade and left to dry out in a warming tray...all three sandwiches were like shoe leather. No service, self serve on cell phone, or order at bar....tip suggested!! Literally a ghost town...word must be out.
It is a BBQ place now, with minimal German fare.
Love this place since it's dinner, a pub, and some fun stuff to do too! Nice people
Service was mediocre. Took a long time for anyone to come to our table after we sat down. Had to ask for waters several times...Finally got it toward the end of the meal.
The beet salad was delicious.
Wonderful restaurant to bring visitors. Great atmosphere with lots to do!
Can’t say that I’ve ever left this place hungry. Good food and beer. Wait staff if attentive and the service was quick. Will always keep coming back here.
Our first visit. The menu selection wasn’t very diverse. We decided on the Jaegermeister Snitzel and it was very good. It’s a little on the pricey side for certain items. The service and ambiance were great. Love the games!
Would go back for drinks, but the food wasn’t very good. Service was good, but they weren’t busy, which was surprising being a Friday and Valentines Day. Cool building with inside games. Was looking forward to the jagerschnitzel but barely ate any of it. They took it off our bill.
It was a great place for a German Valentine’s Day
Had an overall good experience. My wife got a bad glass of wine that was a bit off but the waiter was helpful and opened a new bottle. Problem solved. Thanks
We arrived for our reservation and got seated, we left after 30 minutes when nobody would take our orders.
It was ok. The food was not as good as I was expecting.
The combination of food, drink and fun activities make this a great location.
We had a great birthday party
We were there on a Sunday at 3:00 so not too crowded. That’s when the dinner menu started. Pretzels and beer were great. Vegan sweet potato cutlet was good. The meat eaters liked their meals but felt it was a thing special for the price. God place for kids and family.
As always excellent service and nice, knowledgeable wait staff. This is a busy place on a Saturday night but we never felt rushed and there was lots to watch and do. The pork shank is the best meal we have ever had there! So good!
Rhein Haus was a fun, delicious & unique restaurant for a fun family night out!
Service was attentive and personable and the food was great.
The hostess was beyond rude - my party was seated as I parked, I waited for 7 minutes as the hostess talked on the phone, the manager talked on the phone...... not so much as a word - ridiculous.
When I finally got the attention of a third hostess, the server ( blonde bob, yellow sweater, black skirt ) felt the need to argue with me about how long I waited without acknowledgement! We won’t be back.
We went for new year's. It was our first time as well, so it was a new experience.
I ordered the jagerschnitzel, but apparently they were out. It was only 730pm and they were out of food. Should have planned better. I got the doner instead. It was ok. Meat was dry and it was like warm. I could have gotten better and cheaper from a place in Seattle or even Arby's, which is funny because everything is expensive there and that's fast food.
The chicken sliders were not very good.
Overall kind of disappointed. Plus, after i made the reservation, they called me and actually said, we are "kicking people out" at 9pm because we gave a DJ coming in and there will be a cover charge. That was probably the worst way to call someone. Could have politely said, "we have special entertainment coming for the holiday and it will be a 21 and over only crowd. Service for underage wont be provided after 9PM and we politely ask guests to keep that in mind while dining with us." It was unprofessional to call me up and actually say we're kicking people out.
We won't be going back.
Stick to your ribs food - easy substitutions. We like the Rhein Haus, and wish the sides were as good as the sausage! Great beer selection.
We went to have Jager Schnitzel , it was sold out, my husband and I were super disappointed . I decided to order the sampler platter, chicken schnitzel, cheddar wurst, and brat wurst with a side of potato dumplings. The chicken schnitzel slider was bland, it was missing something. The brat wurst was delicious, and the cheddar wurst was overly salty. The potato dumplings were over seasoned. Whatever they use to season it it was over powering and perfumy. For the price the meal was disappointing. I
Great local spot to have dinner and drinks. Close to the Tacoma Little Theater.
All in all, this is a great place for the entire family to enjoy. Good food (large portions!), a great beer list and prompt/friendly service made for an enjoyable evening. We both had the jaegerschnitzel which was fantastic! It normally comes with red cabbage and garlic mashed potatoes, which my wife said were excellent. I substituted sour kraut and spaetzel and really enjoyed them as well. Great job Rhein Haus Tacoma!!!
Servers were wonderful
Loved the restaurant the last time we were there, but they have cut the schnitzel selection to 2 choices. The beer was good, wurst is good, dessert was good, got to watch 2 football games while we were there.
Our waiter, Gabe was great. The food was good and service once we were seated was perfect.
When I arrived to check in the first hostess looked through me like I was invisible, no smile or acknowledgement that I was waiting. The other girl arrived back and when I told her my name, she said "oh I tried calling you several times today because were not accepting OpenTable reservations for tonight but I think we might still have a table for you." Just a negative way to start the interaction.
Great tasting, authentic German food! Could eat here everyday. Service was terrific too. Reasonably priced, plenty of variety on the menu. I will definitely be back!
Our experience was mixed. I chose this place because I heard they had games and was family friendly. I had a couple hours to kill with my family between events in Tacoma and I thought this would entertain my kids. I didn't realize most of the games cost extra. The corn hole and bocce was posted as free on Sundays (which it was when we visited) and so we started a game of corn hole, when a server told us that the court was reserved for a private party (not posted anywhere, and another server told us we could play). At least she gave us a a free round of mini golf as a consolation prize. My kids enjoyed that. The food is OK for German food, but let's be honest, German food is not that great. The giant pretzel was good, as was the sidecar cocktail (I don't do beer, which is mostly what they serve). Not sure we'll be back.
All the servers were fabulous, professional, gracious, And fun to talk to. There’s a fireplace with a giant Jenga you can hang out with to have coffee with friends before you go to your table. They have a really neat looking indoor golf course as well as beanbag toss and board games. All done very tastefully, we’re not talking about Dave & Buster’s here.
The double pork shank I had was one of the best pieces of meat I’ve ever had my life. The fried brussels sprouts were on point. And the vegan options were out of this world.
Guarantee you I will be back.
Excited to visit the Rhein Haus in Leavenworth this summer!
We visited The Rein Haus for the first time after the TSO concert at the Tacoma Dome, with our family. We had the most amazing time! Great food, awesome service, entertaining and beautiful environment! We were able to play a round of putt putt which was a blast!! Thank you for creating such an incredible place to gather, have great food, service and entertainment!
Great meal wonderful service and accent location for group gatherings
Great place for a date night! Get the ginormous pretzel!
This is a new family favorite. Everyone loved the food and the atmosphere. It's not cheap, but worth every penny. I would highly recommend getting a pretzel. They're still warm when they come out and they taste amazing.
