Rhein Haus - Seattle
What Insiders Are Saying
Rhein Haus is your stereotypical biergarten in Capitol Hill, and it’s great. There’s a patio, glass boots for beer, and comically large pretzels.
Food was terrible- almost as if they served old food from the previous day
Wonderful food, plenty of food, two take out containers. Bloody Mary cottail was weak. Beers were good.
My new favorite place, great homemade sausages, fresh beer, amazing strudel
Great food and great beers. Wish we could have played bocce but there was event that evening.
The restaurant is great, I only wish they played German music. It would have made the experience much better!!
Very good food & selection. Very efficient & personable staff.
Good service when we arrived & during our meal
Excellent German food. The Smorgasboard item on the menu was a great mix, and more than enough for two hearty appetites!
We've been here several times and never ceased to enjoy it! Great food, pleasant environment, and kind, attentive staff. Great place with amazing atmosphere, especially during a Seahawks game!! They have bar seating, games, and are kid friendly.
The food came out burnt and did not taste like the German food I had in Germany, base on my experience, I would not recommend this restaurant if you are looking for the type and taste of the food you were use to in Europe.
love this place!!
Excellent menu and outstanding service. Very glad that my coworker recommended this place for my company's annual holiday party. Everyone had a great time!
We have been earing at several restaurants in Germany and in Austria and we love schnitzel. This is the main reason why we were looking for an authentic German restaurant here in Seattle. However, it was cold and pretty dark inside, the atmosphere in general was not at all inviting and the food (we ordered pork schnitzel with potato salad) was just mediocre. The breading of the schnitzel was drenched with some sauce and the potato salad was very greasy. Overall, we hoped for something much better.
Our family met up here for a birthday celebration. It is a great place to go for celebrations! The food was great, we got a wonderful table where we could see the Bocce games, and the wait staff were attentive. We have never played Bocce before - what fun! Easy to learn and you can often play more than one game within the allotted time. As far as the food goes - the hardest part is choosing what to eat! They have a good-sized selection and it all sounds great! We will have to go again so we can try something else on the menu.
Love the German beer and food is great. Some touches like jalepenos on the flamkuchen (German flatbread pizza) detract from some of the dishes. Good German food doesn't need a redo. When you want German food, though, this is a great place. Fun with groups, especially.
We were a party of 8 for a birthday brunch and football outing - the drinks were great and the food and service even better. The waitress was very attentive to us for along 4.5 hour stretch and even gave the birthday a beer on her! Definitely will be back, great for groups!
The food was fantastic the huge pretzel was amazing, service fantastic, they catered to all our needs and moved our time earlier for Bocce. Second time there and i would definitely go back!
Great place to go for watching sports and having a beer and snacks with friends. We like the shareable food better than the entrees. My friend missed a step, fell and hit her head. The staff was incredible as they helped her before the ambulance came.
Extremely noisy. Goulash soup was good, but Jaegerschnitzel was burnt and there was hardly any mushroom sauce on it. It was also pretty bland - needed some seasoning. Spaetzle was also burnt. Peanut Butter Crack & Salted Caramel Ice Cream was weird - the ice cream tasted bitter. Although it was really busy, the server did a decent job of being attentive.
Food was good, I liked the big bierhaus feel but the music was more geared to the bar crowd (loud and harsh) than the 6pm dinner crowd. I wasn’t expecting accordions but the ambience could be improved if I could eat without my cutlery vibrating from the music.
The website said they opened at 4. We got there at 4 because we had an event at 6. We found out they only have happy hour from 4-5. We couldn't order off the full menu until 5. Only a few snacks available. Also it was very hot. The doors were open and no air conditioning. The waiter did bring us a menu a little before 5 and the food was pretty good.
Vibe of restauarant was cool and food was pretty good, especially the pretzel. I would have rated higher but we sat outside and could not get any service. We decided to try inside and our waiter spent most of his time flirting with the table across from us (not that I blame him). We had to speak up to get anything and to get our check. I would recommend we just probably had some bad luck.
Beware the parking. As in--none reasonable. However, the food was delicious--I had the pork schnitzel with apple slaw; my friend has bratwurst with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. The service was perfect, attentive but not intrusive. I did like it a lot.
Great food... Reception SUCKS
Make reservations and seated at bar.... Excuse... We have several large parties ... So the two of us don't matter
Great staff, wonderful food.
As German visiting the USA it was great to be able to eat at reinhaus and feel a little bit like home. Some of the dishes are slightly Americanized but overall very authentic and tasty. I would recommend going there.
Food was not at all good--poorly cooked and presented. The pretzel was pretty good though.
Reminded us of outdoor bier garden fun in Germany. Great food choices from Germany and great beers. Reasonable happy hour menu also . The kase spaetzle was to die for. Loved the group size pretzel with an assortment of dips .
Great place for Mother’s Day brunch! We were able to get a patio table to enjoy the beautiful weather 😊
I had their chicken and mash potatoes and they were delicious! My server was also very nice and provided us with great customer service.
I love German food, because I'm a German descendant, and this satisfies my need for brats, schnitzel, beer, pretzels, etc. They have a lot of German beer on tap, which is great!
Someday I want to try out the bocce.
Really cool German restaurant, but no German music was played for the two hours we were there. Maybe on weekends?
Came here with a large group of friends to celebrate my birthday and was more than impressed! Our waitress was very friendly, attentive, and just simply adorable! The food is excellent - definitely recommend the habanero cheddar wurst and the small pretzel with horse radish cream cheese! My friends brought a birthday cake that the staff allowed us to enjoy and brought us small plates and utensils. Have been to the Tacoma location but everything about the cap hill location is WAY better! Didn’t get a chance to play bocce ball but I will definitely be back to give it a try!
Loved their brunch. Doener and schnitzel were our choices. Fast service. Quiet and kid friendly.
TV blaring. Asked twice to turn down the volume. No luck. Waiter was excellent. Food was pretty bad. But the beer and the pretzels were amazing!
It was Valentine's Day and we showed up a bit early. Even though we had a reservation we were sat by the front door which was cold particularly in view of the cold weather and for my wife who has fibromyalgia. Food was OK but not really German but someone's variation. Beer and schnapps were very good.
Great experience on Valentine’s Day for my friends birthday. Wasn’t overly romantic filled except the heat shaped giant pretzels which were so amazing, we got two!
The food was mediocre. The server was fun but she took forever to come around. We were there 2 hours and 1 minute and a lot of that time was just waiting for the server to come back. I definitely won’t be back.
Very short pour on wine, while not cheap. Food is bland. Everything tastes the same. Huge hall, not intimate. Lots of little kids screaming. Parking is not good.
First off, I made a reservation for a table of 8. They are known for large tables, so I figured it would be no problem since they took the reservation. When we got there, we had two tables of 4 next to each other. This is NOT a table for 8. We ended up only being able to talk to our friends at our own table, as you couldn’t hear the conversations at the table next to us.
Thankfully the food was good as the service was TERRIBLE. It took 3 hours for a meal that should have taken 2, at the most. We ended up bussing our own table, since we were seated next to it. Server very inattentive and then got our bills wrong. But service was included, so he didn’t care.
Beer, sausages and mustard, and bocce ball - what else could you want?
