The service was good, atmosphere nice. Food was ok, nothing special.
All the food was delicious! There us a great selection. Our server Daphne was perfect! Wonderful place - I can't wait to go there again!
We were disappointed that we had to wait over an hour for our dinner. No-one came to apologize or to explain the delay, or to offer to refill our water glasses or ask if we wanted another drink. When the food did come, the steak that one of us ordered medium-rare was cooked medium-well and was cold - it seemed like the meals were poorly timed and were not completed at the same time. These are just a few of the many mis-steps that were made throughout the evening. We won't be back.
Overall good but food creativity and service has gone down slightly since switching from RFK
Good physical venue that under delivers on service and food.
The eggplant pasta special was DELICIOUS. 5 stars
This is such a great addition to Needham! The Mother's Day menu was delicious.
Service was awful. Food was terrible.Risotto looked like mush and tasted awful. The bar area and ambience are nice. Will not go back
it took two hours for our meal. waiter was obnoxious.
Setting is hip and energetic/lively. Sitting arrangements varied from wide counter looking into kitchen to plush living room chairs and standard tables. Food was well presented, nice portions and quite excellent. Their weak spot is wait staff and timing. Our drinks took much to long to arrive and the wine arrived 1/3 the way through the meal...they need to work this out. But will we go back, Yes for sure.
The bar was a disaster. Drinks came late, and this is not the only time we have experience this. The waitress thought we had put our order in when we had not. The couple sitting next to us left after eating their salad, could not wait any longer.
Very few tables were seated yet not enough wait staff. Finally a bartender came out to take our order. $18 for a so-so burger. I’m pretty sure I’ll never go back - particularly when there are lots of better restaurants close by.
Fun cool vibe - we had front row seats to all the action going I’m in the kitchen! Sit at the counter/bar to experience this! The shrimp and avocado toast was so good and got me really excited for the rest of the meal. Partner had the delicious homemade short rib pasta dish (think grandmas but updated) I enjoyed the special of the night- chicken tacos! These had many unexpected flavors including pineapple and it was a very enjoyable dish! We finished up our meal with another unusual lovely dish - pineapple lavender cheesecake! Definitely will return 💙
Chicken wing appetizer was delicious. Artichoke risotto was bland and I only ordered it because the rest of the menu looked uninspiring. My hubby had flank steak and it was cold and charred. The only side was a handful of potato spears. We both had such high hopes and left hungry and disappointed. We sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly and service was great. Drinks were $13 each so we left and went to a local bar for more drinks and apps. I don’t think we will be going back though the lounge did look comfortable.
This restaurant has only been open a few months according to Paul the bartender. The space is beautifully decorated, the lounge was so warm and inviting, we stayed there for my friend's birthday dinner rather than the table we booked. I had the blood orange infused tequila which they make in house and it was fantastic, the honey wings were delicious and perfectly cooked. The best thing was the smell of cookies baking while we were ordering our dinners, one waitress noticed us all swooning over the smell and brought over a sample, which was pure heaven! I had the falafel burger with the best french fries I've ever eaten, both of my friends had the salmon and everyone was happy with their meals. While it was a bit quiet for a Thursday night, I can see the potential of the restaurant and hopefully people start coming in, the food was delightful, wait staff was attentive and sweet and our bartender was awesome! It was a bit expensive, but it is located in Needham so that was to be expected, all in all a great experience.
Unexciting. Food okay, value low, ambience very mice, service good.
With a few changes could be better!
Food and apps were good. Our server was wonderful! He took great care of us and was polite/friendly. Would not recommend getting dessert or coffee after a meal. The cappuccino came from a pod and our group couldn’t eat the desserts we ordered cause they were awful. The hangar steak, salmon, and monkfish plates were well prepared and worth a try. The shrimp appetizer was our favorite out of the apps we ordered. The fries and chickpeas were good as well.
Food menu is good, one of our entrees was cold but was addressed promptly and satisfactorily and the food was good. service was great
mediocre dining experience, food was slightly overpriced. service was average. If you are looking for mediocrity, here it is.
Ambience great, drinks great, but steak frites were overly charred on the outside, as were the potatoes, so didn’t have the best food experience.
Overall it was a good dining experience. The service was excellent and everyone in our party was pleased with the food. There were no raves but no complaints. We will definitely be back.
Great Friday night dinner with friends. Three of us shared a bottle of wine, individual meals, followed by a cup of coffee all served by a friendly waiter who let us leisurely catch up in conversation. (total cost per person $35-) A "neighborhood gem" for us.
Vibrant lively restaurant in Needham with good food if a little expensive . Seems like they need to work a little more on their timing and having waitstaff check in with diners and bring drinks more frequently. The Counter (as opposed to the bar) set up is interesting and fun but they could do more with it (i.e. have somebody on the other side of the counter)
An excellent meal for the two of us. The mussels are outstanding as was my monk fish, which came with nonpareil asparagus. A post dinner delight was the ice cream sandwich. No, not the one of my youth but this adult form is a must.
We had a wonderful meal Saturday evening at this new restaurant. We had the appetizers Gilled Octopus and Wing which were delicious. For dinner there were hamburgers, which were great and the Steak Frites, outstanding. The only thing I would suggest for this new happening place is that they place some type of ceiling buffers. It was very noisy with the music and conversation. I like to go out to dinner and hear the person across the table from me. Otherwise worth the visit.
The service was very poor though the restaurant was empty on a stormy night. We waited for every part of the service, to get drinks, to order, we had to ask for water 3 times.
We asked for bread to be told that it is not "part of their usual service".
On the other hand, the waitress was in a big hurry to clear our table even though 3 of us (out of 4 ) were still eating.
The check was brought but no one came around for 10 minutes to collect the payment.
There were a lot of staff standing around chatting. No one acknowledged us when we were leaving. This did not leave a good overall impression of caring customer service. The food was pretty good.
Had a delicious meal here with my boyfriend last weekend. He got the burger and fries and love it. I tried the fries and they were yummy. I got handmade pasta with short rib ragu and it was fantastic. The pasta was so fresh and cooked perfectly and the ragu was delicious. We sat at the "bar" that overlooks the chefs in the kitchen which is exposed for all to see. It was a cool vibe -- we definitely plan to come back.
Staff was friendly, head chef did a great job to ensure our dinner was prepared and presented correctly and we had a great time. Thank you. Ed Murphy
First exp. there. Service, Food, Ambiance all stellar. Noise level very quiet as school vaca week and unexpected snow/wintry mix kept some folks home, but would bet it is extremely lively and eclectic otherwise. Enjoyed immensely, and would definitely go again.
We expected a little more from the new chef and name change. Our wings were over done and dry. My husband ordered the special, steak frites or something to that affect and was somewhat bland. My mussels were the winner, very yummy.
We went with another couple to try the new menu out. The greeter, waitress and runner were very helpful and cheerful. We had questions answered and were able to try the wine before making a decision on which varietal. A bit pricey for a glass, but I guess that’s the going rate for wine these days.
The food was very tasty and flavorful. We had Caesar salads to start. We had the mushroom salads for entree with salmon on it. They were delicious and ample portions. If one wanted it for a starter, then split it. Salmon cooked nicely.
Short rib looked delicious and flavorful. Half chicken was moist and flavorful with nice starch and vegetables. The price for chicken is a little steep, but I suppose if you split a salad and chicken, it would be more reasonable.
All in all a nice evening out. Will go sit at the food bar if just 2 of us.
It was a little chilly and noisy, but that’s the way it is in an industrial setting with open kitchen.
All in all, was a nice
The food was excellent.
Quality of food ok at best. Observed salads tossed by bare hands in kitchen. Wait staff young, nice but inexperienced. Takes awhile to get your meal.
We tried this place previously before it was renamed and thought we would give it a second chance after a not so memorable experience. I’m sorry to say that the restaurant has actually gotten worse. We had issues with both the food and the service. You basically get a poorly cooked American fast casual experience in the time it takes to enjoy an 8 course prix fixe menu. Overall we found the food to be very poorly cooked, generally over seasoned and difficult to swallow with one member of our party feeling completely sick after eating her dinner with other members of our party feeling completely bloated. Service was also not on top of its game. The food took forever and the little things aren’t considered (e.g., having appetizers that you ordered to share for the table delivered and taking 20 minutes to be able to flag down a server to request plates so we could share).
We decided to try L&K despite the former RFK not having great reviews and we were pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent top down. Very friendly, fun atmosphere. The food was good and the open kitchen is massive. I would come back but I think it would be most fun to sit at the counter and watch the food being prepared or in the lounge for a cocktail. The decor was also pretty modern but somehow still cozy and inviting for a small group gathering.
We decided to go here for a girls dinner out, and we had a very nice evening. It's a relaxing and warm ambiance, our waitress was very friendly and professional, and the food was good. The menu is fairly small, with some choices that didn't seem that appetizing. But we ordered a couple appetizers to share and they were good. Our entrees were good, too. We stayed a long time just catching up with each other, and no one rushed us at all. I would go back again for sure.
Won’t return. While it’s a convenient and fun space the food continues to be a disappointment despite a new chef and new menu. Far better options in the neighborhood - better food, better service and better price / value.
The food is good. Limited menu and the service is really slow and we were ignored
When I made my reservation I chose standard when also given the options of bar/counter/hightop. When we arrived, they had it as in the lounge. Next time I'd call to avoid the confusion. We sat at the counter and loved seeing what was happening. The food was very good, but portions varied widely by the dish - the burger comes with a MOUND of fries, the steak frites had ~5. It was a little weird to see everyone else at the counter get a complimentary taste/bite and not us, but we liked our meals.
The menu here has a fair assortment of unusual items or presentations. We have enjoyed the beans and pork belly, meatballs, quinoa salad, and cheese burger. The pork chop was fine but rather plain; it could have used a sauce or some other source of interest. Very attentive service. The seating is very comfortable and warm (in winter), the room is cool chic, and there is plenty of kitchen viewing.
