The food was very creative and most dishes had an interesting tasty twist. The portions were perfect for sharing. We were with 6 people and everyone was happy with their choices! I was very happy because Reyla was my suggestion!!
We have been several times for both special occasions and everyday dining. The food and service are always exceptional. We really enjoy the small plate idea and sharing although it’s deceiving you get very full!
It was our second time back, and it certainly surpassed our fond recollection of our meal a few months ago. The drinks - we had a Hey Reyla, King Crusher, and New Jack City - were a great start to the meal. The standout dish for me was the Brussell Sprouts, where the brussels sprouts were barely the main attraction - the entire plate was composed with such care that each of the components: the Israeli Couscous, fried shitake mushrooms, and the butternut squash ribbons were as much of a delight to eat solo as they were in combined. All of the food was so complex and refreshing, and the friends we've sent for dinner have echoed the same. We will certainly be back.
Always wonderful. Pro service. Food, amazing.
Great food outside the box, great flavors and creative menu
Good advice recommending 4-5 small plates for 2. Loved the service, steak skirt and Israeli salad. Well timed presentation of dishes. While normally a fan of octopus, this preparation was my least favorite of the evening.
Awful average food. Horrible bright lights. Terrible cheap decor. I came here on the opening and the food was good but lighting and ambience awful but I thought I would give it another try but now the food is just no more then an average kebab house. The smell of the restaurant was disgusting. I will never go back.
Cocktails at the bar: one out of two was very good; the other sounded good on paper but was very bad on the palate.
Food: shared four (three?) small plates with my wife; no complaints but not blown away.
Waiter: Nice kid; tried to please.
Cost: Very reasonable with three glasses of wine
Noise: Not horrible but hard to have private conversation.
Decor: Blah. Modern chic, I guess, but it is cold and doesn’t really fit with the cuisine
Everything was great with the standout dish being an octopus special. I was stuffed already when it can out and couldn’t stop eating it. They were fantastic in working with me to find something on menu for my seven year old son. Service overall was excellent. We live in the area and frequently dine in Asbury Park and intend to go back to REYLA soon
Awesome food. Great for sharing. The falafel was the best I have ever had. Will definitely go again.
Very enjoyable evening with very creative dishes, and friendly service.
A fun way to share delicious food. You won't be disappointed!
Service and food outstanding
A+ been there 3 times great every time
The food is unbelievable! Each dish took my husband and I by surprise with how flavorful and delicious it was. The service was equally as good. We ended up at Reyla because our original reservation at another restaurant fell through and we're happy it did! We'll definitely be back!
The evening started great with perfectly executed cocktails by Dan the bartender and an order of hummus. Things deteriorated once we were seated at our table. Service was slow, sporadic, and untrained as our server knew nothing about any of the wines nor offered to bring over anyone that did. We ordered several small plates and after waiting 15 minutes between one plate and the next, we asked for the check and canceled the rest of the meal. A manager came over and tried to smooth things over but the multiple issues including one dish that was inedible, left us no choice other than to leave.
It’s unfortunate as we had been to Reyla when it first opened and several times over the past year and a half and it was great.
We eat in Asbury Park all the time and this restaurant is exceptional for it's authenticity and incredibly flavorful tapas dishes. Try the cauliflower, brussel sprouts, ceasar salad (BUT....minus or on the side fried white anchoives); Lamb burgers were wonderful as was the perfect brioche bun and sauce. Best was the chicken kabob and salmon. Our server was really knowledgeable and was always anxious to ask how each dish was prepared and why we liked the preparation. Wines are not familiar but we had a lovely Sauvignon Blanc from Lebanon. Mostly, everything was Middle Eastern (including the wine) and we'll be back for more. Hoping the menu will expand - hope to come with more people next time so we can try more dishes. We had 6 plates and it was plenty for the 2 of us. Can't wait to come back!
Great restaurant for people who like tapas, interesting food, and unusual flavors. Awesome cocktail menu too!
Have been to Reyla several times now.Quality of food is consistent.
Great date night! Small plates to share and great drinks.
Food was excellent. Hosting could be improved.
Excellent spot in Asbury Park. Fun, delicious drinks, good food all around, enjoyable space. We'll be back!
Outstanding as always ! Thank you Jamie Dodge!
Spectacular meal! Bursting with flavor, each dish was beautifully served with the freshest ingredients.
Fantastic first experience at Reyla! My wife and I enjoy tapas dining from time to time so we were very happy with our selections- brussel sprouts, short rib, skirt steak, lamb burger sliders and octopus. Portion sizes and prices were perfect and the food was plated beautifully. The food tasted absolutely wonderful. We had a server, Mike, who was smart and professional enough to tell us that he was a new but would do the very best he could to take care of us. He was gracious and accommodating, not at all intimidated being “the new guy” and at the same time courteous to all his guests. That young man will do very well at Reyla in the future, so be sure to ask for him as your server.
It was a great food and drink experience, but staff could be friendlier. I do miss the Shashuka and some other items from the original menu.
Reyla is one of our favorite restaurants. Innovative and fresh food, great drinks and top notch service.
Everything was excellent. The restaurant is so comfortable. All of the staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was great. Great wine list for wines that are not the common place. Can’t wait to go back.
Would recommend for a fun night out!
Amazing! We enjoyed sharing the small plates with friends. Each one was better than the next. Can't wait to go back. Thank you!
We have been here several times. We really enjoy Reyla. The chef does a great job with great creative dishes. Bartenders make great creative drinks that aren't sweet. Hostess is always nice. Service is great. No complaints here and we will continue to eat there.
Overall Reyla was pretty good and we will return. Loved the bar, all in white with a limited selection of local booze displayed and a creative drink menu with quality ingredients; not overpriced for the quality and size of the drinks. Friendly, professional barkeeps too, seating not too cramped or stuffy. Big win.
The food is small plate style and they are small, but all fresh and yummy. We splurged and went for the family style duck confit special (3x the cost of anything on the menu) which everyone serving us said was great but wouldn't be on the menu for long. It was "all that", delicious and great presentation.
Delicious pita served as needed throughout the stay. Upscale, relaxing, open, soft lighting amd not your usual pale blue Mediteranean motif.
Sunday Supper is awesome!
Outstanding Eastern Med food in a lively atmosphere. Great place for sharing a variety of small plates. Interesting wine list with some cool regional choices. House made hummus and spreads are always fresh; essentially everything on the menu is fresh and delicious. Especially liked the sous vide octopus that is on menu right now. Recommended for a fun date night or group night out in AP.
First time to Reyla. An excellent experience. Waiter made great recommendations. Another outstanding restaurant in Asbury.
Server made nice recommendations and the food and cocktail menu was perfect for sharing and trying new things
After reading reviews here for a while, my husband and I finally tried Reyla. We admittedly were a bit skeptical when we first arrived - the decor is stark and is, what we refer to as, hipster trendy. But once seated we began to feel more at ease. The wait staff is relaxed, helpful and attentive. We asked for recommendations and were not disappointed. My husband loved the octopus and immediately stated he would come back just for that. I had the Israeli salad and the Short rib - both very good. The salad was very refreshing and the short rib soft and spicy. We also had the brussel sprouts - again very tasty. Drinks were as unique as the food. My only complaint and disappointment is the pour on the drinks. My drink had a huge chunk of ice in it so I maybe got 5 good sips. So be sure to ask for very little ice. Overall the food is unique and flavorful.
Reyla is the best restaurant that i've been to in a long time. The food is excellent, and If I could I would eat at Reyla every single day.
Creative and really delicious! New menu, impeccable and friendly service. Weeknight in Asbury during the off season so quiet at first but filled up as the night went on for a moderate noise level. Clean, modern and simple yet very comfortable. The menu choices were beyond interesting. Lots of vegetarian and gluten, dairy free options along with plenty of meat dishes too. The chef here worked hard to deliver such quality combinations of flavor, lots of layers but uncomplicated at the same time.
Will definitely be back. The restaurant scene in Asbury continues to impress!
We've been here a few times now, and it has not disappointed. Food, cocktails, and service are all great. I suggested the lamb burger, or the shakshuka.
