Very friendly, helpful and pleasant people there.
Food was delicious-m and so “tastefully“ presented.
That French toast is a winner no matter what time of day it is!👏🏾
A special Open Table promotion enticed us to try Rewind which is far off our beaten path for weekend restaurants. Rewind appears to be newly opened. The crowd was sparse even for a Sunday evening in downtown DC. Thus, we were greeted immediately and given a choice of seats. I ordered the chicken and waffle that was served in good time but was a bit overdone. We might try Rewind again if we are in walking distance in the area or visiting the adjacent Decades night club. Nearby parking garages are closed Sunday evening making parking a real hassle. That was the only real downer for the evening. We should have taken Metro. The Farragut North station is a short walk away.
Casual and fun! Always a hit
Awesome place very low key and the food is awesome. Definitely will be back
Hard to give a review as we never went inside. Outside there were crowds partying in the streets and loud music coming from the restaurant. Women were dressed like they were going clubbing. The smell of marijuana was in the air and we think someone was puking on the sidewalk. With all that, we did not go inside to eat with our three kids under 12.
Wine was extremely expensive! House red $12! Had lunch two doors up and house wine was $7 & it was a much better pour!
My experience here was terrible. The service was the worst part. I don’t believe there were enough waiters, so the manager was trying to do everything. We paid for bottomless mimosas, which weren’t constantly filled. Not to mention, there’s only one pitcher per table, which is going to go fast with a table of 3 or more. We spent so much time waiting for assistance. By the time I got my food, it was cold. They need better organization and help!
We are a family of 5, on vacation. This diner is not family friendly, very very loud music. We stayed anyway because the kids were hungry and the menu sounded great. But they were then out of many of the items we wanted to order. Very kind and friendly staff, but do not go there with young kids or if you want specific things from their menu.
Located next to a club, this is the perfect place to stop by after drinking for a good breakfast. The food was good. But there aren't real tables here; mostly couches around coffee tables like you find in a club. If you want a regular, eat-around-a-table brunch place, which is what we were looking for, I'd suggest going somewhere else. If you want an interesting, brunch-on-your-lap casual experience, this place is good.
The food was tasty enough.
We were there early evening and could tell by the DJ presence and livelier by the minute music that things were going to get quite cranked up for a pleasant club scene vibe.
The seating was just a little too low for my taste but they did have high chairs also.
Still, a perfect spot for a drink and some musical entertainment.
“Classic” and “premium” are not words I’d use to describe this place. Food was mediocre. Service was worse. Wouldn’t recommend, not with so many better options around Connecticut ave and DuPont Circle.
Really good food and fast service.
We had a great time at Rewind Diner! The staff were super-friendly and accommodating for our large party, and the food was great. Will definitely return!
I took my out-of-towner relatives there for brunch and really wish I hadn't. They were out of 90 percent of the things we tried to order, and they didn't tell us they were out until the food started coming -- for example, my mother originally ordered a waffle with SoCo covered peaches; she received two plain, dry pancakes. They even told us they didn't have hot water for tea. (The server actually said to us, "We don't usually have this on hand." ... you don't have WATER on hand?!) The server was unapologetic and ignored our table most of the time. When the food did arrive, it was mediocre at best. Easily the worst dining experience I've had in D.C. in years. Stay far, far away.
Lettuce in side salad was wilted and sour tasting. Asked for no cheese on the veggie burger. It had been put on and instead of changing the bun, they simply removed the cheese (could see the remnant on the bun). Was sick the next day and while can’t be certain it was from the food, will not chance it again
I used a groupon here, and though the food was good, the setting was more like a lounge than restaurant. The only seating was at the bar or on lounges with low tables. The server was very attentive.
Ordered the hot dog and took over 30 minutes to arrive
We appeared to be one of the first ones in for the day. The food was good and quick.,the service was great as well.
This is a very good vibes restaurant where the staff and food is always very good. I always have a great time here.
They were out of so many items to include meals on the menu and chilled wine that is supposed to be served cold. The ladies restroom had a horrible smell and once the wine was chilled the bartender didn’t even pour a full glass. I wouldn’t recommend this place for dining. We were the only patrons there at the time and service was still bad.
Very inattentive staff. Dead there and no wonder they are offering a groupon too.
The service was horrible and waitress was nowhere to be seen. The resturant was part of a nightclub and we were ID in order to enter and people just constantly walked through on their way to the club. It was very loud. I would only recommend going if they were giving bonus points.
I was at Rewind for an impromptu date night with my partner. The place was pretty dead when we got there, so I didn't foresee any issues with slow service. I should have known we made a bad decision as soon as we entered. The host was friendly, however, the bartender/server lacked some personality. They were out of at least 5 things on the menu, which we only found out after we had already placed our order. Thirty minutes had passed and we still haven't received our beers. Our server, instead, was flirting at the bar with a patron. We thought maybe she was going to bring our beers with our food, but no. The table next to us got their food and drinks before us even though we placed our order before they got there. Anyhow, our food came (separately about 5 min apart) with our beers. My burger looked very unappealing and dry (I asked for medium). Not only that it was missing a pickle, they were also out of curly friends, but we weren't made aware of it. We asked for our check as soon as we were done eating, and to our surprise, the server still charged us for our beers that never came. She made a joke about forgetting them, which was the first friendly comment she made all night, and took them off the check and gave us a 20% coupon for our next visit. Knowing that I would never go back to Rewind, I almost left the 20% coupon as her tip. However, being emphatic towards her possibly having a bad day, we left her with at least 20% tip. I just hope she treated the other patrons better.
I went to Rewind Diner for their all you can eat weekend brunch. Even though the restaurant was almost empty when I went, the service was slow and they were out of many of the items on the menu. The food that they did have was mediocre in quality at best. The only positive was that the mimosas were excellent!
felt like we bothered the bartender by being on time for our reservation but it was worth the 1,000 bonus points which was the only real reason we booked it.
My friend and I were enticed to come here due to location and 1000pt bonus on OpenTable. The waitress Brenda was so helpful and nice. The margarita was really weak, and that is the only con. Food portion is good for a hungry person, Decor is cozy and retro, as advertised. I would return even without bonus points, but they did what they were meant to...got me to try the restaurant, Win-Win.
Made a reservation for my birthday ... arrived right on time, a man told us there was an event and we could not enter or eat there. We received no notice or phone call. Family came from out of town to eat here. When we asked why we didn’t get any notice about this, we were told “i don’t know. Sorry”. Very disappointed not a place to eat. Went to another place around the corner and they did anything they could to get us in. Way more professional than this place.
Really fun Diner food location. Service was attentive and quick. Food was typical Diner food- that means large proportions of delicious comfort food. And reasonably priced. Recommended.
Great food and great service. Came in on a Saturday afternoon ordered the philly cheese steak, juicy lucy burger and mozzarella sticks. All delicious!
Delicious meat loaf!
Amazing! We think so, too.
Better than expected. The manager/owner is especially attentive.
Thank you for coming! We hope to see you again soon.
We went for a birthday, the ambience is great! Great spot for groups and the music is fun. Food was good as well!
Upon entering the establishment, we found it to be completely unlike what the online photo & 5star rating would have suggested. It was more like a "hole in the wall" place. As a result, we walked out & found a much nicer tavern nearby.
Not enough servers, appetizer took 30 minutes to come to the table. Did not bother to order more food
Oh wow! Let's have you come back soon. Please email us and let's make your next experience better.
The manager Jason was great and helpful. It was a little cold but it was cool and would visit again
Only people in the restaurant and I think we may been interrupted the waitress by coming in. She was on her phone the whole time. Had to ask for drinks and then ask her to come take our order and again when we were done. Food was not horrible but not great. No spoon served with soup and she never came back over to check on us. Would not recommend to anyone
$37 for 2 sodas, a bland hamburger and a simple grilled cheese. There was nothing particularly bad about the food, but also nothing that would bring me back. The server wasnt knowledgeable about the food and seemed like he was completely uninterested in being there. I liked the music?
More of a Bar/Lounge than a restaurant. Would return to experience the later aspect of the nighttime to see / enjoy the “Bar Scene” atmosphere.
it was a cool place to go get a drink but definitely NOT to eat!
The wings (lemon pepper)- not too bad
The Ceasar Salad actually grossed me out so badly it tasted like old fish 🤢
My boyfriend got the Lucy goose or something like that (cheese filled burger). SO gross was not seasoned it was very mushy meat- so so bad.
His drink also had a fly in it but that stuff happens
Our server Isabella was nice! I’m not much of a complainer because it’s not her fault the food is bad. But when you see plates that have one bite taken out of them- you think you’d ask if the food was good - she just took our plates and gave us our check.
This place is so new but I feel like it won’t last. It was so empty when we ate here. No one was at the reception area, it seemed like just the bar staff. Our waiter was slightly awkward but very friendly and accommodating. The food was great but it seemed like a disco that was a dinner. The concept seemed interesting but I would say it didn’t work. Like they were spreading themselves too thin. It was like it would have been either a cool diner or a cool night club but not both? Food was great, no complaints their and like I said the staff was friendly and accommodating. Just unfortunate for the business. When the people at the bar buy food from outside and bring it in that can’t be good for business.
