Revival Social Club
Fri 11:00 am–12:00 am
Sat 9:00 am–12:00 am
Sun 9:00 am–10:00 pm
They are closing on Saturday and it couldn’t be more obvious.
Interesting drinks, great food, good ambience, just okay service. Very loud.
A note: if you change your menu, make sure you change it everywhere. We came here because the menu on OpenTable was appealing. When we sat down, it was totally changed. The food was decent, but we felt that the value wasn't there
What an amazing dinner!!! I cannot believe how wonderful and eclectic the new menu is! Such unique flavor combinations to give Revival a lasting impression to stand out among all of the other typical Chicago menus.
When I asked if/when the cheese curds had been removed from the menu, my waiter scoffed at me and said they had not been on the menu in over a year. I expressed to him I had eaten here at least 3 times in the last year, having cheese curds each time. Again, with attitude, he immediately rebutted "well, I have worked here for 3 years.." After taking my order, he clearly told someone in the kitchen about our exchange , and then returned not with an apology, but to inform me that the curds actually HAD been on the menu, but were seasonal.
The food was fine, but that encounter was what left the proverbial bad-taste in my mouth.
Fun for a group of 12 at the high top!
It started badly when they said they didn’t have our reservation and went downhill from there. When I produced the email with the reservation, suddenly they had our reservation. Our server was super inexperienced and really didn’t know how to handle a table but less a party of 8. They didn’t have enough menus even though the restaurant was only 1/3 full. The first 3 drinks we tried to order they didn’t have. It started to become a joke but it was annoying as the server didn’t even have an explanation. Everything from that point was hard but for the most part everyone enjoyed their food. Running a restaurant is an art - this place hasn’t figured that out yet. I can’t imagine going back.
Revival is great! Food and drinks are delicious, service is great and everyone is friendly. We had a surprise birthday brunch that went so well thanks to the staff for helping us out!
Came here via bike with a bike group and they were super accommodating with the varying number in our group and request for separate checks. Plenty of bike parking across the street, food was tasty and expertly prepared.
This is my favorite brunch spot in the city. :)
Wonderful dining experience on Mother's Day.
Interesting range of drinks available. Good service, attentive. Pork chops too salty.
A nice restaurant with seasonal menus. The selections are unique.
Experience was great. The only complaint I could make is that I had requested patio seating in my reservation. When I arrived I was told the patio had no more seating available at that time - no big deal. But shortly after being sat (and I mean maybe two minutes), I hear a server tell another table, across the restaurant, that there is a 2 Top open. Could I have asked to been moved? Probably. Did I feel it was my responsibility to kindly apologize and recommend I move spots? No. Regardless, the food was great and the atmosphere was lovely.
One of my favorite neighborhood spots. We went on Wine Down Tuesday for half off bottles of wine. I had the salmon, which was delicious, perfectly cooked.
Nice place and good menu. Parking is challenging in the area. Paid street parking on Broadway.
My husband hates brunch, I mean it took a lot for me to drag him out on Sunday. What helped was that they take reservations, it was relatively easy to park around there, and is decently priced. The service was great! Great from our waiter and even others stopped in to check on us. Food was good and came out very fast. I had the Chicken sandwich which was good but not life changing. My husband had the chorizo skillet which was really very good. The monkey bread that came out to a table next to us looked so good but we were too full as the portions were big. We definitely want to go back to try more things on the menu for Brunch and give dinner a try. Nice neighborhood spot!
It was wonderful
Incredibly helpful service people. Drinks are great. Management is terrific!!!
This is one of my favorite places! Love coming here for brunch and they have so many good items on the menu. The place is trendy, cozy and perfect for anytime of day !
We celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday at Revival Social Club. It was myself, my 18 year old daughter, my husband and my 15 year old daughter. Everyone found a dish they liked and we all tried each other's food. We had the duck, flatbread, a chicken dish and the pork chop. It was all fresh, tasty, flavorful. The staff was attentive, friendly and fun. Nice ambiance. Had a really nice glass of Rose as well.
Great food and service. Would eat there again.
Small place so be ready to be in everyone's conversation and have them in yours. Plate size is moderate but right for the price.
Great menu and service. We ordered both specials and they were amazing!
We have been a number of times and always enjoy our experience. This time we met friends for brunch and everyone enjoyed the visit. We were there for brunch this time and the group had the breakfast sandwich, granola French toast, chorizo skillet and the breakfast platter. Service was friendly, atmosphere was bright and welcoming. We are sure that we will visit again and again!!
Was just okay, nothing great, except for the cocktails. Those were great! I felt the menu was limited and it took too long to come out to the table. The mushroom flat bread was good. As I'm writing this review I honestly cannot remember what entrees we ordered - one was with shrimp and tortillas - so they obviously weren't that memorable. Restaurant was very loud. Lastly, the women's bathroom had a horrendous smell of sulfur. Could hardly stand it. Not sure what the men's bathroom was like. Would not go back unless I was with a group and they all wanted to go.
Food somewhat above average. We went for dinner and I was expecting a more exciting menu. My husband ordered the salmon on a cauliflower and quinoa bed. He said the fish was wonderfully tasty and well cooked. My son snd I ordered burgers medium. They came out rare. Soggy fries. The lettuce in my side salad was warm and wilted. The monkey bread dessert was outstanding.
I went with a friend for brunch on Easter. The entree was delicious, and the service was great. I was surprised that the breakfast condiments were of the very cheapest variety (strawberry and grape jelly), not even real jam. Also, the bread was also of poor quality; reminded me of whole wheat wonder bread. I don't know if I would recommend Revival for brunch.
I was excited to try the restaurant. I ordered the steak and eggs. The waitress was very accommodating to the fact that I didn’t want the potatoes and substituted tomatoes, which I appreciated. The steak was advertised as 10 ounces however when it arrived, it was significantly less than 10 ounces, more like 4 ounces, and it was not a steak but chopped up steak with peppers and onions. This is not how it was advertised and if it was I would not have ordered it. I actually left the restaurant hungry, which I don’t believe I’ve ever done. I’m not sure I would go back for meal based on the deception of this menu item but perhaps light snacks because then I would know I was only receiving a small amount of food.
Great food and perfect service.
Nice place with good food. The only negative was that the menu is limited.
Excellent food and service but the noise level was over the top.
Really casual, upmarket eatery. A welcome addition to the Granville area. Excellent brunches and coffee. One suggestion: serve freshly squeezed juice. Outside of that, we loved it.
We went for brunch on a Sunday morning. The place is very loud because of the high ceilings. It is hard to have a conversation, especially with large groups throughout the restaurant. After we decided not to order any alcoholic drinks, our server became non-existent. Coffee was never refilled and didn't check to make sure the meal was okay. I ordered the steak and eggs. The eggs were rubbery and the steak was WAY undercooked. Given that the server did not come back after food was delivered until the check came, the steak could not be sent back. It was so raw that I believe I become sick from it. We definitely will not go back nor will we recommend it to anyone.
I found this place on Open Table and the menu looked good and the location was in an appropriate spot to meet the kids. We wanted Bloody Mary's and the waiter told it was spicy and offered a taste before we ordered. He was correct-very, very spicy so we chose to order a screwdriver and a honey badger, which was delicious. Unfortunately thats where it ended for me. The money bread was mediocre at best. I also ordered the eggs benedict, again mediocre (eggs undercooked). I was never asked if I cared for another beverage and it was difficult to get the waiter as it had become increasingly crowded since our arrival. I wouldn't recommend this establishment unless you want a tasty coffee and a super spicy Bloody Mary.
A laid back environment with a unique menu. Enjoyed ourselves and our service.
Revival Social Club is a restaurant that my two Dads had dined at several times before. It has been a year since their last visit, so they were looking forward to going again.
The reservation was made only 30 minutes notice. (The restaurant was not busy). Dads were seated immediately.Since it had been so long since Dads' last visit, the menus had changed as they do each season. The waiter took their order - a Cubano sandwich served with a side of fries, a seared salmon fillet with vegetable, a bowl of soup and cheese curds for after the meal to bring home to me. I am so lucky!
The food arrived in a timely manner but was not as warm/hot as expected nor desired. Still, the food was edible so they began their meal. The soup was a beef base with croutons and mushrooms. Interesting flavor and enjoyed by both. Right after the soup, the meal went downhill quickly.
After one bite of Dad's Cubano sandwich, he put it down only to realize what he ordered was not what was brought to the table. It was a strange Cubano sandwich that had very little meat on it and a non-appealing texture and consistency but yet, it was dripping grease. Needless to say, no more of the sandwich was eaten and it was left on the plate. The other meal - Dad's salmon - was cooked with the skin on which he would expect to maintain moisture. However, it created an odd flavor for the fish. As well, the couscous bad a strange mixture of diced vegetables in it and there were items on the plate that had no identifiable flavors and still remain a mystery. Much of this meal was also left on the plate and not consumed.
For dessert, they ordered a favorites - Monkey Bread. It had been a desert they enjoyed and had many times there. Unfortunately this item had also changed significantly since the last visit. It was dull in flavor and easily could be called cinnamon rolls.
Needless to say, they will not be going back and will not be recommending it to anyone again. Unfortunately, no paws up!
Tofu was bland and they were out of both desserts we tried to order but mushroom polenta and drinks were delicious, and our server was friendly and attentive!
Everything was great at Revival Social Club from the food to the service to the ambiance. This was a first for all of us, and we will definitely be back. Thanks!
