Revival on Lincoln
Wonderful!!!! Delicious food, great cocktails, great service!
The food was fantastic. Service is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant is beautiful.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review your dining experience at Revival on Lincoln. We are thrilled you enjoyed both your meal and the ambiance. We look forward to serving you again.
A great discovery close to home! The atmosphere was warm and cozy and the service was prompt and efficient. The food was terrific - I had a shrimp and pasta special. The drinks were good too. I will definitely return for another dinner.
Thank you, Michelle, for taking the time to write. We appreciate your kind remarks and are so glad you enjoyed your experience. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
We like Revival and are repeat customers- the food and service are consistently excellent
Thank you for the kind review, Stuart. And thank you for being repeat customers! Excellence is our goal, and we are so happy to have delivered on that.
Good food. Nice ambiance in an old mansion. Good wine list. Easy access to street parking. Seated exactly at reservation time. They do not try to rush you out the door and allow enough time between courses. I will go back.
So glad you had a great experience, Bob! Thank you for taking the time to share that with us. Please join us again soon.
Interesting menu and excellent food. Only downside was that it was noisy at times during dinner.
Hello Mary! Thank you for taking the time to write. We are so happy you enjoyed your meal. I see that you visited on the weekend--usually our busiest time, and you are right--some of the conversations can become quite spirited. We are happy you joined us and we hope to serve you again soon!
Food was luke warm and drinks never made it to the table. For the prices, service standards need to increase
Service got worst as the night went on. Ended up with 2 complimentary cups of coffee that were ice cold. Would not recommend this place. Certainly not worth the money you need to spend to eat. Might want to offer a sweet wine by the glass. Lost 2 liquor sales
I don't know if there is a better retaurant in all of Pittsburgh than Revival on Lincoln. Food and service is wonderful.
The dining room noise was horrible. It was difficult to have a conversation in a normal voice. The food was good but there were long waits between courses. It was a little out of our way and I doubt if we would go back. Oh, they do not have a parking lot. So you must hope to find something along the street and they caution you not to park on North Fremont.
We were there on a cold night and sat upstairs. The heat wasn't turned on upstairs until after we sat down, and it took a long time for the room to warm up - it never did get comfortably warm, and we just wore our coats while eating. Possibly because we were upstairs, the service was very slow - we were there for over two hours and 15minutes, although I must say that the servers were very pleasant and engaging. the one plus for being upstairs is that the first floor was incredibly l,oud.
What a wonderful meal. We were in a bit of a hurry and they served us beautifully!!! I will drive the 35 minutes to go again!!!!
One year anniversary dinner plates were to die for!!!! I dined with two friends and am logging back in to make another reservation to take another friend tonight as he will love the food on this special menu. The whisky apple cobbler with ice cream and caramel...... wow!
Great meal! Only problem was the table of 6 drunk women next to us were extremely loud.
The food and service was outstanding. The only complaint would be that the dining area is very noisy. It was hard to have a conversation. Something is needed to absorb the sound. If noise doesn’t bother you I would’ve highly recommend.
Friendly but slow service. Drinks food and check took long time to come out. Food was just OK. Good beer and wine selection and good craft cocktails. Average prices. Great ambiance
I enjoyed my meal of yellowfin tuna which was one of the many specials offered that night. The grilled Caesar salad was very nice. I find that fewer and fewer restaurants are offering bread with meals any more and appreciated the bread with humus that was brought to our table without us needing to ask. Service was prompt but we were not rushed. The room where we were seated was very noisy and every table was filled while an adjacent room was near empty. Perhaps spreading the customers out throughout the several rooms would reduce the noise level. We didn't spend any time in the cozy bar this visit but I loved the ambiance there on a previous visit.
Revival is a neighborhood gem in Bellevue. Great ambiance in a beautifully restored historic home. Our table of six ordered a variety of salads, soup & entrees. Everyone enjoyed the food, but special mentions go out for caramelized onion gratine soup, grilled Caesar salad, shrimp & grits, and pork chop. Service was great. (Hostess even offered to store my wet umbrella!) We will be back.
We went to Revival for our 40th wedding anniversary on a Saturday evening. We found the noise level to be exceptionally high, the food choices limited and the pricing higher than was warranted given the location. Parking was an issue as well. Our waiter (Fred) was outstanding. The venue was crowded (our reservation was for 6 PM) even at the early hour and several people were turned away throughout the course of the evening.
I had the grilled Caesar and yellow fin tuna special; my husband had the seasonal cheese platter (pricey for just 2 cheeses) and the pork chop. We enjoyed the food but until I was offered the tuna special, I was struggling to find something I wanted to eat from the regular menu.
We might give it another try.
It was a busy Friday night and it took 90 minutes to get our entrees. For the price they were okay but mine was actually not very hot. It was loud and it appeared that they might have been understaffed in the kitchen. The service was good overall, but since they were busy and maybe shorthanded it was slow.
Our first experience here. Had dinner here prior to heading into the city for a show. Everything about this restaurant is amazing. From the warm welcome, to the great service, to the great ambiance, to the fantastic food, this place gets all stars! This place is a little out the way for us but definitely worth it. I think will be regulars here I am sure.
Excellent food and service.
This is and continues to be a favorite dining experience. I don’t know where they find such amazing, friendly staff, but it really make the dinner an occasion. The food is stellar. We love watching for the unique price fix menus that are offered for the occasional season or holiday. Kudos to the staff and owner of this gem. Love it every time we go!
Second time at Revival. Was very impressed the first time, especially with the ambiance -- this time, less so. In particular, I thought the service was poor -- typical under-trained "old" Pittsburgh style service-- trying to be friendly but just not very competent or knowledgeable. The menu seemed not to have changed much from several months ago, and my meal (shrimp and grits) was fairly ordinary-- certainly nothing special. I think this place has a lot of potential, but they need to up their game if they really want to be a top tier restaurant. In summary, other than the ambiance (which is quite nice), the food is very expensive "ordinary" and the service is reminiscent of "fancy" Pittsburgh restaurants a decade ago or so (ie, not great...).
We went there for my friend's birthday. I intend to return with my husband. It is such a lovely romantic restaurant.
Meeting with old friends
Food was good. It was very busy by the end of our meal but our waiter just disappeared. I’m assuming he was waiting on other tables but he completely ditched us. Food was overall pretty good. I didn’t care for the hummus with the bread..tasted store bought instead of fresh. Short ribs were very tender. Would definitely return.
A little pricey. Especially drinks. Food good. Waiter kept coming over felt like he was rushing us.
The food and service was very good my second time at the Revival.
The only thing was seated in the dark green room (dinner in the evening) I feel the room is
a little too dark it was hard to see your food and the person I was with. Just light the room a little bit more. With that being said I will come back even if the lighting doesn't change. I enjoy the Revival very much.
EXCELLENT and interesting menu/food! NOISY NOISY - Can you do something about this?
Overall, we enjoyed our two dinners, salads, soup and beverage. The service provided by Fred was excellent. We were originally drawn to Revival on Lincoln by the menu. We enjoy well-prepared vegetables and your menu offered many excellent options. The sauvignon blanc wine from New Zealand was also excellent. Even the complementary bread and hummus were outstanding.
The only negatives. It was very loud, seemingly too loud as it actually impeded conversation. The atmosphere, in terms of wall decorations, was very bland (minimalistic in a way) and did NOT add to our experience. The items were slightly too expensive, given the location and setting. We may still come back, however, because of the food, menu, and service!
The staff made the experience. Everyone was friendly, courteous, observant. Never hovering, ready when you were. The food was delicious.
The outside is imposing and welcoming at the same time. We were eager to go in and have a look around. Unfortunately, though, the interior we saw was institutional, not unlike a corporate lunchroom. What a terrific opportunity the owner had to create something memorable, but it was sadly squandered. The food was fine -- maybe not what you'd call innovative, but that's fine with me; it's tasty enough (the chicken I had was perfectly seasoned) -- and the service was excellent. If only they had devoted as much time and thought to restoring the inside as they did the outside, they would have a popular "destination" restaurant.
Beautiful venue! Food was delicious!
Way too noisy. Waiter was too busy to bother with a table of just two people. We had to keep flagging done the hostess for drink refills. Dessert took 25minutes come
The Revival was a great eating out experience. We went with friends, 3 couples title. The girls liked the cosmopolitans and the wine selections, the cocktails and beer selections were great.
The menu selections were original and outstanding, the serving sizes were perfect. Al in all a great evening out we were there for three hours and shared two great deserts.
A night out to be remembered.
First time here, and it wasn't great. The house was nice, good location but the food just wasn't great. Dry chicken, overcooked vegetables, overly sweet sauce. It just wasn't great, tons of great restaurants in Pittsburgh and nearby, this just didn't cut it.
Wow..this place was fantastic. I had the beets and greens salad and the bucatini. My husband had the soup and short ribs. Both were so tasty and perfectly prepared. We will be back soon!
Food was quite good, nice menu, attentive staff, and an overall quality experience. I will return.
The kitchen was backed up due to a private party but the service and food made up for the wait.
