Revel is a casual American restaurant and Gastro Bar located in Downtown Pittsburgh, steps from Market Square. Revel has a classic breakfast offering as well as a unique lunch and dinner menu. Our diverse hand-crafted cocktail options, including our famous 'Fire of 1845', along with our ample beer and wine selections offer something for everybody. Our experience at Revel was wonderful from beginning to end! The host clearly read my notes (my husband and I are a little on the larger side and prefer chairs without arms or tables that are slightly larger to accomodate), and while we weren't aware that all of their chairs were armless, they were happy to sit us at a four person table due to it being mid day on a Sunday. I was quite surprised to find a mid day happy hour (on a weekend no less), and enjoyed two glasses of wine because of it, so thank you for having a mid day happy hour on a weekend! Our server was a pleasure to interact with, though her name escapes me at the moment. She was quick to take our order, and just as quick to bring the food as it came out of the kitchen. Our very small one tiny bit of feedback is in regards to the food itself- the scallops were a tiny bit overcooked, and the brussel sprouts were a little too heavily dressed in balsamic for my husband's tastes AND mine (which is a wonder, as I am usually fine with a heavy balsamic dressing). Other than that, the lobster mac and cheese was divine.

Food was delicious when it arrived. The kitchen was not busy, but others at our table mentioned what I was thinking--namely that it took too long to prepare the entrees. We loved the various offerings on the menu and appreciated the quiet dining space that was well-appointed.

Booked this day of the weekend of the US Open. Two people at the table ordered steak and it was under-done and the waitress took it back and it was brought back still under-done with cold mashed potatoes. Staff was just hanging out by the bar and kitchen area, service was subpar. Waitress told us they are revamping their menu, hoping this fixes some issues. Would recommend trying some place else!

As tourists to Pittsburgh, Revel was highly recommended for a nice dinner in the downtown area. It was very quiet for a Thursday evening at 7 pm, prime dining time, which seemed surprising with the nice decor and beautiful bar area. Perhaps the rain deterred what would be the usual crowd. Anyway, we found the wine menu to be a very good value -- they even point out the $30 bottles! The vegetarian flatbread was quite literally the best flatbread we've had anywhere! I had the spinach strawberry salad with a crab cake on top for my main dish, and my husband had the steak au poivre. They weren't as top notch as the flat bread, but good, and both were a very good value. And the service was great!

I was extremely impressed with the service. The food was very good. I ordered a filet and it came out in a 4 ounce piece instead of an 8 ounce piece and before I could even pick up my fork, they brought me another full 8 ounce steak and apologized for the size of the first one. Great spot all around.

Excellent experience for a business lunch. Great wait staff and food was perfectly prepared, including for a person in our party with some special dietary needs.

Food and service were fantastic. Everything was fabulous and all the food was cooked to perfection. I mean filet, prime rib, omelette station, waffle station, plus all the normal breakfast and lunch items, salad bar, dessert table, and full bar. Variety of selections was top notch. One of the best brunches I’ve been to in a long time.

My pork chop was cooked perfectly and delicious. My husband’s steak was not cooked evenly and only half of it was medium rare. The other half was cooked well done.

The Brussels sprouts starter was delicious and a large amount of food. Highly recommend if you like sprouts! Wine selection was good and fair pricing. Service was speedy and attentive without being overwhelming. Only slight issue I had was the steak. It was cooked to the right temp, but it was tough and the toppings were a bit bland, so not what I was expecting for the price. Again, overall pleased with Revel and would certainly go back when I’m in town again.
