Revel - Lake Union
Love the food and ambiance! The service could use some help...
Food was very salty and portion sizes on the smaller size, especially given the price. There is an automatic 20% service charge and if you bring in a birthday cake, $2 per person cutting fee. In the afternoon/evening the sunlight reflects off of the building windows across the street and shines in your eyes if you’re sitting towards the front. Servers were polite and accommodating but not particularly warm.
They were great! Food was amazing, wine was perfect. They openly accepted our last minute reservation change. The server was very personable and attentive.
The food was delicious, as always, but the atmosphere was soul-less. Far prefer the old Fremont spot which felt energetic, alive and authentic. Also, the first thing the hostess said to us when we checked in four our reservation is that we had to be out of our table by 8:45 (for our 6:30 reservation) . Of course the time was not an issue --we were easily done by 8:15 but do you really have to say that?
Wonderful new space, and same great quality of food.
My friends and I had a great time at Revel. The food & service were great! We enjoyed our time and left in laughter.
I liked my food and our server was great. Ambience was fine but noisy. Turn the music down a little! Overall, very good, just not outstanding.
The new location is lovely! We had a great evening- the food is as good as expected and everyone LOVED their meals! Revel will continue to be a favorite!
We love Revel. It's our favorite restaurant/food in Seattle. But the new location just isn't the same experience. Eight of us came to celebrate a graduation. We made a reservation for 8:30. And we were literally rushed out the door. Like they all wanted to go home instead of serve us. They even turned up the lights to send a message - Yikes! It wasn't even 10pm yet. The old location had a hip late nighty vibe. The new one must make so much money at lunch (it's smack dab in the middle of the Amazon-ville) that they don't care about a city crowd that enjoys later dinners and not being rushed out the door. I brought another family as our guest, spent a lot of money and I was embarrassed by how they treated us. I still recommend the food. The chefs are the best. But if you don't want to serve past 9pm, at least tell me that when I make a reservation for 8:30pm. I hope when it comes back to Fremont that it returns to its hip, cool, city vibe.
Great happy hour with yummy food and summery drinks. Truly one of my favorites in the city.
Creative, good tasting happy hour food and cocktails. We ate outside, service was more robotic than friendly. Though overall was ok, I did NOT like the fact that gratuity was added on for me (we were also only a party of 4). I will not be going back again.
We had the opportunity to visit Revel on the evening prior to boarding a ship for an Alaskan cruise and the experience was excellent! Hannah's service and guidance with the menu was perfect and the food was an exciting blend of the known and the less-known! We would recommend a visit to Revel for anyone who lives in the Seattle area as well as for visitors, such as we were, who are looking for something a bit out of the ordinary and highly exceptional.
The staff and the cook seemed tired. The food uninspired and lukewarm by the time it arrived at the table and they seem like they can’t wait to see us leavee and the place is expensive
Everything was exceptional. The service was great and their recommendation of the fish was appreciated. Everything we had was excellent, including some great drinks.
Food was very salty and staff weren’t very pleasant. One in particular would bring food or water and wouldn’t acknowledge anyone even when you thanked her for what she did. Kinda odd.
Food was as delicious as the Revel in Fremont. The atmosphere was a bit more corporate in South Lake Union. The light shade above our table was busted out and so we had a harsh LED on our table. Small plates were a bit dirty, spotty as well.
Five of us went to Revel to celebrate a friend's birthday. The service was very disappointing. The restaurant was not very crowded while we were there, but we were treated with impatience and were neglected when we asked for a knife to cut the pancake we ordered as an appetizer. Since there are no utensils other than chopsticks at the table, we could not cut the pancake which came in 4 sections while there were 5 of us ( we could easily have been served a pancake cut into 5 pieces, had that been an option offered to us ). We finally had to get up and find a knife to cut the now cold pancake. We were treated with condescension when we were trying to figure out the very odd way the bill was divided up among all of us. Despite my having mentioned it was a dinner to celebrate our friend's birthday when I made the reservation, no staff acknowledged this until we were leaving and they wished her a happy birthday. Very disappointing.
Excellent food. Sliders are super tasty
Food was not as good as usual. Temporary location is nice but service was weirdly unsatisfying and people at adjacent tables were complaining.
Wonderful NYE meal. Will be back for more soon!
Revel was better than I remembered it and I liked it back when it was in Fremont. The area around the location is a little dead, but that’s SLU after 6. The cocktails were outstanding. The service was spot on and the food was delicious. It exceeded our expectations.
I love Revel. I can't wait for them to move back to Fremont so I can starting going more often again. I live for the seared tuna bowl!
Strange spot thankfully temp.
Chef Toyofuku is incredible! We love the crab noodle, the salads, and the dumplings. Try the motherload for dessert!
I went with my 2 teenagers and my 11 year old. They loved it. I wouldn’t bring small children there or picky eaters. It’s more for the sophisticated palate. We had Ethiopian Duck that was the best duck I ever tasted. It was a bit dry tho. Lemongrass noodles was to die for. And I wasn’t crazy about the dumplings but my kids loved them. Great beer available. Overall I would defiantly recommend.
Very unique presentation of Korean classics. Enjoyed by the whole party.
Birthday dinner for my spouse, hosting two other couples. Each one of us loved it. Well executed and presented.
I have loved Reval for years, mostly visiting their old Fremont location. The food was just as good at the SLU pop up. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys Asian Fusion type food.
Revel is one of my favorite restaurants. Always consistent and never disappoints. I am anxiously waiting for them to move back to Fremont so I can go more often again!
We tried Revel with another couple and were delighted! Excellent food, with wonderful flavors. We ordered a bottle of wine- solid wine list that is reasonably priced. We will return and I plan to take- out food as well.
Food was mediocre. Waiter explained this is ‘just a pop up’. Disappointed.
Service charge of 20% is included in billing, leading to a lack of service efforts. Food is very mediocre, missing flavours. The Kimchi quality is bad. Everything quite pricey for what they offer.
Joe was a fantastic server!
Appetizers are the way to go. Entrees were disappointing. Service was terrible. At one point I got up to service my own water and water for my table. We waited a long time for two glasses of champagne. Our party of 4, which included two young teenagers received an auto 20% gratuity on our bill....what is up with that? Not worth the hype.
This was our first visit to Revel after they moved from Fremont. It was a fantastic dinner. We ordered several small plates from the Happy Hour menu -- delicious, and a great bargain. My son said the mandu dumplings were "the best ones i've ever had".
The salads were inventive and very good.
I think my favorite of the night was the Dungeness crab noodle dish -- seaweed noodles and red curry -- it was a hit!
Service fee included and you can tell. Very inattentive service and, hard to think of another word, but just straight apathy by our main servers. Others were nice, but primary server was terrible. Great food. Maybe just an off night or bad server in general.
Amazing food and service!
Not too special. Quality seems to have degraded from the Fremont days. Got massive itis after eating so there's something heavy in the food.
The food was amazing. That is what would bring us back. Our original waiter was great. Very accommodating to dietary restrictions with our group. He was going off shift in the middle of our meal. Passed us off to a waitress that pretty much avoided us, which couldn't be easy as we sat right next to the order station. When 20% tip is built in, it's hit or miss with the service levels in Seattle. Thanks for the reminder.
Love the food here. Very filling.
