The cocktails and peanut butter burger were amazing
Food was outstanding. Bar service was very slow.
Chris and Laura McMillian are the best. The gazpacho soup I eat tonight was the best dish that I have eaten all year.
First of all I have one of the best cocktail bartenders in the history of New Orleans. So I went there and food wise and expect much but I was pleasantly surprised. The service is great and a crab pasta which my wife had and a black and drum fishWhere I had was superb
The pasta was overcooked, the drinks took a long time to come, and the service seemed a little off. The restaurant has a ton of potential, but they need to do better.
This family business offers delicious and unique dishes. The owners are extremely friendly. Lunches are priced very reasonably.
Their superb 4-course August “Coolinary” menu starts with a classic cocktail as the first course - very ingenious; we had the Old Fashioned and French 75. Proprietors Chris and Laura are cocktail aficionados, New Orleans historians, and they run a friendly bistro with excellent food and service. Highly recommended.
Food was not really good just OK.
We had a party of 7 - made reservations well in advance. restaurant was not busy when we arrived or left drinks too extremely long to come out. food was lackluster, over spiced or the pairing of flavors (ex: peanut butter burger) not as interesting as it sounded. One of our party's order was completely wrong and she didn't get the remade order UNTIL AFTER DESSERT WAS SERVED.
Server was very unfriendly.
We went for a friend’s birthday. Birthday girl was running late and I love that I was able to change the reservation time 30 minutes before!
I had put in a request in the “special request” box to have shots waiting for us, including a non-alcoholic version and thought “eh I’ll see if they do it, not a big deal if they don’t”. They totally did and the service was beyond phenomenal!!! The food was great, but truly the service itself made the whole night. Our server genuinely cared to make my friend feel special. Thank you!!!
A great visit with one of the best bartenders/mixologist you will ever meet - Chris McMillian! Thoroughly enjoyed the visit and hearing stories about NOLA and Louisiana from Chris.
In a city full of neighborhood gems, this place will not disappoint.
Delicious food & phenomenal drinks! One of my favorite places.
Great food and service. Too many small plates to decide, never had a chance to get to entrees!
The food was very good and helpings were just the right size-so that we felt comfortable but not stuffed. The service was excellent and enjoyed the owners!
The ambiance was perfect, comfortable and not pretentious. We will definitely go back often .
Our dinner at Revel had the welcoming feel of a meal at home, assuming you are lucky enough to have a great chef and great bartender in your family. The food was great, the drink menu was spectacular, the desserts were to die for, and the MacMillian family and staff couldn't have treated us with more warmth. Revel represents everything that is great about New Orleans, and Chris MacMillian's efforts to keep the mixed drinks of Prohibition era in New Orleans alive alone are worth the trip.
I very much enjoyed my drinks and my dinner. The restaurant is on the loud side, however. It was difficult to have a conversation. As with all restaurants where I make reservations, it would be nice to request seats at the bar!! Our waitress, Bree, was excellent and made our meal exponentially more enjoyable.
Excellent. Enjoyed very much. Eclectic menu. Great drinks and excellent service. Will be back
Sat the bar and though they were a little busy, I wasn’t even greeted for over 5-10 min. Oyster chowder was good but only 1 small oyster in it. The fish looked wonderful but was undercooked in the thickest part of it. Wasn’t in the mood to send it back, so just ate the cooked part. The risotto and asparagus were good.
This place is great! A great neighborhood find, with a really cool menu, and a outstanding cocktail list. It’s really laid back, and it’s a great date spot.
The food at Revel is outstanding, and the service is as well.
It’s a cute, cozy little place with very good and creative small plate offerings as well as a few entree. The brussel sprout special was delicious as was the unusual “corn dog” appetizer and boudin balls. I also enjoyed the cheese plate. Happy hour is every day until 7 with great wine and cocktails. The service is friendly and efficient. I really enjoy going to Revel. (The Bar is fun too! It has that neighborhood feel to it)
Fantastic! I had to come back after less than two weeks, and it won’t be the last time. Chris and Laura are wonderful, their cocktails to die for and the food is amazing.
Fish tasted like liquid smoke. Mint julip had a sprig of mint, but did not appear muddled. Waitress kept squeezing between our tables to serve patrons on upper tier...having her rear end in my face got old.
Good local place, small and better suited to small tables. We were seated next to an extremely loud table but think it is atypical. Lots of cool cocktails and they know all the history behind them.
Culinary and drink menus are creative and delicious. Server was on the spot and helpful. Bar service is slow but it’s likely because they nurture each and every cocktail to perfection.
Thank you so much for a lovely New Year's dinner! From start to finish the attention to customer satisfaction was out of this world! The cocktails, food menu, and service were spectacular! If you're in New Orleans and looking for fabulous cuisine then head to Revel!
Food was excellent. Prices were reasonable and portions appropriate. Cocktail list was expansive with plenty to choose from and were great drinks. Will definitely stop in again soon.
Revel was our last stop on a trip to NO that featured a little too much indulging in food. But this was by far the best place we checked out, hands down the best cocktails we’ve ever had a very fun dinner menu to boot. Must order the crawfish grilled cheese.
Absolutely love this place. The owners are masters of the cocktail that are welcoming and can hold a conversation on a wide variety of topics. Food is inventive and delicious. A neighborhood gem.
Excellent meal & the cocktail list is the kicker. Chris is the tops.
I came for the craft cocktails, stayed for more as well as delicious small plates and wonderful conversation with husband and wife team knowledgeable fun bartenders! Don’t miss this place while in NOLA!
Excellent ,cocktails, food,cleanliness,
Great Place we will return.
Wanted to celebrate birthday in a restaurant with vegetarian options for friend. Menu was great with good options Food was fabulous and service was superb like a 5 star restaurant. Happy to have turned my friend who has lived here for 15 years to a new option. She will be back as will I
This is a small restaurant and bar with great old fashions and great food. Featured cocktail is half price. Food is original, delicious, and beautifully plated. Food selection is somewhat limited but there is enough diversity to find something appealing, and we liked everything we tried. Drink menu is much larger with many original cocktails.
Noise level is high but we could still hear each other across the table.
Great specialty cocktails. Great personal service.
When ever I an in New Orleans U try to get to Revel I am a fan of Chris's and love his storytelling about cocktails. The staff is always friendly and fantastic. it's the perfect place to catch up with friends. It's a great little mid-city spot if you haven't made it here yet...Go!
The best cocktails in New Orleans, period. Very reasonable price on both drinks and food. And they just took on a chef who is putting out some excellent fare. Everything from Bar Bites to entrees. Been coming here for 2 years and it never fails to impress
Dined at Revel for the first time to celebrate my wife's birthday. Revel is not very large and as such, you are seated near the bar in an small open room. Needless to say, the noise level was extremely loud. We were forced to shout to each other the entire meal. Our server had to describe the specials twice on each side of our table in order to be heard by the entire party. Service was somewhat slow and uneven. It took about 20 minutes for our cocktails to be served. We ordered four appetizers for our group of five. Three of the four came out together, but the fourth wasn't delivered until after the others had been consumed. Subsequently, three of the entrees came out together and were served. The last two entrees weren't served for another 15 minutes. Fortunately, we're into sharing so no one had to wait without eating. They were out of two of the items on their menu. The food was good (Peanut Butter Burger, Steak Frites) to outstanding (Shrimp Crackers, Smoked Pork Nachos, Garlic Wings, Drum Tacos). The steak was flavorful but cooked medium instead of medium-rare. The burger was cooked medium-well instead of medium. Prices are reasonable. We spoke with the owner about the uneven service and she was very attentive and took our concerns seriously. We will probably go back at some point and attribute the visit to an off night.
The pungent, stale smell of cleaning supplies and being seated next to a wait station lined with brooms and dustpans was repulsive. We barely sat for 2 minutes before leaving.
