Perhaps one of the worst experiences dining out in Edmonton. First, in the dining room, there were only three tables. The others were stacked up against the inner wall alongside the chairs leaving a large empty space. Even with only three tables, the server rushed us through our order stating she had other tables she needed to take care of. The food was sub par. Tuna had gone bad, the braised short rib was dry and tough, potatoes were overly oily, the pate seemed to have been bad as well. The bread was delicious. This is a restaurant you are better off filling up on bread. Next, a member of our group asked if they had a specific type of alcohol, which they replied they did not. 30 minutes later, the server had brought the table a round of a similar drink that the bartender created. We thought maybe it was a drink on the house for our clear dissatisfaction. Nope. It was on the bill. We did not ask for it, but it was there. I generally give each restaurant I try three chances to impress, but I will not be going back to this one.
Great food. Great service. Great old fashioned!
Great Service, food was great, Tapas type menu.. portions were smaller but thought was very good. Would go back...
Ordered the wings to start - pretty good. As our mains we ordered the ravioli and steak. The ravioli must have had a charred aspect to it, but it unfortunately leaned to burnt.
The biggest disappointment was the steak. When dropping $42+ you expect a good steak - it was pale and had a not-so-enjoyable flavour . The potatoes were cold. The best part was the mushrooms. Service was friendly but seemed very understaffed for a weekend. Food was disappointing. Overall a disappointing experience at a historically well rated restaurant. Drinks were good though!
The room is beautiful. Service was very friendly and attentive despite only having one server for the entire place. The food was adventurous which we liked. The marrow was a bit lacking as it had run out of the bone but the mushrooms were good.
My only real issue was the washroom smelled awful. It was clean and modern so I assume there is some stagnant water in the drain. It was bad enough that it made a lasting impression.
Food was excellent. Gnocchi were fantastic.
No issue with the restaurant at all, the only issue was with customers couple of tables over who thought it was a good idea to FaceTime during supper.
Great service great food
Outstanding! Loved everything about it... will definitely be back, several times!:)
The food was good and well portioned. I’d recommend sharing several of the small plate. The larger plates were tasty but seemed to be not much bigger than the small.
Fantastic service. Food is top shelf and very well presented. Lots of gluten free options! Love this place.
Food was great. Ambience was poor. It seems like little thought or money was put into how the space works and looks. The main dining area seems like you’re eating in board room. They should have added some fixed seating like booths to warm the space up. Having said that, the food was fantastic
And the service was great.
Food was OK, service very good. Striploin steak was not a strip, round like a tenderloin. Very small meal for $34, not much potato or veg with a small steak. A small plate of carrots for $15. Trout and chicken wings were good. Wine reasonably priced.
First time at this restaurant. We were very impressed. I excellent food, wine and service. We will definitely go back.
I have been here five times now and have never had a bad experience. Truly creative food that is both delicious and pretty.
this was disapointing the last tine i had chicken and it was outstanding this time there was a new chef just barely better than Kfc the reavoli was not much better it was underdone and tough what a pity from the time before ja
Not much on plates drinks were expensive
Not a great first visit or impression. Trying too hard. Relax. Offer basic food done well and keep it clean. Bugs on the window sill are a turn off.
It is a fantastic location with great cocktails. Our waitress was amazing. We shared several small plates, but were disappointed. They hired a new chef, so hopefully they right the ship.
As always Revel was fantastic. Food was great . We were 4 people and we shared many of the dishes. I love the double baked potatoes 😁
Deep-fried chicken, with overly-saucy multi-coloured coleslaw served on a white bun on a large beige plate with brown rim. No garnish, no extras, not even deconstructed so that it filled the space on the plate. I have had better in small town Canada where competition is nearly non-existent. Didn't even take a picture - although if I had I probably wouldn't need to write anything.
The food and service were outstanding. The best meal we have had for a long time! Highly recommend!!
This was a wonderful surprisewhen the former owners closed one wonders what would come next It was supurb best chicken I have ever eaten Put it on top of my list
I ordered two small plates as my meal and one didn't come out until very late so they took it off the bill, so that was nice. The wings were very tasty. My friend had the fish tacos and didn't think they were that great, but did love the scallops. She had the cheesecake desert which was delicious. My pot de creme was ok, a bit too much salt in clumps.
Revel is fairly new. The service was great and it is conviently located near the Shaw Confernce Centre. Their patio will be great.
It is an eclectic menu to say the least! Service was stellar and a great wine menu as well.
Everything we ordered was so unique and full of flavour. From the house made sourdough bread with browned butter to the egg yolk decor (compared to a softened stain glass loaded with flavour) to the dessert, everything was delicious. And we couldn’t ask for a better waitress. Friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Definitely will come again.
Our only problem was the amount of time it took to get our meals as we were in a hurry between shows so that did not leave us much time to enjoy our Dinner.
Wonderful night out with friends
Share plates were fantastic & Pam (server) was exceptional in her attention to serving us.
The only suggestions would be the music selection did not fit with the ambience of the evening - a few tables so soft music vs energetic.
Two beautiful rooms in one great restaurant. The food and service were amazing. I'd highly recommend trying the octopus if it's available. The menu is elegant and taste expanding. Chef Tony never disappoints with his culinary talents.
We shared a number of small plates and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Revel.
Good food, got every entree so my family and I were able to share. Noticed that there wasn’t a seafood option as an entree though, which isn’t a big deal, but would’ve appreciated a seafood option. Everything else was very good. Our server Corey was really nice and informative. Took care of our table, and knew interesting info about the history of the location which was a bonus. Would come back with friends next time and sit in the lounge as we sat in the dining room during this visit.
Very good services and super yummy food! If you are in Edmonton, you gotta eat here! 😋
overall an extremely enjoyable evening with excellent food and very personable service.
Inventive, delicious and unique dishes, easy to create tapas-style sharing for 2 from the myriad of starter options. Duck liver funnel cake, pillowy gougeres, smoky shishito peppers, charred brussel sprouts and crab legs were all inspired and superb. Braised short rib & double-baked potatoes finished off the mains before a creamy, airy cheesecake completed the meal. Service attentive, knowledgeable, personable, and the dining room formal enough to feel special but not stuffy, while the lounge modern, trendy and chic. Def be back!
Great lounge with some real history. Staff are very genuine about service.
Although the food was very nicely done, the presented terribly small portions for the price. Wonder waiter.
Tried out Revel for lunch last week and it was very good. I'm looking forward to going back for afterwork drinks and snack and/or theatre preview or after show drinks and snacks.
My husband and I came for dinner and I have to say, we were underwhelmed by the food. Our small plates were bland and the main course (chicken) came with ricotta cheese and this awful mushroom that smelled and tasted terrible. I think the location and concept is great but the food we had was not good. We wouldn’t be enticed to come back and try another dish.
Cory was our server very energetic and knowledgeable. We're there on a Saturday 6 ish. Crashed Ice night. We only had 3 different appetizers which were enough. Will go back for full dinner some time. Plus will need to check out the great bar.
