Dining together allows us to better understand who we are, regardless of our social status. The food does not have to be elegant, complicated, or fancy. We find that busy people like simple food—the busier they are, the simpler the food. Our menu is straightforward, down-home Southern food with a few more contemporary dishes.

Getting back to the table allows us to love and nurture each other and renew connections to our families—however they may be configured—in this diverse and ever-changing society. Such connections are crucial in a fast-paced world where we feel more disconnected every day. One of the best ways we know how to restore that daily balance is to sit down at our table.

We should all think about returning to the sanctity of the table, where we can rebuild our families whether they be given or chosen, and reconnect with those we love and choose to love. Our table is a familiar, uncomplicated, friendly place where we can celebrate.

Wife and I lunch date. We came here after visiting the Art Smith restaurant in Disney Springs. It didn’t let us down. Great food and overall excellent service. My only complaint was that we ordered the sampler and it is amazingly awesome and a good amount of food. The main courses came out 5-6 minutes after the appetizer. It was just a small thing but everything else was awesome.

My chicken was raw on the inside. The mashed potatoes were too salty and the fried green tomatoes were mushy. Not the same experience as I had last time. Will never visit again.

We went for Happy Hour before the play at Shakespeare Theater and enjoyed the special chicken sliders and hushpuppies. Good wines and beer and very nice service from the bartender.

We were blown away by Reunion. The food was excellent and the service was amazing. We had limited time because we had booked a boat tour that assembled very close to the restaurant. We only wanted to make it easy, but found a new go-to place in the city. We had a group of 7, and they got us happily fed and on our way with plenty of time to spare. All entrees and appetizers were loved by all of us. That is very rare, as we have very diverse tastes. It is highly recommended and not just for the Navy Pier visitors. We will be back there soon.

This is our second time dining at Art Smith's Reunion, and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious! The fried chicken is outrageous! The fried chicken sandwich was also fantastic. We also had the mac n cheese and mashed potatoes and shared a slice of Hummingbird cake. Everything tasted wonderful. Service was great, the atmosphere and decor of the restaurant is very charming and laid back. A great place to relax in between the activities on Navy Pier!

We sat for almost 20 minutes without a waiter coming to the table. I had to ask someone if they knew who our waiter was. A waiter stopped by our table but seemed confused that he was our waiter. He took our order and never returned to our table unless I asked someone else to have him come over. The food was wonderful! I highly recommend the fried chicken. The manager did take care of the bill which was very generous of her.

Our food was almost warm. It could have been hotter, but it still had a nice flavor. The service was really bad. We sat for almost 10 minutes with no one coming over to even fill our water glasses. When I got up to ask about it, a different server was very nice. She filled our glasses, took our drink and appetizer order. During our meal, our server never came around to ask if we needed anything or how the food was. He did not check in at all.

The food is very good to excellent. But it was a cold day and we were seated next to a door that was open much of the time so ate with our coats on. And I wish I had known the bill contained the gratuity. I left a little bit extra for a server who was so-so that I would not have left otherwise.
