This is a gourmet treasure in the heart of Tecate. I think it's well worth a trip south.

Awesome menu, it is always a delicious surprise. The reservations system is great. Cook, waiters and waitresses are very kind.

Excellent food, just dont expect to make your own decisions regarding your highly variable 4, 5, or 8 course meal (as it should be, just might not be for everyone).

Our only complaint - It was very very cold. They did a very nice wine pairing. It's a set 4, 5 or 8 course menu.

Amores is incredible! Everything was presented in a way that looked almost too beautiful to eat, yet the food is too delicious not to. The bilingual staff made us feel right at home, and tended to our every need. We enjoyed the 5-course meal, which was just right for us. I've been there twice now, and have loved every single surprise they have served up. I look forward to my next opportunity to visit.

Amazing food and friendly, professional service just minutes from the border. A great stopover on your way back from Mexican wine country or even as an afternoon journey out from San Diego, this is one of the best restaurants in the region!

Incredible food. Much care and dedication was given to the preparation to the complicated and time consuming dishes. It looked like the staff had worked from morning to evening getting it just right. The level of sophistication is what you would expect in San Francisco. Waiter was very thoughtful and dedicated to making sure we understood exactly what was in each dish. Chef came out at the end to introduce himself which was an added treat. I would make a trip to Tecate just to come here.

Quería hacer algo diferente para el cumpleaños de mi esposo. No había visitado Tecate desde que tenia 10 años y pense que seria algo diferente ir a explorarlo y salir un poco de la rutina. Nos hospedamos en el Hotel Santuario Diegueño que nos encanto, pero hoy quiero hablar del restaurante en el que cenamos. AMORES fue una verdadera sorpresa, por fuera no dice mucho el lugar pero su gastronomía lo dice todo. No hay menu, solo 3 opciones sorpresas: de 4, 5 y 8 tiempos a escoger. Optamos por la de 5 tiempos y cada platillo que llegaba era una delicia. De entrada te reciben con pan y tepanade de la casa y un betabel con carpacho de res delicioso. Después comenzamos con los tiempos : Esquite de calabaza, sopa de tomate, Curel en salsa de mole amarillo, costilla de res deshuesada con vegetales y lechuga frita, pastel de queso con helado de yaca. Todo una fiesta al paladar y esto aunado a una bellísima presentación de los platillos. Desafortunadamente no nos toco conocer al dueño y Chef Marcelo Hisaki para felicitarlo. Conocimos a Jonathan y Erick quienes se esmeraron en atendernos y explicarnos cada platillo que degustamos. Felicidades por el gran equipo que forman. Definitivamente lo recomiendo a todo el que pase por Tecate, AMORES es una parada obligatoria. Nosotros esperamos regresar pronto con la familia.
