Perry was great. Good recommendations, great food and atmosphere
Great Mediterranean food! Have been looking for some since we moved here. We’ll be back!
Always enjoy dining at Restaurant X!
What a gem! Loved the menu. The food was wonderful. We'll definitely return!
Too noisy inside. Food was very good though and reasonably priced. We enjoyed eating outside.
What an unexpected surprise on a rainy Friday night sitting on the patio. Perry provided excellent service, the food was fabulous and the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming. The tuna was really great...combination of flavors was perfect. The meat fell off the lamb bone. We will be back!
We ate here for the first time and found the food fantastic; meatball appetizer was great as was the lamb shank and filet steak. Patio faces the parking lot and street which was just ok. Service was very good despite there being some inner workings confusion. We will definitely return.
We were excited to try Restaurant X based upon other reviews, though we left disappointed. They were out of several beers on tap, the calamari was very bland and overcooked, and one of the main entrees (crab cakes) were undercooked. The saving grace was the lamb shank. It was very nicely done, as were the mashed potatoes. I’m sad to say that we don’t have any plans to return. It’s unfortunate because we live so close. Maybe management will change things up and we can give it another go.
The restaurant was very good in distancing the tables (both outside and inside). The servers were very courteous and friendly. Great prices and service. One of our favorites in the area.
Good food and great service! Will definitely be back!
AMAZING place! Menu is diverse and so delicious. We love this place! Quiet dinner with friends, wonderful staff and the food is fantastic!
It was our first time at Restaurant X, truly a wonderful dining experience! Outstanding food & service. If you are a food aficionado and are passionate about diversity in flavors, you must experience Executive Chef and owner Nazira’s fabulous dishes. The roasted eggplant dip and Main mussels were to die for. We can’t wait to try more wonderful dishes on our next visit to Restaurant X.
Nice pleasant restaurant. Owner is quite friendly. One of the few places to serve lamb shank. No rush, noise level very low and I will return.
We had a wonderful time and even brought a different group in the following night. It was excellent then as well.
Fish and Chips. Great Friday night supper.
Took my parents here for their anniversary(59 years!). The service and food were wonderful. The owner was there and chatted with us too. We had a very enjoyable night.
I had the Ahi Tuna. It was one of the prettiest plated meals I have ever had, and was outstanding. This is a make it fresh, not open a bag and microwave, restaurant. The service was attentive, without being intrusive. The menu had a number of Gluten Free choices. The owner came out a couple of times and chatted with us. It really was very enjoyable. This is our new go to nice restaurant.
The food was delicious and the service was great! I love this place and it’s our new go to
My girlfriend and I made a reservation here for the Valentine's weekend, looking for a nice romantic dinner.
They had the menu of a nicer restaurant, the price point of a moderately nice restaurant, and took reservations, but when you walk in there were these BRIGHT overhead lights from their ceiling fans (so bright that it kinda hurt your eyes) which killed the intimate atmosphere we were hoping for. They were playing music, but it was incredibly loud and was radio music, as opposed to softer, more appropriate music. They had elements of a nicer restaurant (paintings on the wall, decent looking bar), but then had a flat screen TV with a football game on in the dining area... Is this supposed to be a nice, intimate restaurant or a sports bar?? What ultimately ended up causing us to leave was how they handled the menu. They had a special Valentine's menu, charging $50/person for 4 courses. Restaurants do this all the time, but the problem was I didn't want any of the options from the first 2 courses and wasn't sold on the dessert either, and they wouldn't let me just order from the regular menu or only pay for the entree.
In the interest of fairness, the food (specifically, the filet) looked like it would've been pretty good had we actually stayed and tried any of it. Instead we left and went down the road where we could order from a FULL menu and only pay for what we wanted.
The food was fantastic and the service was great
Owner put in a lot of effort, great small town feel.
First I will try and blame the poor rating on us going out on Valentine's day. Our first time doing this in 30 years, never again, and from what I have been told typically a let down everywhere. Arrive to cramped restaurant with no waiting area. Planned on sitting at a bar for drink prior to dinner. Well, no bar service and also no liquor. Beer and with a limited poor wine selection of which again, could not get a glass of wine. Stood, often in way of waitstaff for 20 mins. Seated and was slow for initial service. Very short staffed for expected busy evening. Requested bottle of wine, did not have. Was offered a $5.99 bottle of wine for $36, no thank you. Settled for mediocre wine and was served with very small wine glass. Food mediocre to good depending on which reviewing and way too expensive. We prefer family owned non chain restaurants but this family restaurant will not be on revisit list. Very disappointed. Our disappointment definitely not half as bad as couple next to us. They sat with main entre and no utensils. We also learned they never received their salad or app.
From the moment I walked in, the host never greeted me nor my guest nor acknowledged our existence in front of him. We had reservations and were still not seated within a reasonable amount of time. Once we were seated at a table, not once did a waiter come to our table for the entirety of 25 minutes! Absolutely horrible place to take a significant other for Valentines dinner, nor would I ever come back to this place again. I’m recommending to my family and friends, and any one who reads this review, to never try this “restaurant.”
We enjoyed a four course meal on Valentine’s Day at Restaurant X. Very nice experience! I had the best filet mignon I have ever had. I could, and did, cut it with a fork. The Banoffee pie for dessert was amazing. Our waiter, Corey, was working hard to take care of us. The owner was very friendly and was continuously checking on all the diners. Great dinner and atmosphere. Highly recommended!
It was a busy Valentine's day evening for a party of two in a space some might call "cozy" while others might say "cramped". We didn't mind very much having to ask for utensils. The waiter was good but the food deliverer seemed confused or reluctant to serve us for whatever reason and she in fact never brought us anything although attending to others on both sides of us. The entres arrived before the salads and hors d'oeuvres, awkward but we appreciated the apologies. I would not say no one should ever go there but we are not likely to return.
Small restaurant not enough staff on duty. Over booked.
Food was warm but not hot when served. No order. I would return but never again for a holiday.
Brought my wife here for Valentines Day dinner. What an amazing meal! They were offering a Valentine's Menu that was full of delicious options. Even a Vegan option. They are offering it tomorrow from what I read, tempting to come back
We had Seafood Soup, crab stuffed mushroom caps as appetisers. The entrée was a crab stuffed flounder (me) and an Ahi seared tuna on risotto (wife) though we split and share. Nice presentation and simply delicious.
The dessert was out of this world. We ate one at the table and took the other home.
Best food in Davidson, even compared to the upscale restaurants.
The host was very courteous and attentive as was the chef, his wife, that came out to speak with us.
I found this place on Yelp and as usual, I'm. not disappointed. I think this place deserves 5 stars without hesitation. My wife says finding this place was a home run. Highly recommend and we will be back.
Location was great. Stuffed grape leaves were awesome. Service was a snore. Very slow. Luckily we were not in a hurry, but with only 5 tables seated we were surprised how long I took to get menus, drinks, food... The food was tasty, but did not arrive as hot as we would have liked. Again, only 5 tables. Should have been a slam dunk to deliver piping hot food. Great potential but didn’t quite live up to billing. We will try again to give them another chance.
We enjoyed another fabulous meal at Restaurant X on Saturday night. I has the best crab-stuffed flounder I’ve ever had. The sauce was spectacular! And my wife enjoyed a delicious ribeye steak special. We have yet to be disappointed when eating at Restaurant X, and I highly recommend it to others while in Davidson. The Old English decor gives the place a pub feel, and Nick, the host, completes the vibe. The music was loud enough where we couldn’t hear or be heard by neighboring tables, and yet we had no trouble conversing amongst ourselves. Just really enjoyed the experience and the delicious dinner.
Cute, quaint little restaurant in Davidson. Great menu - a lot of good choices. The shrimp and grits were good. The crab cake and beef tenderloin combo was also good, although there were a few fatty/chewy bites. Never had banofee pie before - so we tried it. It was quite tasty. Overall - we really enjoyed it and plan to return.
A wonderful and quaint restaurant with a nice variety of appetizers and entree choices. The food is very fresh and nicely presented. A great location when you want to enjoy a terrific meal and be able to carry on a conversation. The service is friendly and not rushed. It is in my top 3 in the area.
Really enjoyed the small restaurant environment- great food & enjoyed conversation w/ owner. Very friendly staff.
Super friendly and attentive service. Specials were varied and delicious. We had a great time and plan to return soon.
This was our first time here for my birthday. The service was extremely slow and the food was not good at all
Nick and team did a great job as usually. And the brisket is amazing. Please don’t take it off the menu...ever!!
Always great food and service. Will return
Went for New Year's Eve last night.
The braised brisket and flounder with crab were both well prepared and very tasty.
However, they didn't arrive for almost an hour after we were seated, which was a half-hour after our reservation time.
Yes, I know, it's New Year's Eve and restaurants will be busy. However, my perception was that the restaurant accepted more reservations than they could accommodate and there also seemed to be little concern by management for the amount of time diners were waiting for their food.
If someone would have just stopped by and told us they were doing their best, and when our meals might arrive, we would have been fine.
The meals were very good, but I certainly wasn't made to feel like a valued customer and for that reason I probably won't be back.
We went to Restaurant X for New Years Eve dinner. Once we go there we realized we were there previously. Due to the evening, it was very busy and lively. We sat at the bar and the proprietor was very nice. They only have beer and wine license but the seemed to have an ample variety of both. Food was varied and good.
