In 1993, Toqué! opened featuring local produce: a showcase for Quebec's terroir and its suppliers. The ongoing contributions of these artisans is no less important today. Food was great as was the service. Next time I would do the tasting menu to try all the different creations. We ordered a la carte because we had a late reservation slot. We're pretty spoiled in Montreal with lots of awesome restaurants and this one is right up there.

They told me that my reservation was for the 20 th.Wehad to eat at the bar. It was ok. But I do realize that my reservation was the 17 th.

Vraiment exceptionnel comme nourriture mais $500 pour un souper à 2 c'est tout de même très cher! La boisson y contribue grandement, apéro champagne à $30 chacun, vin à $100+. Service impeccable, amuse-bouche potage navet WOW. J'en garderai un bon souvenir mais à ce prix, on n'y retourne pas souvent.

C’était notre troisième fois et nous avons trouvé que la qualité du service a un peu diminué. A titre d’exemple, plusieurs personnes viennent à table pour faire le service et expliquer le plat, les explications sont rapides et il faut insister pour faire répéter. Nous comprenions qu’il fallait que ça roule. Par contre, le sommelier était très compétent et a pris le temps d’expliquer. Quant à la nourriture c’est bon, mais pas de surprise. Déception pour le foie gras (surtout l’accompagnement pop corn et le reste), de plus le serveur nous avais dit que le poisson était le barre et c’était de la morue, le choix aurait été différent, coup de cœur pour le cerf (très tendre et savoureux). Pour le rapport qualité prix avec vin, il y a de nouveaux restaurants qui se démarquent davantage en originalité et en saveur. Cela dit, le Toque demeure un incontournable et est très respectable. Il nous semblait important de vous partager ces commentaires justement par respect pour le travail que vous faites. Merci et bonne continuité!

Une place est donnée aux produits de qualité et québécois.
Le service est efficace et courtois.
Un travail en sommellerie de très bon niveau.
Beau travail sur les saveurs et les textures.
Belle opportunité de prendre une palette de vins pour 2 personnes moyennant 30$
Du beau, du bon , de façon chaleureuse.
On ne se sent pas bousculé, on ne joue pas la carte de l'attitude prétentieuse.
On ressort repu et heureux

Exceptional food and service (by Marc Andre and his staff) and ambiance. Special thanks to the Maitre d' (name escapes me, but very tall young man with charming personality) who brought us for a tour of the kitchen (spotless and extremely well- organized group of chefs) and allowed us to take a picture with the famous chef/owner, Mr. Normand Laprise. If I could rate this restaurant more than 5 stars, I would to 10 stars..... Just a great restaurant for those who enjoy local ingredients and dishes prepared like never before in any of the high end culinary restaurants in North America....

During our recent visit to Montreal we chose to dine at Toque! about which we had heard very good things. We chose the 7 course tasting menu with 5 wine pairings. The food was superb - very creative, beautifully served and delicious. The wine perfectly complemented the food. Service was impeccable and the servers themselves were professional, friendly and very knowledgable about both the food and wine. I was very pleased to find perfectly cooked seared fois gras on the tasting menu that evening as it is one of my favorite foods but one I only rarely find. Toque! is certainly an expensive restaurant but one that is well worth the money.

We had really high expectations going to Toque during a weekend trip to Montreal. The space was beautiful, although the service was a bit slow--which was a problem for our 9:30 PM reservations--we were almost falling asleep by the time we left because things were a bit slow! The cocktails at the restaurant were amazing and perhaps the high point of the meal--we ordered a la carte and enjoyed all our dishes, but they were not as inventive or amazing and we had hoped. I think I might try other restaurants on a repeat trip to Montreal.

This is a very classy restaurant, not the kind to make you feel bad for being somewhat underdressed, but you can tell by the quality and efficiency of service, the deep knowledge of every member of the staff regarding the food, wine, beer, drinks, culture and things to do around. The level of courtesy is unmatched by any place I've been in my life and I'm a GenX. Some would find the prices high, but for what you get in your mouth and feel in your soul it's almost free. Now, everything else will be more ordinary, I mean the bar is set so high.

Our gratitude to the amazing chefs and their hardworking team. The food was fantastic. The combination of tastes were surprising and in some cases had never occured to me! The experience was unforgettable. However, when you pay that amount of money, which was absolutely worth it, you will evaluate critically and hopefully criticisms are welcome. I believe when people go to a high-end restaurant to celebrate a cause, it would be much more appreciated if the chefs would help make the customers experience memorable. My partner and I went there for his birthday and they gave him a card at the end. The card had a very general birthday theme to it without a mention of his name. Instead, they could have customized a happy birthday message in one of the two desserts included in our 7 course meal or even created an additional one specifically for him. When such expectations are surprisingly satisfied in ordinary restaurants, one might wonder why not here. Additionally, I realized the toilet papers in the washrooms were one of the dryer ones which obviously need to be replaced with quality ones. On the plus side, all of the servers including our main one were incredibly polite, well trained, and attentive. The environment was absolutely beautiful and quiet. Qualities that are absent from majority of ordinary restaurants.

Impressionnant. C'est certain qu'à ce niveau de prix, on s'attend à ce que ça frise la perfection. Nous avons choisi le menu de dégustation 7 services avec les accords vins 5 verres pour pouvoir goûter à tout puisque c'était notre première visite. Quel délice! Du début à la fin, des mets parfaitement exécutés dont l'assaisonnement discret laisse toute la place au goût délicat des aliments. Les vins, tous des importations privée, se mariaient avec les plats et les rendaient encore plus intéressants. Les explications du sommelier ont d'ailleurs été un des bons moments de la soirée. J'ai vraiment apprécié qu'on nous offre le choix entre un pré-dessert (divin!) et des fromages pour le sixième plat. On y retournera... mais il faut ramasser nos sous avant. Disons que ce n'est pas à la portée de tous les portes-feuilles, mais nous avons trouvé que ça en valait la peine.
Contrairement à ce que j'ai lu dans les commentaires, j'étais bien rassasiée en sortant et mon conjoint aussi. De plus, il est normal qu'une expérience culinaire telle qu'un 7 services prenne du temps. Il faut prendre son temps et déguster, autant le repas que le vin. Mais si vous aimez les repas copieux et cochons, vous êtes au mauvais endroit. Personnellement, je préfère de loin la qualité à la quantité.

Absolutely breath taking from start to finish.


The creativity of the chef is unique and captures the essence of a Canadian winter in a plate.

The timing of the servings were perfect and the service is exactly what you’d expect and deserve. Many things that my girlfriend would not be accustomed to were so perfectly presented and prepared that even the fussiest customers could rejoice!

I tip my hat to the entire kitchen and waiting staff.

Toqué! demeure le meilleur restaurant de Montréal à tous les points de vue. Des lieux impeccables, un service professionnel mais aussi chaleureux et sympathique. Un menu qui s'adapte aux saisons et aux arrivages. Des vins bien choisis et suggérés avec talent. Bref, une expérience qui gagne à être répétée.
