About Restaurant Toque!
In 1993, Toqué! opened featuring local produce: a showcase for Quebec's terroir and its suppliers. The ongoing contributions of these artisans is no less important today. We have them to thank for foie gras de canard or salicornia; lamb of heirloom vegetables; seafood or fine herbs. These tireless farmers, foragers and fishermen inspire Toqué!'s cuisine, on which they bestow tastes, textures and natural aromas and unparalleled freshness.

Restaurant Toque! Ratings and Reviews
This was our fifth time at Toque, but we have to say that this was the worst service ever at Toque! As usual we ordered the tasting menu with foie gras, overall the food was great except for one dish that we both agreed that it wasn't the best, which was the pork belly with pork sausage on the side.We were surprised by the dessert course because it was very interesting. The service was fine until the end of meal, after dessert our waiter didn't come by to our table until 20-25 minutes later to ask if we need any tea or coffee! We know that he was serving 3 other tables, but honestly we weren't happy at all! We had a bit of crumbs on the table and our waiter nor anybody came by to clean it up for us! We're not even sure if we will return again.
We did the Tasting Menu; don't normally spend that much on dinner, but it was well worth it - food was amazing, so was the presentation of it. It was wonderful to take our time savouring each of the 7 courses, and trying new things. Would definitely recommend for a special night out!
Absolutely delicious meal and wonderful pairings of wine (with demi-verre option) for each course. Thoroughly enjoyed the tuna tartare, the duck parmentier and the chocolate dessert. We had a baby with us and our waiter, Philippe, was wonderful with her. Tables are laid out well in the spacious room and gives you the privacy you want for conversation. The lunch menu is very good value for a sophisticated dining experience. We could become regulars here...
Once again, restaurant Toque has outdone themselves. We took the 7 course tasting menu, there were two services of tuna were absolutely stunning! The dessert was exceptional, just to name a few ingredients from the dessert: pear, olive oil, pepper! The result was to die for.
Restaurant Toque is a must for serious foodie coming to Montreal.
Got the tasting menu and was extremely disappointed. The food was very bland and did not taste very well. Felt like a 2 stars restaurant pretending to be a 4 stars. The quality of the food was not good neither with some of the items which were very hard to eat cause of either being too salty, not cooked or just not tasty.
LOVED this restaurant. Had BLT salad, sea snail salad, guinea fowl and suckling pig loin and roasted belly. Guinea fowl breast was a bit overcooked, but delicious. All hail the suckling pig. It was a bit pricey, but would definitely go back. In fact, we tried to go for lunch the next day, but the restaurant is closed for lunch on the weekends.
We were there to celebrate our mother's 82nd birthday and check an item on her "bucket list". We appreciated the unpretentious atmosphere, the attentive but unintrusive service, but mostly the food. We chose the menu degustation, with the discovery wine tasting. We were given pertinent information with every service, the pace was apropriate the food was a pleasant surprise every time, warranting a comment around the table. We will not pretend to be knowledgeable in the field of food, but we certainly can appreciate presentation, but more importantly, texture, taste and variety of these that we were presented with in each plate.
The 5 of us we very pleased with our dining experience and our mother was not disappointed with her request.
Expensive, but worth it. Very interesting flavor combinations throughout our meal. My wife started with the artic char appetizer, which was outstanding. I started with the "BLT" which was a whole tomato slice horizontally with bacon and burrata between each slice. Beautiful and creative, but slightly bland. For entrees we had the halibut and the guinea hen, both of which were very flavorful with excellent accompaniments. Dessert was a local blueberry tart with marscapone and rosemary. Perhaps the best fruit tart I've ever had. Service was attentive, casual and friendly. Decor is modern, interesting and comfortable.
Our hotel concierage claimed this is the best restaurant in Canada, and certainly nothing in our experience refuted that. We were fans of the late lamented Lumiere in Vancouver; this is a worthy successor to the "best restaurant" claim. Everything about it was outstanding. Tasting menu is extraordinary. Be prepared to spend money (tasting menu is $110), but it is definitely worth it.
Two people, two first courses, two main courses, one dessert. One bottle of wine at $120. Total tab, $500+ which is just stupid. Complete waste of money. The food was boring and average, popcorn amuse bouche was done over with two years ago... princess scallops were overpowered by their seasonings and milky. The rack of suckling pig and belly was average. The belly was way overcooked and the rack (two pieces) left me wondering why I had just forked over $48 for it. The dessert was easily forgotten and the only thing good I could say as we exited was that the service had been spot on. Truthfully I have had better food from a street cart on the corner and wa utterly dissatisfied.
My husband I choose Toque for an early first anniversary celebration. We were not dissapointed. The food was unbelievable. The wine selection was fantastic. And the service was probably some of the best we've ever had. Our experience at Toque was in our top 3 best EVER restaurant experiences!
Great food and fantastic service.
Tasteless decor and staff uniforms.
Probably the worst decor I have ever seen at a fine dining establishment.
So bad it takes away from what otherwise could have been a perfect dining experience.
A sadly casual environment for a dinner that cost $400+ for me an my date.
Not an appropriate venue for a romantic outing.
One sommelier (tall guy with a brush cut) even seemed to have a chip on his shoulder and couldn't keep his eyes off my date.
Didn't look at me once. Luckily he only poured one glass of wine from the 5 glass pairing.
Aside from him the service was the best I ever experienced.
As an executive that travels globally this says a lot.
BUT I will not be returning.
Excellent food and good service. Wine paring was average. It is everything we expected. Le Bernardin still offers the best seafood. Toque's substitution plates are the best if you prefer not to have a lot meat on the degustation menu. For the same menu, one has to pay at least twice back in the States. If you want to be positively surprised, go to to Europa. But if you want good food, Toque is hard to beat. Natural flavoring will keep my doctor very happy. If you are still hungry after the tasting menu, you could go to Fairmont Bagels for midnight snacks. They are open 24/7. Well, they are both very good.
