Restaurant Orsay Ratings and Reviews
This is always our #1 spot for brunch, guests, date monthly date nights. Food is outstanding, no matter what you order. Brunch favs are Duck Confit Hash, Quiche of the Day, Pate du Jour, & Beef Strogonoff. Dinner favs are Bouillabaisse, Sea Scallops, Duck Breast, Cassoulet, and Braised Beef Short Ribs. Service is OUTSTANDING! You'll have multiple servers making sure you have all you need.
food is always great but service is up in the air depending on who you get went Saturday with friends for lunch waited quite a while before even putting in drink order waiter could see I was annoyed then he stepped up his service but whatever service you get the food and cocktails are worth it
Drove from Gainesville with friends and they loved it. Delicious French/Southern/Coastal brunch menu, truly professional service, and excellent attention to detail everywhere you look. Highly recommend the deviled eggs, scone and muffin plate, hangar steak and eggs, pommes frites, quiches, coffee, etc.! If you've worked in the restaurant industry you will be impressed at how Orsay does so much so well. It's the type of restaurant people who love to cook would want to own - enjoy it!
Love the cocktail happy hour! Every one that we tried was fabulous! The scallop appetizer was awesome and flavorful, but the short rib in the beef stroganoff will always be my favorite. I try to venture out, but end up getting it every time and am never disappointed!
I enjoy eating food, or should I say, good food. The meal I had at Orsay, was outstanding. Our group had reservations, we were promptly seated. The waiter was very attentive and helpful in answering all our questions. I encourage anyone to visit Orsay and you will throughly be delighted.
We were really looking forward to eating here as it came highly recommended by a few friends but left extremely underwhelmed. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful however our food was not nearly what we had hoped. The flavor of the roasted oysters was overtaken by the topping, the lobster in the lobster mac was tough, the fries were stale as if they had been reheated and overly salted, and the scallops were a bit chewy as well. This may have been an "off" night for them but we do not plan to return.
Well, I have to say that we had an absolutely grand meal. It was our anniversary, so we wanted to have a nice meal and celebrate, so we both ordered the filet (yum!). Not only was our Server, very courteous and attentive, but our whole meal was incredible, from the appetizers and salads, all the way thru to our deserts & coffee! We were greeted by our Server with a glass of champagne for both of us, which was a great start to our night of celebration! Thank you, it was a wonderful night!!
Dined during their Saturday Happy Hour and shared small plates. Favorites were duck rillettes; raw oysters and bouillabaisse. Server was friendly, courteous and helpful. He and other service staff were excellent. Look forward to returning for dinner service.
I always enjoy dining at this establishment. I am rarely disappointed. I had the French Toast with a side of bacon. My friend ordered poached eggs, she stated they were amazing. Griffin, the server was attentive --- we never had to worry about the water, coffee or mimosa going dry. For take away, the lobster mac n cheese --- amazing.
My wife and I were there for our anniversary, it is one of her favorite places in town. We were greeted with champagne. She loves the mussels, really top notch, we also had roasted oysters, she had a flounder preparation with stone ground grits and I had the short rib with roasted cauliflower and duxelle bread pudding. Chocolate Bouchon and wonut for dessert. Service and food were excellent.
I guess Orsay is pretty much my favorite restaurant in Jacksonville. I have another that occasionally is a favorite but it is so inconsistent. Orsay is consistent both in quality of the food and excellence of the service. We require a gluten free menu and many restaurants insist that you ask the server if something can be made gluten free. Having a menu helps a lot. Service is great; attentive, helpful, unobtrusive. Desert was a delicious finale to the meal.
I took my wife here for our wedding anniversary. The food was amazing. Seating was a bit uncomfortable and close together. Service was great for the most part. Our server was kind, friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, when our server got several large tables back to back, we were not checked on very often and our entrees took a long time to come out. We didnt mind the wait, as we had ordered several apps first that held us over. The manager came out with our entrees and apologized. They gave us a free dessert to make up for it. I will be back and will be recommending this place to friends and family.
