Server was great! Did not feel rushed at all. Food is always fantastic. Drinks are strong. Trout is unbelievable.
We have been to Orsay on several occasions and it has always been outstanding. There is a consistency in excellent service and excellent food every time. I decided to try the venison (I usually get sea food). It was tender and tasty and cooked exactly as I ordered it. Margaret had pan seared flounder that was cooked just right. It was moist and tender. We doubt we will ever be disappointed with either the service or the cuisine at Orsay's.
The food, waitstaff, and environment was great. We sat in a booth and even had great conversation with the patrons next to us. Highly recommend this place to any and all!
I took my wife on 4-21-18 to celebrate her 47th birthday. I enjoyed it and she definitely enjoyed it too. Mixed drinks were great and food was great too
Very pleasant atmosphere. Food was well prepared and flavorful. Lots of options to choose from. Waiter was excellent and knowledgeable. Perfect atmosphere for everyday dining and special events.
The lobster pot pie was absolutely incredible! I was skeptical about the bread pudding, it was amazing!!!!!!!
This was our 13th Anniversary dinner. We usually reserve Orsay for special events or special dinners with friends. Having dinner at Orsay is usually a special occasion as it’s a bit pricy and a tad formal compared to most Jacksonville establishments. Service is always top notch and this dinner was no exception, our waitress was pleasant and attentive. Now, about the food we have had well prepared delicious food here but this was not one of those occasions. I started my meal with the Onion Soup, it was excellent than not being in the mood for something extravagant I ordered the Beef Stroganoff. Disappointing at best. I kept waiting for some delicious taste but it just never came. As someone who cooks it just seemed to taste bland and lacked any seasonings. My wife had the Steak Tartare and thought it was perfect size, presentation and taste. She also had the Potato Croquets and loved them. Overall a nice evening with a complementary Creme Brûlée for our anniversary. We will reserve Orsay again. The three star rating was for the beef stroganoff, next time I’ll order something else.
Our evening was excellent , as usual. The food was great as was the service. Loved being there on Mon....very quiet!!
This was our visit...........great find. From start to finish we had a wonderful evening celebrating my birthday. The staff were all very friendly and efficient Meghan in particular. Food was beautifully cooked and presented. The petit fours idea ......very clever and appealing especially as I don’t usually eat dessert as they are always too big .We will definitely return on our next visit to Jacksonville.
Our server was very patient and knowledgeable. Our wine and food was excellent!
Sunday was my second time at Restaurant Orsay in a week! After visiting the previous Monday and having a great experience, I couldn't resist going back for Brunch. If you like to have a mimosa or 6, the natural orange juice they have is simply delightful and you can get them reasonably priced (28 for the Great Mimosa (includes a bottle of sparkling wine and 16 oz of orange juice). My partner and I got the mushroom bisque soup-of-the-day and it was just as delightful as Monday, so points for consistency. For starters, we both tried the One-Dollar deviled eggs, and good lord they were good -but on the saltier side. My partner got the Croque Sandwich, we shared an order of Pomme Frites (fried in duck fat) and for myself, I got the Bourbon and Orange French Toast (superb!). The whole meal was delightful. For the ambience, the scene was a little different because it was much busier than Monday night (a lil bit noisy). Our server was still great and we didn't have to wait too much. There was staff consistently clearing plates and refilling water for the whole meal. Overall, it was definitely worth the money if you are looking for a date spot where you'll be treated like the only couple in the room and have consistently mouth watering, savory food choices ($80, with 20% tip). I'm definitely coming back in the future!
Orsay is by far our favorite place in Jacksonville.
Parking was an issue and it was very loud. Hard to carry on a conversation, but the food was good.
The food was great, but our server was not. Usually receive great service at Orsay, but this time it was not what I have come to expect from Orsay.
My only complaint is that this restaurant is very noisy in the bar area and was noisy (full house) this Saturday. If you need quieter table, best to go during the week and ask to sit in quiet corner near the sidewalk (front doors). Love this restaurant. The food and service always great.
Great experience overall! Food and cocktails were delicious!!
As always, our meal was fantastic! The fried pork chop is our favorite entree for brunch. It is, by far, the best we have ever had; always extremely lean and tender. We also had biscuits and gravy, cheese grits and the daily soup special, which happened to be mushroom bisque.
Either our waiter's timing or the kitchen's timing were extremely off, however. We arrived, and ordered, before each table around us. Our first course, the bisque, was extremely slow coming out. Then, we waited another 20 or more minutes for our entrees, after we had finished our soup. Our server was, however, quite personable.
We would dine here more frequently, but, the prices seem more than a little high compared to comparable, higher end restaurants. Maybe, establishment feels that high rating equates to high prices.
Food was great as well as the service , very helpful ! Chris was our server , he was awesome !
Always amazing. Better than Ruth Chris or Morton’s!
Great service and great food with the exception of my wife’s fish of the day, Carolina flounder, which was overly salty. Everything else was spot-on, including the desserts. Would definitely return however.
Restaurant Orsay was absolutely delightful. The service was honestly the best I've ever had, but not clingy at all. Our waters stayed topped and we never had to worry about dishes piling up on the table. Our server did amazing. We were dining for a business dinner and I'm a vegetarian, so finding places for everyone is not always easy and I was so happy to see that Restaurant Orsay had an entire VEGAN/VEGETARIAN menu! I got the vegetarian shepherd's pie and my god was it good. It is "pricy" for the average night out, but absolutely worth it considering how good the service, food, and wine was.
So happy with the service. Very helpful and it made my girlfriends birthday dinner wonderful.
Loved brunch here.
Anniversary dinner. Greeted with a glass of champagne- perfect. Food was fabulous , perfectly presented & prepared. Our server, Tony was wonderful also. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening & can’t wait to return!
Orsay is consistently a top choice for a great dining experience. We went early for a pre show dinner and were happy to see that they offer a happy hour menu even on Saturday for some discounts on drinks and some food. The menu has a LOT of choices. French is the main theme however every kind of food lover is accommodated with the vast array of choices. After living in France I chose 2 French classics - escargot and foie gras. The foie gras was perfectly cooked with a delicious sweet sauce on the plate that you could use or ignore. The escargot was delicious and my only complaint is that there are so many mushrooms under the shells that the amount of delicious buttery dipping sauce was lacking, though the mushrooms were a nice touch. My husband had beef stroganoff and it was absolutely delicious. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the food and was perfectly attentive.
An overall great dining experience.
Loved our waiter. He was very helpful and tolerated my sense of humor. Very helpful with the brunch menu and answer all our questions.
Service was lacking. This applied to the entire floor staff. We are accustomed to amazing attention at this restaurant, but we were left waiting for needed items after each course was served. Very disappointing. Not what we expect from this restaurant.
Megan was great as our waitress. Some of the food was not as good as I expected especially with the presentation. Mixed drinks were lousy too. I would go back but there are things I would definitely not order.
We finally made it to Orsay and they lived up to our expectations. We arrived early from work with a 5:30pm reservation and enjoyed the quiet and music before the majority of diners arrived about an hour later. They have great specials on drinks and small plates for happy hour. Our meals were so very good. Orsay knows how to perfectly season their food and make outstanding sauces. We’ll be back!
Restaurant Orsay, in our opinion, is one of the very best restaurants in Orsay. The entire staff is terrific and the food is the very best. Each of us ordered a different entree ranging from flounder to hangar steak and everyone raved about their food. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants a great dinner
I had read excellent reviews on this place. We had to wait almost an hour to get our food. There were multiple diners who came in after us and got their food before us. Our order was not difficult. We went here for Easter and had a reservation. The restaurant was not filled to capacity but still for some reason our order was really delayed. The waitress was very nice but I felt maybe she had too many tables to service? I am not sure.
Service was excellent and food was average. Usually the food is as good as the service but this time it missed the mark. Food was good but not excellent. Maybe Brunch is not their meal.
Pretty disappointing visit! Aside from our waiter being very slow, and getting our order wrong, my meal was just so-so and the shepherd’s pie I ordered for my 18 month old came out with severely undercooked veggies. Basically, we paid $13 for 8 bites of mashed potatoes because she couldn’t eat the rest. Then finally, when the waiter first ran my card, he over charged me by almost $70. We’re typically pretty big fans of Orsay, but this was definitely our least favorite trip thus far:(
Orsay never disappoints! The food is always wonderful and the wait staff is always professional.
Awesome food experience as always and our server Alexandra was exceptional!
This is my 4th time at Restaurant Orsay, have been dining here when I’m visiting Jacksonville over the past year and a half and it’s always in my plans to have at least one meal here. This was my second Easter brunch and it did not disappoint. Orsay’s deviled eggs are always amazing -so creative and delicious and you have total flexibility in how to order -can mix any combination and pay by the egg. Also, the omelets are so good. Seems like such a simple dish but Orsay makes them better than anyone. I’ve had dinner here on other visits and that was every bit as good with the addition of a great wine and cocktail list.
Our favorite restaurant in JAX. Third visit and never disappointing.
Great service, great food, LOUD environment!
WE have been to Orysay's before but it must have been mid-week. Our reservation was for 6:15 and the room was full, with too much noise and activity. Server was good but he was very busy and only had so much time to spend with us. Probably should have had fewer tables and been able to spend more time with each table. My wife had the pan fried fish dish (flounder )and it was cooked to perfection - a great dish. I had the beef stroganoff. The portion was a little small but very good.
We have been to many up-scale Jacksonville restaurants and still believe yours is among the best. We will come again, but not on a weekend.
