Masterchef Eoghain ONeill delivers a fresh take on comfort food and transports the astute diner to a worldly culinary journey.

We have three dining sections to cater to various appetites. Our lounge offers both tapas and brasserie food with a wide selection of cocktails, beers and wines. Our main dining has brasserie food with French classics and Italian favorites. Our upstairs Tasting Room has a bay view and is open to all guests by reservation and first come, first serve basis and is a great space for special functions and business dinners.

Four our tasting menus, we invite the entire table to choose between a six-course tasting menu or a surprise nine-course tasting menu specially curated by Chef O’Neill for a sui generis culinary experience. Wine-pairing optional.

    Perhaps I had built up my expectations too much. We had a great waiter, Nicole, who didn't recommend my wife get the beef filet because, at medium well doneness it would likely be tough. I should have paid close attention as I ordered the filet medium rare. Well, the filet came, was very tough and done to what I would call medium, not medium rare (warm but rare center). They graciously cooked me another filet which was also medium, but only tough around the edges (the silver skin had not been removed) and I ate it. Everything else was great! The veggies and potatoes were excellent, the presentation beautiful. Even the house Cabernet was very good. If we travel to Coos Bay and go again, I will avoid the beef steaks.

    We had an amazing 5 course meal that definitely did not disappoint!! It’s always fun to try new foods with Chef O- not only is the presentation beautiful, the food is divine. Paired with some Silver Oak cab—it made for an amazing dinner and experience!

    Where do I begin, we arrived at our reservation time and were told it would be a bit of a wait. The hostess, the wife of the chef, blamed it on the customers that like to linger. Rule number 1, never blame your customers! We waited 30 minutes for our table. The hostess continued to blame it on their customers for our being seated late, we got to our table and she informed our waiter that we had been waiting 30 minutes and then ran off. Our waiter, deer in the headlights look, didn’t even know where to start. Phil, I think his name was, made the issue even worst, we stated that we had reserved the 9 course tasting and he just curtly stated that wasn’t available tonight and that they had another tasting because of Valentine’s Day. That left us feeling even more dissatisfied, never apologized just left the table for us to decide what to do. Finally he came back, I showed him our booking and asked why we were never called about this before our reservation, no answer. We decided to order off the menu. The food arrived and was very good as always although a little cold and maybe not as well presented. But non the less very good. Looking around the upstairs dining area there were 6 tables that had been left uncleared for our whole time there, Phil never attempted to clean them up and his skills as a waiter were very lackluster. We finished and thought about dessert, waited for our plates to be removed for another half hour, nothing. Finally having had enough of our bad experience we left, went downstairs to pay out bill, which Phil never brought to our table. Finally he appeared downstairs to give us our bill, we payed and left. My husband has never not left a tip before and left no tip this time. This was by far the worst experience we have ever had. Mind you we had eaten at this restaurant 5 times before and had a great time. Let me just say, it’s not the customers fault I think you need to look at your own processes as to why customers are feeling like we did.

    This was our third time at the restaurant. I love their French onion soup! I don’t like onions but I even ate them. Our waiter was good but kind of inattentive. Not against him just needs to step it up a little. Will be back for our anniversary. Thanks for being such a wonderful place to enjoy such great food

    This was my first wine pairing event at Restaurant O, and having been to others, I am impressed with my experience. The timing was off, I had my wine served 10-15 minutes prior to my food pairing, but overall, everything was great!

    Our dinner at Restaurant O was extraordinary. We saw the bright lights of the crab boats out at sea the night before, and thought of the fishermen working in the cold and inky darkness. Chef O honored their labor and the iconic Dungeness crab in his presentation inspired by the Pacific - - an abstract and very tasty depiction of the sea, complete with foam. It was the best of all worlds to enjoy fresh crab elevated to fine dining through the imagination and artistry of MasterChef O’Neill. Restaurant O is the best restaurant on the Oregon coast.

    My husband ordered the 6 course only the chef knows the menu and was pleasantly surprised. He really enjoyed the wine with the meal it perfectly paired with the food. They even gave me a taste of it and wow was it good. They did a happy birthday dessert for him. It was great to meet the chef and our waiter Bill was right on it for everything. Thanks for a great 69th birthday celebration

    Chef’s experience was amazing! Masterchef O’Neill was able to accommodate and make substitutions for a few items which allowed me to participate with my family! Already planing our next dinner at Restaurant O!

    Upon entering it is a little confusing where to go, the main room you walk into is actually the bar- not the main restaurant. You need to go through a little breezeway/ramp to get to the dining room - still has windows. The place is clean- no neglected tables from previous guests, and the floors are free of food. I am disgusted when you walk into a restaurant and food bits are all over. I appreciate a very clean space - like Restaurant O. We had an early dinner- at 6:00ish. Ordered Ginger Salmon and Ribeye Steak. The palete cleanser was very good- and a nice surprise as we didn’t order it - esp the gazpacho type shot of cold soup. The vegetable side option was cooked perfectly - not over-cooked mushy, rather still a little crips-fresh and not drenched in oil. Great flavor. The salmon- was perfectly cooked - I asked for medium rare. I did not really taste the ginger. The ribeye was large in size and looked fantastic, but the meat was very chewy. My husband usually eats all his steak but discreetly spit mouthfuls out. - I didn’t even know until I went to try his salad and found it in there. The mashed potatoes were ladened with oil/butter. Nothing special. I should have opted for the jasmine rice, as the small multicolored potatoes that looked interesting as a side option - I would have preferred, but they were out of them. The side salad was very good with their house dressing of creamy balsamic. Overall, very nice dinner. I would skip the Americano (coffee drink) next time. Looked like a nice Nespresso machine, but it turned out too watery/weak. We didn’t have any other drinks so can’t comment on that. The menu looks wonderful and would love to go back sometime to try other items. The prices were fair, especially given it feels like an elevated restaurant with quality ingredients (minus the ribeye) The waitress was pleasant, attentive and helpful. Hats off to the owner(s) who brought some much needed elevation to Coos Bay! Hope they are here to stay.

    I cannot say enough about our experience at the Restaurant O in Coos Bay! Everything was awesome. I highly recommend giving the smoky bacon, old-fashioned a try!  My husband and I had a wedding anniversary, and our friends joined us. We were a party of eight. Their wine and cocktail choices were awesome. As was the dinner menu. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the service was great. I highly recommend giving Restaurant O a try. If you’re in the Coos Bay area.

    We had an incredible evening at Restaurant O! Completely blown away by the Absolutely Amazing meal and wonderful service we enjoyed for our anniversary weekend! An unexpected delight! We would highly recommend Restaurant O for dinner anytime or a special evening out!

    Pasta and seafood dishes were amazing (some of the best I've had). Burger was not good (bread stale, burger bland). Service was ok but didn't really check on us much. Value was good about $200 for family of 4. Food was super slow. Took 2 hours to get served 3 courses. I think with a little better management they can get to a 5 star.

    We had a memorable anniversary dinner. Even a good laugh. There seemed to be a little miscommunication between kitchen staff and our server. Which was honestly no problem at all. Our server was fantastic, cooks were on point, food was prompt (way better than previous visits) although one dish was not up to par for me. The calamari appetizer could have been a little crispier and the lemon aioli didn’t taste like lemon, my husband enjoyed it, I just didn’t like the texture so it could have just been my preferences. Last time I ordered it, it was amazing. All our other dishes were perfect. We did have a good laugh when we were brought a happy birthday design on our dessert plate instead of a happy anniversary. We will enjoy the memory down the road. The house made truffles were fantastic to share later in night at home. Will definitely be ordering them again in the future!

    The food was ok. We ordered the goat cheese and artichoke salad but we received a green salad with goat cheese with no artichoke. The server told us that the cook probably forgot to put artichoke! Seriously!!!! The ribeye was a very large dish and was good. The lamb rack was good. A bit too salty. The churros was good but the chocolate sauce was liquid and not too much taste of chocolate. We were expected more from this restaurant knowing the legacy of the chef and owner of the place.

    We choose the 6 course tasting menu which included an amuse Boucher and palate cleanser as courses which, of course, is absurd. I’m severely lactose intolerant- the chef was utterly incompetent and that’s scary because if I had an actual allergy there could have been a serious outcome. We literally are still sitting here waiting for dessert 2 and 1/2 hours after arrival. After alll that the food was ok - not even close to high end

    The vegan menu is wunderbar! I started with the watermelon mojito; the flavor was a bit too light: it needed more of a zip. The chef made the beetroot hummus fresh when I ordered it and it was to die for! I had the spicy veggies in red sauce which was flavored, but the vegetables were cut too small. The strawberry soup was delicious, but again needed a bit more zip. This was our second experience and the first was much better. The food was much more flavorful and rich. It must be a new chef? He was very sweet and thoughtful and we thanked him for the meal. The service was excellent and the ambiance created is relaxing. It’s really too bad the woman right behind me was a chatter box who spoke loudly and incessantly, also there was a screaming baby. This was not what I had dreamt up in my mind for our 4th-wedding anniversary dinner, but I’m glad we went back because we celebrated our second wedding anniversary here as well.

    The Filet Mignon Oscar was terrific. Cooked Med Rare perfectly. Also try the Ginger Salmon. The Pork Belly bites are very good also. The food was a bit slow getting to the table but considering the quality and flavor that was a very small concern.

    The unassuming exterior of the restaurant does not reflect the experience awaiting inside. The six course dinner accompanied by the wine pairing transported us from Coos Bay to a multi star restaurant on the east coast. So many senses were heightened by the nearly three hour meal. The presentation for each course was underscored by the layered experience within the textures and flavors. Before our dinner was over, we were already planning our return trip.

    We had an outstanding meal at Restaurant O. The ginger salmon, truffle mashed potatoes, bruschetta, pork belly and fettuccine Alfredo were all delicious! The service was great and the special birthday dessert made our meal very special.

    We were here last January and it was fantastic and we thought bringing friends here for a nice dinner this time was a great idea Ugh! Two out of five dishes were acceptable, one (fish and chips) took 15 minutes to deliver after the other four, scallops were WAY to salty, tuna was way over cooked to the point we thought they added thin steak to an all seafood dish. Calamari was so over done there was nothing but a batter shell. Overall, just awful! Dine at your own risk.

    What an amazing experience. The food was amazing! I had the lobster asparagus risotto and my husband had the chicken Parmesan. Our server, Adria recommended a new white wine which was fantastic. She was great! Everything was perfect!

    We had show tickets & Nicole managed it beautifully. She helped so much with selection advice & managed the female’s multiple tapas as dinner selections. The guys had dinners which were wonderful, scallops & ribs. She even got our dessert to us in time to make the show. Fabulous menu & presentation. A jewel!

    Our first time to this restaurant. They’ve done a remarkable job remodeling and updating the space. We waited quite awhile for someone to notice we were waiting to be seated. They might consider having a front-of-house receptionist. It was the 3 wait persons that seated people, disrupting their tasks. Also, it looked like the 3 waitstaff randomly served tables at all corners of the room. Seems inefficient. The menu is large with a nice assortment of choices. We both opted for a dinner course that included choice of 2 sides. I would have preferred that my salad be delivered first rather than with main course. Companion had mixed vegetables, which also were served in a separate bowl. He said the veges were essentially raw. Main courses were filet mignon and lamb chops, both very good. My plate could have been warmer. I thought prices were fair for the food and wine. I will return. I think the restaurant could benefit from some better organization.

    We had an excellent experience at Restaurant O! We each ordered the 3 course dinner as well as appetizers and were far from disappointed. The wait staff was most excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect. Please come here if you want to have a real food experience lovingly made by, what I consider, an artist. I say this, because the dinner was not only a burst of beautiful flavors that blanketed my pallet, but the plate presentation was gorgeous! I highly reccomend this place for a fine dining experience; and have every intention of returning when we travel back this way!

    The first thing out of the gate was wonderful and set some great expectations and we we’re definitely looking forward to the dinner. The appetizer was calamari but got half calamari and half zucchini. Stretcher? Dinner was disappointing - Undercooked lobster, overcooked pasta, bagged lettuce salad, cold broccoli, overall very disappointing. Wait staff was excellent. First time we’d been there since once O opened but we won’t be back. Very expensive mediocre meal.

    The food is so excellent. The master chef came out and talked to us. We told him (group of 3) how fantastic the dishes are and their presentation
