Food was amaze
We had the 6 course meal everything was excellent cooked to perfection and the flavor was on another level
Always a great experience here. Staff took the time to make our night special and accommodate our needs. Food and Service top notch. Will always come back.
You can always count on an outstanding meal with equally outstanding service at Nicholas.
As always, we had a great experience dining at Nicholas. There are always new dishes to try and they never disappoint. The level of service is as high as ever.
Just had our first dinner at Nicholas. Had the 4 course tasting menu with wine pairing. . It was exceptional.
Celebrating anniversary & late Valentine’s Day. Excellent food and service. The banana bread and chocolates were such an unexpected treat. Can’t wait to go back for another special occasion.
Ive been going 2 a year for 30 years.Very consistent, only once I was disapoointed, but otherwise, right up there with 11 Madison and Jean Jorge
Between the outstanding service and delicious food, Nicholas is a very special treat!
Restaurant Nicholas can only be described as perfection. You must experience this fantastic meal!
Mahi mahi with brown rice, pineapple and a hint of teriyaki was extraordinary. Souffle was thick and creamy, but with a nice pear taste. However, I like souffles that are light and airy. If this souffle had been light and airy with a nice vanilla-pear sauce it would have been a home run.
Absolutely phenomenal! The food and wine were both perfect. The service was excellent. The scallop appetizer and the suckling pig were both incredible. Even the squash soup amuse-bouche was delicious.
The place was almost empty when we were there, mid afternoon on President's Day. The food and service were excellent, the sound very quiet. It is an hour's drive from our home, so we do not come often, but we will be back.
Never a bad experience at Restaurant Nicolas. Impeccable service and delicious food every time.
We go here once a year for a special dinner. It is a little expensive but the service and food are unbelievable. Food portions were sufficient, cocktails well poured and the wine list offers very fair pricing. No ripoffs! All of the wait staff is very knowledgeable and helpful in choosing a dish. I love this place!
So disappointed to open the menus to find the regular menu replaced with a limited VALENTINE'S DAY menu, even though it wasn't Valentine's day any longer. Instead of the regular $75 pp tasting fee..they added $50 per person to the charge. Significant difference, no?
They said they tried to post the menu change on their website, to no avail.
Suggestion: How about when the desk person calls to confirm your reservation, mention it then?
Restaurant Nicholas is incredible - the service, the food, and the ambiance is second to none. I felt the price tag associated with these wonderful features is a bit high. I've had similar experiences for ~25% less overall.
We usually eat in the bar when we go but decided to try the restaurant menu which you can not get in the bar. Not thrilled with wine selections they have. Tried a Chardonnay but didn’t like it and asked if they had another Chardonnay which she said they did. Did not know one glass was going to be $53.
The food was excellent. The staff walked around like robots and our server was more of a maitre’d who was not very friendly. Not one person had a smile on their face.
Valentines Day - Our Special Day was made amazing by Nicolas.
The food and service were exceptional. The ambiance was great. Completely worth the price. We will definitely be returning.
Always a fantastic dining experience!
Great service, food and wine. We will definitely be back!
The menu selections, food and service were outstanding. Especially enjoyed our fish entrees (panko crusted halibut, sea bass, magic mani). The delicious cranberry bread was offered over and over...we took advantage every time.
Service was efficient and well timed.
Delighted to discover this fine dining gem near the shore.
Food quality and service has definitely gone down. We were 8 people celebrating a special birthday. We all had the tasting menu accompanied by the special wine tastings. The total bill was $2,348. Most times we could not hear/understand the girl describing the food. The desserts were, at best, uninspiring. Most food was ordinary and not presented in a manner reflecting the price. To acknowledge the birthday, one little candle was stuck in the not great little cake dessert. It was unceremoniously placed in front of the birthday celebrant and not acknowledged in any other way.
Money NOT well spent.
My wife and I dined at Nicholas this past Saturday. The wine list was comprehensive, the bread was fresh and excellent, the minestrone was deliciously unique, the entrees' (especially the filet mignon) were sublime. Hard to find room for the exquisites desserts.
Definitely high on our special list!!
We ordered the tasting menu and it was spectacular. I do have to say I was running out of room to finish my food. It was wonderful. I am very grateful that we have a wonderful dining experience in our area. Thank you Nicolas.
Everything was outstanding. From the food to the waiting staff. Highly recommend!
Hate to say it; but Nicholas is not what it used to be. I have eaten there numerous times over several years, but this visit was completely disappointing. A duck confit ravioli appetizer turned out to be tough duck dumplings with a cloyingly and nauseatingly sweet, thick cherry sauce and an overly salty filling. Panko crusted halibut was positively dry and paired with an overly rich creamy sauce and limp lumps of bok choy. The vanilla soufflé ($5 supp on an already $75 price fix three course meal) was more like a rubbery pile of meringue and paired with an odd pile of chocolate cake crumbs and a dollop of pear sorbet. Our waiter was uncomfortably pompous, and for a $20 a glass of champagne didn’t even fill my glass half way up, since he finished the bottle pouring my glass...and left it like that. The food was strangely conceived and mediocre, the noise level loud, the entire night an expensive bust. I will not be returning, and I wonder how long this restaurant will be able to rely on its previous solid reputation for fine dining. This experience, not fine at all.
Fabulous birthday celebration with delicious food. Top selection was the fois gras with banana. Half of our party of four had the tasting menu and loved every single selection. The pot de creme dessert was wonderful. Recommend this restaurant highly. Only issue was we were seated next to a large group of young women celebrating a friend. They were quite noisy and loud. Other than that, this was a spectacular evening.
They should open the wine in front of you but.... nice place
Excellent as always
Black truffle menu... awesome!
Awesome. Simply awesome
Had our office holiday party at Nicholas. Hadn’t been there in a while. It was wonderful. The food, and service were all perfection! Cant wait to return!
Truly exceptional, but I would expect nothing less give the cost
The BEST meal!!!
The best restaurant in the NYC area. Impeccable service, astonishing food.
I went to Nicholas for the New Year’s Eve price fix dinner. I had asked to be seated in the main dining room but alas I was put in the side room. The price fix was overpriced. I had the foie gras appetizer which was delicious but a confused presentation . I chose the suckling pig for my main course. I was disappointed. The dessert was good.
