Food was great, service was on point. Friendly and attentive
Outstanding food and friendly, professional service. Gourmet but not stuffy.
We were really looking forward to our meal on a Saturday night at Nicholas. The bar area was lively and we should have probably stayed there. We were not aware that it was a required multi course meal (either 3 or 5-6 courses.) in the main dining area. It looks like a bad wedding banquet space. Several of the choices of appetizers and entrees required an additional $15-$20. My husband and I both chose the 3 course meals. My salad was fairly basic and I enjoyed it. My lobster entree was very small but also undercooked and couldn’t really eat it. The dessert was just awful. We oredered the same chocolate dish and our first bites went into our napkins. It had a gelatin consistency. The service, however, was excellent! We each had one cocktail and one glass of wine and the meal was $320.00. We will never go there again.
Nicholas needs to lose his Restaraunt license! He needs to learn how to treat his clients! You would think that a restaurant owner /chef might know how to treat his clients? WRONG!!!
We were with a party of 6, and were completely humiliated by Nicholas himself. Downright rude individual. Do not waste your time here!! Never again.
We've been to Nicholas many times and always welcomed with impeccably prepared works of art that also double as meals. To be honest, I would not classify the fare as "meals" but rather a culinary experience. The staff and service is unequalled in the industry and add to the experience. Best place to enjoy date night, group event, etc. the only recommendation I have is that it would be a nice touch if the restaurant would host a BYOW once a month or so, even with a corkage fee.
Keep up the good work.
Everything was great
Would recommend to everyone
We went there for my husbands 60 th birthday/ party of 7. The fillet I had was the best I ever had. We all had a great time- service and good were excellent. It was noisy, but we r the ones who caused it?
Inventive and delicious food. Wonderful service. Very attentive Maitre’d who oversaw the dining room to ensure top execution. The decor drew our interest in that it was imaginative, artful, and an excellent combination of brilliant color against a tableau of gray. This is a dining experience not to be missed.
We came here to celebrate a huge business achievement. We did the tasting menu and paired it with the wine tasting. Everything we had was delicious and the service was outstanding. We will definitely be returning!
Everything is exceptional so in the nitties of picks, disappointed we were given directions to the restroom instead of escorted.
Best Restaurant in Monmouth and Ocean counties hands down.
Food was excellent as usual, but service was not as good as usual.
We came here for New Years Eve and my birthday! I’ve been to Nicolas quite a few times! It just gets better and better each time! So creative, so amazingly delicious! Nicolas and his staff are masters! I can honestly say this is the absolute best restaurant in the state of NJ!!! There is no better Restaraunt!!!
Great service with amazing food options makes the price a little more enjoyable. $450 for family of four without any alcohol. Merry Christmas to Mr Nicholas and his family 🎁
A great place to celebrate any special occasion. Food and service are always spectacular!
My husbands birthday. We loved our dinner
One of our favorites! Always amazing!
Nice ambiance, impeccable service. Food was delicious, perfectly prepared, perfectly served
Birthday and expecting wonderful time as always!
We celebrated our office Christmas Dinner at Restaurant Nicholas last week. The food was excellent and so was the service. The layers of flavors in the food was very unique and delicious. I will be back for my husbands birthday in January!
This was our first visit to Nicholas and we enjoyed our dinner very much. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very comfortable and cozy. The staff was very friendly and attentive and helpful with the menu. Highly recommend Nicholas.
We have been going to Restaurant Nicholas for our special occasions for the last 11 years. Chef Nicholas and his culinary team never disappoint! From the fresh cocktails to the master crafted cuisine and the impeccable service, we’ve enjoy ourselves time and time again. It’s a must do. Bon appetite!
Everything was fabulous! From the time we walked through the door to the time we left our experience was top notch! Very attentive staff.
Careful when adding on wine pairings... It's an additional charge to the meal, not a new price... We obviously misread the menu.... 6 course is $95, wine selection is an additional $125! (One person = $220)😳 we were surprised when the bill arrived, but still, everything was fabulous!!! Neham ( I hope that's correct) is excellent! True asset to your staff
Highly recommend the Chef's table. It is an experience you will never forget. We went for dinner in the regular dining room to celebrate our first anniversary tonight and it was just as memorable. Always a pleasurable experience here.
Wonderful service and food quality was what we had expected. Loved it all!!!
Our first time here and was on our list to try. The reviews were so good that we wanted to find out what the fuss was all about. We tried the 5 course tasting menu with wince paring for a birthday dinner.
And the food and wine lived up to the reviews. Delicious...pricy but delicious.
Amazing Restaurant, food was outstanding as well as the
Food was excellent. Service was impeccable.
My wife and I both were very satisfied.
Food and service always great
Long overdo for a dining room overhaul/revamp the red carpet chairs window treatments ugly chandelier has to go
Everything was good. The food was great. The price was high as I left hungry after doing the six course tasting.
After 18 years, this venerable fine dining establishment continues to woo me ! The elegant interior design is over shadowed only by the elegant dishes presented to diners. It has been close to 15 years since my last dining experience and I must say that it will not be very long before I return. The team of Melissa & Nicholas Harary has not lost any of the passion necessary in making this restaurant of their's a destination not to be missed. The 5 course tasting menu with the "Nicholas" wine pairing selections were in perfect harmony. The service was attentive, but allowed the table the space to enjoy each course and chat during the evening (4 hour seating). Overall, Nicholas has endured over time and continues to be a premier fine dining experience in the country and most definitely the "best", New Jersey has to offer. BELLISSIMA !!!!
I haven't been to Nicholas in a while and I was so looking forward to the tasting menu. Scallops, salmon and suckling pig were excellent. The other courses were only ok. I had the New Fashioned cocktail which was so great last time, but now was only mediocre. It was still a great overall experience but I wish the quality was more consistent throughout. It was a nice touch that they added a "happy anniversary" on our dessert plates.
Exceptional tasting menu! Service was wonderful. A special touch with their attention to detail.
The service was deplorable. We were one of only two tables seated in the main dining area. Our primary waiter couldn’t be bothered with our table. He was more interested in whatever private event was being held that evening and the bar crowd. Restaurant Nicholas is simply phoning it in. Ver, very disappointing but I’m sure the Middletown and surrounding blue-haired crowd will continue to go there and drop their big bucks. The food, ..., equally bleh.
Perfect from start to finish!
Was wonderful, as always. It’s great to be pampered!
The food is still very good after many years in business. It’s a bit pretentious but not overly.
Very well prepared food. Good service We have the special 4 course. Drinks were good Went there years ago for anniversary so we figured we would try it again.
