My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed dining at Merlot. The service was exceptional. The food was original and creative and our waiters were attentive and thoughtful. The ambience was calm and conducive to good conversation. A lovely place to have a special meal.

Beautiful restaurant overlooking the winery but everything else what a let down. First of all no welcome- just asked our booking name, then came the menu. We were expecting a full menu but instead we were offered a choice of 3 or 4 options for each course for a set price. Unfortunately this was not explained so we sat there wondering what’s going on. Which such limited choice I chose the scallops that were 1cm big. Tasted lovely but that’s not what I expect with fresh scallops. Wagu main was tiny portion but flavour was good. Throughout the dinner , service was dull and robotic . Limited wine by glass options & waiter had no knowledge of prices. We enjoyed our evening but for these prices we were disappointed but then we received our cheese platter. Omg it looked like a kindergarten child had put it together. Tiny offerings again with no variety and poor presentation on a bread & butter plate.

Impeccable service, hospitality and food by the team at Restaurant Merlot. Highly recommend to those wanting an enjoyable experience - can't wait to go back again!

We had great expectations but were disappointed. Usually we can’t choose what to order as we like the sound of all the dishes. This time we struggled to decide. Meals were pleasant but not special. Except the side of crispy potatoes, they were spectacular! We had planned to dine here twice during our stay but made other arrangements to the second dinner.

Cocktails at the bar before dinner were lovely. Menu had lots of lovely choices and a couple of sides. We both enjoyed the flavors of our beef and lamb and portion sizes just right. Beautiful presentation and wait staff helpful. We would highly recommend this restaurant for a couple or a larger group.

The dinner menu options were too limited. The entree quail was crumbed and was more like KFC than quail. Our mains were served immediately after the entree dishes were cleared and seemed to have been cooked immediately our full order was submitted. My steak was barely warm whilst the kipler potato and mushrooms were cold. My wife couldn't cut the barramundi skin which was rubbery. We decided to cancel our reservation for the following evening.

We ate twice at Merlot for dinner; the first time all was very good. However the second time both my wife and my mail courses were very poor. Slow cooked lamb shoulder was dry and very chewy; my medium rare steak first turned up blue and then when recooked was chewy and barely edible. Staff were very apologetic and removed the charge from the bill. Such a shame.
