Great food, unusual dishes. Don't go for a quick bite before another event; dining at Lorene's IS the evening outing. Relax, be patient, enjoy.
We have been there for Taco Tuesday’s on many occasions. Food, service were always good, at reasonable price. We arrived on Tuesday again to learn that there is no more taco Tuesday’s. We ordered off the current menu and prices were very high and the food was below standard. We will not return.
excellent food and service. This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but the chef is skilled and prompt. Service was great. Small but wonderful
Flavors were excellent! Everything was really fresh, but the meat in our dish (3 of us had it) was so overcooked that we had a hard time chewing it. We also waited an annoyingly long time for our food. Salads took 1 hour to be delivered and then food another 45 minutes after that. We had no wait for our table, got dessert to go because of how late it was, and walked out just shy of 3 hours.
Wonderful restaurant. Creative twist on southern classics. Food was fresh and delicious!
This was our second time eating at Restaurant Lorene. The first visit was excellent, so we made a point to go back on our anniversary and brought another couple. Reservation was at 7pm. We were seated at 8:15. We had been before and knew the service was slow but the food made up for it. This time the service was extremely slow and the food did not hold up to our previous experience. Disappointing all around.
What can I say....never disappointing. Love it! Always consistent and the margaritas 🥃 are wonderful!
Fantastic food with fresh local ingredients. Far better than most places I’ve been to in Atlanta.
Once again had the pleasure of dining at Restaurant Loraine in Young Harris, Ga. This, from scratch, farm to table jewel would be a top flight restaurant if placed in any setting or city. The fact that the owners, Keri and Cory have chosen our neck of the woods to ply their scrumptious trade is most gratifying. From the cocktails ( my favorite, an Old Fashion) to desert, all presentations are done with an attention to the quality use of local products seldom seen.
Drop by or call for a reservation, you will not be disappointed. I have included a picture of the late summer menu that is due to change fairly soon as entrees are dictated by seasonal crops and prices at about $20.00. Yum!
Great meal. Their “small plates” were huge! Everything is made to order so not a place for in n out. Worth the wait for sure! Will definitely go again! Fabulous chef from New Orleans! Very talented!
We have been hearing all about Taco Tuesday for a long time...did not disappoint!
Lorenes was a pleasant surprise.
Food was impeccable and service was perfect.
We had the pepper special as an appetizer and the trout . The trout was so expertly prepared! Best I may have ever had. Covered with beans/ microgreens and a delicious sauce.
Our go to place whenever we visit our daughter in Young Harris, Ga.
we are never disappointed. fantastic food and service.
Food was excellent. The steaks had a large amount of chimichurri sauce, which we loved. The pasta with ground sausage had a kick to it, and was a large portion. Someone else in our group had the shrimp and grits and loved it.
Food was incredible! Everyone we went with said it’s the best meal they had in quite a long time. Met owner and chef - good team passionate about their food and showing you a good time! Definitely recommend!!
My friend and I we're visiting Hiawassee and heard about this restaurant, so we have it a try and came back for a second time! The food is SO good (especially the pimento cheese dip) and the atmosphere is wonderful! Definitely a place to try out!
This place is fantastic. Great food, service, and ambiance. My wife and I stopped here while visiting Young Harris. The owner was very friendly and she talked to us for a little while and seemed sincere. We dine in Chicago regularly and this place definitely could compete with the wonderful food we have there.
A must visit if you are in North GA/Western NC area. Make reservations for Taco Tuesday, and you will not be disappointed. We live in Atlanta and have a lot of restaurants to choose from, but if we could, we would eat at Restaurant Lorene every week. The attention to culinary detail is incredible: fantastic flavors, delightful presentation, and creative pairings. I recommend the kimchi fish taco, corn slathered in goodness, and a medium-rare steak with freshly harvested chanterelles. Drinks are served incredibly cold. Ten out of ten.
The food here is consistently different, with a plethora of flavors & sooo tasty. Every time we have visitors this is our favorite place to take them. They are blown away by this little gem in North Georgia. The service is friendly and super knowledgeable about all the dishes.
Adorably small but the nice outdoors patio helps with more seating.
If you want to be inside, reservations are a must!
First time visit and loved it. We will be back. Great Mai Tai! I am not vegetarian but wanted either the wheatberry veggie dish or the sausage pasta. I ended up with the veggie because my husband got the pasta. Both were fantastic and we happily consumed the cornbread appetizer as well. Can't wait to go back!
We went for Taco Tuesday! They have a small menu with 4 - 6 Taco options, black beans/rice and Mexican corn on the cob. Everything is fresh and very balanced! You will not be disappointed! I cannot forget about their kick you butt Margaritas! Yummy!!!
