Great food and presentation. Service below expectations.
As always Restaurant L was exceptional from being seated by RIchard, one of the owners, to the
impeccable waitstaff, to the extraordinary cuisine, to the attention to detail with special occasions, to a visit to the table while dining and after by both Chef Jean Robert and also Richard Brown. While the menu
does not dedicated to gluten free or vegan, Chef Jean Robert can cater to anyone's needs with the delightful seasonal items they bring to their kitchen!! The lobster salad was over the top delish as was EVERYTHING we ordered!!! The palate cleansing celery juice with pomegranate sorbet was just perfect! We are making reservations for Valentine's Day!!
Restaurant L is the epitome of excellent cuisine, service and atmosphere with a modern, seasonal, French flair. We are so lucky to have Chef Jean Robert and team here in Cincinnati. A must for any fine food and wine devotee.
excellent service in spacious room, quiet , fixed price menu. two courses were enough to eat
Everything about the experience, food, ambiance was perfect
I wish I could dine at L every night
Restaurant L is like nothing else. I have learned to have unshakable trust that anything I order there will be wonderful!
Great meal, wine pairings and excellent service
A most excellent experience . The food and service were impeccable . The lunch was amazing!
The Lobster Bisque , is something you have to experience . Bon Appetit!
This continues to be one of our favorite restaurants in Cincinnati. The food and the service are both amazing!
I have wanted to try Restaurant L for quite some time and it completely exceeded my expectations. The food was remarkable - we did the 9 course menu and everything was cohesive and delicious. The service was great as well, and we even got to shake hands with Jean-Robert, the chef. I highly recommend for any special occasion.
The very best Cincinnati has to offer. Impeccable service (wait staff with personality plus) and exquisite food pairings ... from appetizer to dessert !! The champagne and wine selections were perfect :) Caught up with a dear friend and enjoyed the evening immensely. Would recommend better signage in the parking parking garage for the ‘first-timers’
Outstanding restaurant, wonderful food and ambience. There is no where else in Cincinnati like it!
We enjoyed the personalized attention of the waiter. The food presentation was superb.
Absolutely stunning classical French cuisine in a beautiful atmosphere. Had the Menu Gourmand with wine pairings. It may be expensive but it's worth it.
We celebrated our 20th anniversary at Restaurant L and it was lovely. We don't do "fine dining" that often but everyone made us feel very welcome, the food was superb, and it made for a special evening. Definitely worth the money!
Wonderful evening. Amazing food and atmosphere. Excellent service. Nothing was missing. Cannot improve on a thing. 5
Stars worthy in every category!
I would list this restaurant as the best in Cincinnati. By in large our favorite for fine dining. It’s a total dining experience
The Best of the Best ... The food is outstanding!!
Great Drinks and Great FOOD !!
Wonderful Dining Experience
The entire Staff has so much Talent
WE LOVED IT
First time but certainly not the last time! Highly recommend; awesome experience!
My husband and I went for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. We went all out and did the six course Gourmand menu with wine pairing. It was amazing, which is an understatement- One of the best meals I've ever eaten. I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried food I've never eaten knowing I was in the hands of an amazing chef. I was nervous, but in the end there was nothing to be nervous about- the meal delicious, the wine pairing complimenting each course and everything prepared perfectly. I was educated and thrilled! This was truly an experience everyone should try!
A great experience to combine with a concert that followed the meal.
Service has really declined since the last few times we visited. Courses were rushed and entrees weren’t even described when served. Had to ask for bread. Food was cold.
Upon arrival we were greeted quickly by staff that were not only friendly they were excited to meet us.
Dining room was eloquently decorated and the way tables were arranged made it feel intimate. Hard to say what was better the food or the service as both were 10 out of 10...
Price points are high but worth every dollar. Great way to celebrate my 65 birthday-we will return.
Restaurant L continues to provide the best service, food, and wine in the city for those who truly enjoy the fine dining experience. The dining room is elegant and enchanting. The sweetbreads, foie gras chaude, and venison are delicious. I was the first to try this autumn's venison preparation and it was exceptionally tender and taste worthy. Their combinations, presentations and wine pairings are culinary artistry.
It was our anniversary. Loved the ambiance and the service was impeccable. The food was as expected- awesome! It was an unforgettable experience. Definitely a must to visit. Richard did a great job creating a comfortable atmosphere to dine.
Perfect for a very special occasion. In our case if was an anniversary. For the money, I'll probably go somewhere else next time, but the experience is unsurpassed and we had a great time.
The food was excellent and the service impeccable. I highly recommend L for special occasions or for just an excellent meal in a beautiful setting.
Food and service were fantastic. Really impressed my wife for our 8 year anniversary.
Have been here multiple times. Food, service, ambiance, perfect. Never a miss.
THE outstanding restaurant in Cincinnati.
Overall the food and service were good. We just wished the flavor of the rabbit was more prominent. Although good, if we had not know it was rabbit, we would have thought it was very juicy deep fried turkey breast or chicken.
Went for lunch at this restaurant. Great atmosphere and impeccable service. Food was very good, specifically the burger, Chicken breast sandwich, foie gras, and shrimps. The duck confit was good but a little overpowered by the vinaigrette and salty. Overall, very good. Would definitely recommend, order the duck confit with vinaigrette on the side though. And last but not least the creen brûlée was excellent!
Please improve the wine pairings... Service was impressive , Mike was amazing... sauces are very repetitive and flavors are forgettable. Place has a very high bar and did not meet it as far as food is related
Highlight was the potato leak soup and the pre-dessert cucumber sorbet drink. Overall, work in progress.
The best in Cincinnati. L is as good as Paris at half the Price.
Wednesday evening's visit to L is one of the best dining experiences I have ever had! Period. I can't stop talking about it and I feel that I should be dining there every night! While a trip to L is so special, an evening there is an amazing value at every level. The experience, the food....flavor combinations, the likes of which most people have never tasted, the service, the wine is beyond great! The decor is elegant but friendly and the music celebrates the whimsy and lightness of the chef himself! the perfect evening!
I feel that L is, sadly, one of the best kept culinary secrets in the country. This place is worth every nickel, every time!
Outstanding as always! Amazing presentation, interesting and delicious ingredient combination in a beautiful setting. Great place to celebrate!
This restaurant has some of the most inventive and delicious cuisine in the city. I love the quiet, cozy, intimate setting. The main dining room is small and elegant. The food presentation is amazing and the flavors are worth returning for again and again.
I highly recommend Restaurant L for the quality of food, service and ambience. We arrived about 20 minutes early and were seated immediately. Service is not rushed--it can be even leisurely--which is appropriate for the venue. We opted for the 2-course prix fixe dinner without the wine pairing. The amuse bouche, with its slight sweetness and a touch of creme fraiche, was a welcome opening, and both the lobster salad and watercress soup were a delight, with the distinctive flavors shining through. Equally excellent were the Duck (with blackberries, fennel, radishes, beets, farro and ginger duck jus providing a wonderful array of flavor) and the Filet mignon (the haricots verts, nebrodini mushrooms and bordelaise, yielded a wonderful medley of flavors. The selection of sweets, which I regret I cannot recite, were sufficient enough for a dessert without overloading us with sugar (the homemade marshmallow was quite a discovery!). We selected our own wine, but if doubts arise the sommelier directs diners to the appropriate bottle (and without skewing to the highest prices on wine list). All in all this return experience was superb, and we will be back.
Exceptional food and service! We can’t wait to come back!
Definitely for those who can appreciate and taste a big step up! The suggested wine to accompany the cuisine was just super. You also need to be prepared for the formality of gentle and social grace. From the minute you arrive, shown your table, etc. Alex and the supportive wait staff were so very helpful and made the evening great. Thank you L.
Stuffy, snobby, old fashioned, way over priced. Food was fair. The servers were poorly and overly choreographed. I will not be going again. Could not get bread to our table for 20 minutes. Sorry to be forward, but I’m saving you a lot of money.
