Restaurant L Ratings and Reviews
Outstanding both food and service. Amazing people all the staff. A great place to celebrate a special occasion, like our 31st Wedding Anniversary. And as an unexpected bonus, own parking in downtown, in-door (it was 28F outside!) at just few yards from the restaurant. We had a great time and I highly recommend it.
My first visit to Restaurant L was a perfect evening with my sister and my brother-in-law on Black Friday. My expectations were high going into the evening and they were exceeded. It was just perfect. So, I took my mom for lunch three weeks later. Again, the food, the ambiance, and the service were EXCELLENT. Not One Complaint! I wish I could provide constructive criticism, but it was perfect. Just perfect.
Our three course meal was outstanding. Four of us dined and together we had nearly half the available selections. I can't really point to one item that stood apart from the rest, all were inventive and well executed. If you twisted my arm to complain, I'd say that the small size of the filet made it not worth the upcharge. A very nice wine list with plenty of mid-range alternatives. Don't worry about dessert if you get the prix fixe option, a tasty assortment of sweets is included.
To me, our waiter crossed that line between helpful/friendly and chatty, but I may just be a curmedgeon. Otherwise, the service was outstanding.
The dining room was elegant, but not fussy and perfect for the fine dining experience. My only real complaint about the whole evening was the atmosphere of the bar area. The brightness of the lighting and excessive number of ho-hum table linens, made it feel more like a casual lunch restaurant than someplace to get a drink before or after an expensive dinner.
One last note, valet parking (which wasn't offered when we were there) isn't really needed given the ease of the parking in the tower lot.
Had our 30th anniv. At L. Easy parking, beautiful restaurant, amazing food and service. We had the 3 course with wine pairings, highly recommended. A couple of surprise plates were served as well.
This is one of only a couple Cincinnati restaurants at this level of food and service.
I'm very glad we could experience it, and I'm sure we will be back.
Finally a restaurant where you can "DINE" in peace and quietness and were the food and service are outstanding. You are not rushed. The tables are far apart. The service is like a smooth ballet. Nobody is hovering over you, but there is always somebody close by if you need them. One of the best, if not the best in Southern Ohio.
The food was great but I felt a little avoided. I took my mom there so it was two women. I didn't get offered a purse "seat". When jean Robert came out at the end of the evening he stopped at every table besides mine and just in general picked up on a bit of a weird vibe. Other than that it was incredible. But def wouldn't reco it to female only diners, which seems silly.
Our food was exceptional, commencing with the salad and ending with the spectacular plate with an array of desserts. Our entrees were all cooked perfectly and delicious. The bread was warm and tasty. The service was impeccable with every attention to detail. The ambiance and decor are the best in the city. Overall it was a very special cuisine experience and I highly recommend it.
It is a beautiful setting and the staff is attentive, maybe a little stiff. The food was well prepared and very good flavor overall. Some dishes miss a little and you are envious of what your friend ordered. This is a picky detail but the rim of one of our wine glasses was dirty. It can happen, but in a weeknight especially there should be time to wipe each wine glass rim clean before servin
The space is quietly elegant, from the tabletop to the tree sculpture in the center of the room. Service is exceptional.
And the food... exquisitely prepared and presented. The wine pairings are very generous and fairly priced.
And there are lots of complimentary goodies too!
This is a class act and should definitely be on your destination list.
Outstanding!!! The service, ambience and attention to detail were all five star, but the food quality and taste were the real winners! Not only was this the best meal my husband and I have had in Cincinnati, but it is one of the best meals we have ever had anywhere ( including NYC and Paris). The wine pairings were also thoughtful and definitely worth the $40 extra. Just go... you’ll love it! Looking so very forward to our next meal here!
