We dined at L for the first time this week. It was wonderful. I really loved the door effect. Fun first to watch others entering, and then it was our turn. The tables/banquets are nicely spaced so enjoying the ambiance, the tree for sure, and the walls, can be done without intruding on someones else's space.
Our server was great, efficient, attentive, explained wines and menu.
And each of the five courses :) of the three course prix fixe were delicious. My husband went straight seafood, while I started with the mushroom tart, followed by ravioli, and then arctic char. I often order by sides rather than the main feature, and each of these selections and lovely sides. We were quite full by the time the dessert assortment arrives, but we persevered. The banana choice was my favorite.
We also had the wine pairing, again 5 elections, not 3. Some I enjoyed more than others, but it was nice to try some new varieties.
Will look forward to a return dinner here.
The atmosphere was lovely. The food and wine pairings were perfect.
When we want to go out for a special occasion and truly enjoy a quiet, relaxing evening we go to Restaurant L. The food is spectacular and the service impeccable. Alex has served us on two occasions and delighted us. He is friendly and attentive, never overbearing. For my wife and me he’s just the right kind of waiter. He notices when we need attention, anticipates our needs and otherwise leaves us alone to enjoy ourselves. He knows us and recognizes us with a welcoming smile.
Restaurant L is the only place in town that serves food of this caliber. Correctly portioned, beautifully presented and deliciously prepared. I had the lobster salad to start with Arctic char to follow. My wife had a mushroom tart first and then the filet mignon. The desserts were a bite size variety of delicacies chosen by the chef.
This is the premiere Cincinnati restaurant for fine dining. The prices are reasonable for what one is getting -- an upscale, gourmet dining experience with first class service.
Had a wonderful evening with my wife for her birthday. The food was amazing and we were able to try some dishes we had never had before. I would especially recommend the Wild Boar and the Monkfish, which were delicious and perfectly prepared. The only thing better than the food was the service. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and always on point with everything. It was extremely expensive, but like anything else, you get what you pay for. Really enjoyed it!!
Disappointed. Waitor was terrible. We had to ask for a desert menu and he looked at us like we had horns. Made no suggestions. Didn't know what flavors on hand.
The food was excellent. I loved the lobster salad. And the dessert was beautifully presented and tasted fabulous. I would go back.
Richard Brown made our experience memorable and fun!!
Great restaurant; however, I took my mother to dinner, so the two seat couches were a bit strange. Would have enjoyed more if there was a 2 seat table with two chairs. Otherwise, everything was exceptional.
Terrific time enjoying good food and wine celebrating a special birthday.
Enjoyed every minute of this evening beginning with the friendly welcome and walk to our table. Elegant atmosphere, but comfortable. The prix fixe menu offered the opportunity to try new things -- all delicious. Thanks to Richard for making our night special. Great place to celebrate a special occasion.
The Tasting Menu was much enjoyed by our table. The food and service were excellent and the restaurant is lovely. Can't wait to go back again!
A special experience for the Cincinnati area-highly recommend!
Excellent best in Cincy!
This was our first visit to Restaurant L. Food and service were outstanding. We will definitely go back soon.
Most delightful experience - food, service, ambiance - all second to none
Even a few years on, Restaurant L continues to pack a powerful punch with fresh and, in some cases, unique ingredients; outstanding, attentive, but non-fussy service; and masterful craftsmanship. While the restaurant is definitely worth a special occasion, I often remark that I should eat there more often; and for no other reason than enjoying a fantastic meal at a fantastic price point.
Simply wonderful. Such an amazing experience for our entire family. If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend it.
Excellent all round, the service was second to none.
The food was incredible, nothing over flavoured and everything complimenting the other ingredients.
Presentation was beautiful.
The portions were not huge but I left full and satisfied.
From the moment we walked in the door of Restaurant L the service was amazing.
A time to get dressed up and enjoy the wonderful food and decor.
Richard Brown is the great host.
Finally we have a fitting replacement for the maze Annette I think that our the restaurant out is absolutely beautiful with a gourmet food and I can’t think of anything that could make it any better thank you
I took a business colleague for lunch and Restaurant L did not disappoint. The attentive service, fabulous food, and the elegant environs made for a perfect dining experience. I look forward to returning again soon!
Tasting menu was beautifully prepared and presented, and well-paced for a relaxing special lunch for two.
Best in town. Best in state.
Not cheap, but a good value compared to restaurants of similar quality in other cities.
I have eaten here 3 times and each time my group was treated as if we were the only people that mattered in the restaurant. The owners are there and the staff is attentive . It is everything you would expect from a great restaurant excellent food, service and ambiance
We had an amazing evening at Restaurant L, celebrating our two year anniversary. The service was impeccable and the food was perfectly prepared.
It was great. Will return.
Love this place. Excellent, creative food. Wine pairings were perfect.

After finishing our deserts and then enjoying some coffee, Chef Jean-Robert stopped at our table. He was very casual, personable, and open. He genuinely wanted to know about our food experience. This made our day.
As always, absolutely marvelous. The ambiance, the food and the service is extraordinary. Richard Brown is the perfect manager of the room. A restaurant experience not to be missed. It is simply outstanding!!!!
We had a wonderful family meal in the Lounge, where you can order a la carte. The options are delicious and at a good-size portion for a person to enjoy multiple and not feel uncomfortable.
We took my mother in law for her 80th Birthday. This was an evening she will cherish forever. We did the three course with wine paring. Everything was perfect
Splendid, classy, outstanding...highly recommended.
The most beautiful restaurant with the most beautiful Food in Cincinnati.
Wonderful ambience in a beautiful setting. A little disappointed that halibut was listed as a menu item on the website but was not on the dinner menu. Normally fresh baked bread options are frequently offered but we had to ask. But our overall experience in this world class restaurant was great. Our group was delighted with our meals as usual and also as usual we felt welcomed by Richard and Jean-Robert’
