Restaurant Hibiscus is situated in the stunning Billiards Room located at the neo-classical mansion Delapré Abbey. The Abbey was built by the 2nd Earl of Northampton in 1145 and after a £6.3 million pound restoration in 2016, Delapré opened its doors to the public for the first time in 900 years. We truly believe this is a stunning venue to set the scene for the best dining experience in Northampton. Our dining room follows suit to the rest of the Abbey, high ceilings, natural light and attention to detail in the woodwork shows the true craftsmanship that went into designing such an elegant room. This is also reflected in our dishes. Executive Chef Samuel Squires fronts the kitchen designing food that is truly fitting to our surroundings. Using high quality produce combined with raw talent Hibiscus serves up modern British gastronomy with a traditional French flair. One that is not to be missed.

Superb tasting menu with accompanying wines. Expensive but worth it for a very special treat. On darker nights the lighting from car park to entrance needs improving. Staff were all very professional and attentive - perhaps a tad over-attentive at times, but overall, the restaurant is highly recommended.

Really enjoyed it. Ordered the 7 course tasting menu, most of them were really nice, a few was standard but still nice, just the odd one I was a little disappointed with... but overall, it was very nice. Service was great too, very professional, but they didn't top up my water towards the end when the restaurant was getting busier. Definitely like to go back again though.

It was our first time and they had no long opened in this location. The car parking is a little walk from the restaurant and the last part of the walk was unlit, which could be problematical in any cold and windy conditions in the winter evenings. Our Host was excellent and the food was very good. The lighting is a bit bright for a romantic evening and the decor was without many wall hangings, so a little stark. I understood this was because the Landlord , the local Council, would not permit anything on the walls of this listed building. Ken Bowden

Great atmosphere, food out of this world. Everything you expect from a fine dining experience, from a warm welcome to the chef coming to talk to us at the end of our meal. We chose the wine pairing and were not disappointed.

The restaurant was poorly signed. Although we had the Taster menu the food actually lacked taste and was poorly seasoned. The canapes were poor. The salmon course bland. The fish with lobster foam so overcooked it was almost inedible. The terrine was dry and the dessert poor. I was going to complain but my wife urged me not to so as not spoil anyone else's enjoyment. However I have told my friends and colleagues not to waste their time or money on this restaurant. I wont be returning.
