Carte Blanche is the new leader of Montreal’s Bistronomie trend and is now a BRING YOUR OWN WINE establishment.
Lunch is bistro style with a pre-fixed menu at unbeatable value. The chef and owner (elected 2010 Chef of the Year by the Society of Chefs) will welcome you in the evening with a more elaborate selection of fine cuisine.
All is served in a contemporary decor (finalist at the 2006 Creativity Montreal Design contest) and relaxing atmosphere.
Carte Blanche is ideal for romantic diners as well as business meetings. The restaurant can also be reserved for cocktails, happenings, group lunch or dinner.

J’étais venu dans le passé en groupe avec mon travail, et j’avais adoré ! Nous somme revenus mon chum et moi avant d’aller voir un spectacle et WOW ! Nous avons bien fait. J’ai pu essayer les croquettes de canards (qui était pas dans le menu, donc belle découverte) , tartare de kangourou en plat principal :)

Tout était parfait, ainsi que le service de Philippe A1
Nous avons hâte de revenir

L’occasion était le réveillon de Noël. Le site internet consulté mentionnait un menu spécial 4 services à 55$ Or, c’était 3 services à 59$. L’entrée de foi gras était bonne. L’assiette principale tellement salée qu’on y goûtait rien, en plus d’être monotone (viande grasse sur purée de pomme de terre blanche, aucun légume). Le dessert, style petite bûchette achetée à l’épicerie était tellement sucrée qu’elle ne laissait passer aucun goût en plus d’avoir des textures de carton et gélatine insipide. Vraiment décevant comme expérience!

Petit réveillon avec ma mère âgée. J’avais avisé et on nous a donnée une table parfaite, avec un bon dégagement pour que ma mère
Puisse aller au petit coin sans difficulté. C’est une qualité indéniable. La serveuse était bien attentionnée et le repas très très bon (un choui trop salé). Nous nous sommes régalés! Et c’était bien digeste, signe d’une nourriture de qualité. Carte blanche, est maintenant notre go to place pour les petites et grandes occasions!

Enfin un resto apporter votre vin haut de gamme.et les portions sont plus que généreuses. Pour le réveillon l'entrée de foie gras à elle seule valait le déplacement ainsi que la buchette au désert qui fondait dans la bouche même si normalement je n'aime pas la mousse. Nourriture comparable au bonapare minus l'addition élevée. Resto sans prétention mais le goût au rendez-vous. Serveur très amical.

This is really a great discovery. The menu offers a combination of classic French fare and new creations that are equally delicious. My husband finally found really good French onion soup here after disappointment in Quebec City and Boston. Their crime brûlée foie gras has the taste of foie gras but texture of Creme brûlée and the toast with cranberry really goes well with it. I had wild boar stew with tagliatelle for main dish. It was really tasty, and a very generous serving. I had enough leftover for lunch and the chef added more meat to my doggie bag, so nice. My husband had duck confit with wild mushrooms. Both presentation and taste are excellent. The service was also very good.

Le service était terrible. On a été obligés de demander qu'on nois apporte du pain, après la bisque. On ne nous a pas servi notre vin, comme l'autre serveur fesait sur ses tables. Nous avons été obligé de demander pour un "sceau" à vin. Et pour finir on a oublié de jous servir le désert.
Donc le service était vraiment mauvais.

La nourriture était cependant excellente

Overall a very nice place. It is a BYOB(so bring your own wine!)We started with the Foie Gras, which was excellent. Richard did the salad, again excellent. For mains I had the Salmon. This was very good, however the piece of Salmon was a bit small. The pasta that came with it helped fill me up. Richard did the braised Lamb shank, which he found to be excellent. Overall a nice meal. We'd recommend Carte Blanche again.

La nourriture était bonne, mais le sanglier du plat principal était très coriace, beaucoup trop cuit. D'entrée de jeu, la serveuse a renversé notre bouteille de champagne... Disons que ça commençait plutôt mal. Elle était plutôt maladroite et semblait peu expérimentée. Expérience globalement un peu décevante. Dommage, car nos visites précédentes avait été très agréables.

Enjoy this small restaurant. excellent food. We started with a fresh baguette and butter. I had scallops ceviche with mango and it was excellent. with lots of different flavors. My date had salmon tartar. Then I had Parmentier de canard and my date - braised lamb shank which was very tender. the desserts were excellent as well. Décor, ambience and service were very good and the fact that you can bring your own wine was a deal breaker. I would definitely recommend this restaurant !

We booked a table for 13 people on a Friday night (this was not my first visit, having been there for 1 large event and a dinner for 4). Overall, the food was excellent (I had the braised lamb and tried the bavette - both excellent, as was the panna cotta and fondant desert) and the restaurant was very accommodating. However, they seemed understaffed with several tables over 8 people (only 2 servers) and we had an hour between courses, which is way too long. It was difficult to get anyone's attention and we all had to be up early the next morning, so having to wait so long for our courses was very inconvenient. It was also very warm (nearly 30 degrees outside that day) and they had the windows open - so we had to ask them to put on their ceiling fans, but it was too late. They should have anticipated the discomfort and had the AC and the fans on...it was a full house. So our experience was a bit uneven this time; I think they did not plan well for such a busy night (but I recommend it for a quieter night with a smaller group - the food is excellent and the service, when they give it to you, is very solid).

25 ème anniversaire de mariage avec les enfants.

Nous avons tous pris des plats différents et avons adoré chacun. Seul hic, le poissons au menu n'ont laissé d'autre option à mon épouse que de prendre une bavette. Soit la préparation (pesto) soit le type de poisson ne lui a pas amené à en commander .

Le mini-burger au foie gras poché est succulent, le tartare de saumon et le tartare de kangourou aussi.

Le service, les texture et la cuisson sont impeccable et les tables sont bien espacées.

The service was very good! The food however was not the best, at least for the meat. I ordered the last serving of venison and ordered it to be prepared rare and it came to me well done. I requested something else since it was clearly over done and decided to try the lamb. The lamb chops arrived and they were also well done and had more fat on them than meat. It was very disappointing.

Original et bien présente. Service chaleureux on a aimé notre souper même si la serveuse peut parfois en avoir beaucoup à gérer, c'est toujours charmant et avec le sourire. Excellent rapport qualité prix. J'y retournerai avec plaisir!

L agneau était trop saignant. Le risotto pas crémeux. Le fromage pas frais.
Le dessert au chocolat excellent. Le burger au foie poêle excellent ainsi que
la pieuvre. Dommage pour les plats principaux pas vraiment chaud en plus.

We have been at the Carte Blanche for the third time;and the food is excellent et very
generous plate; the personnel is very sympatic and helpfull. You can bring your own wine, which is a big plus. Do not hesitate, you will be very satisfy. It is so delicious.
