We looked forward to our dinner and our expectations was high based on Open Table score of 4+. But it was disappointment all round. Worse tandoori and curry we ever had. Indian food is all about spice. But food was super bland. Service slow and disorganised. Bill was wrongly added over charging by £14.00. Once pointed out it was corrected but with no real apology. Our experience will make us think twice before placing any reliance on Open Table ratings and probably not use Open Table for future bookings.

The Restaurant missed the booking on the App and at first denied we had a booking. Had to admit their error when I showed them the App. Service was incredibly slow and it took two and half hours before we got our main courses. Some dishes were stone cold and were refused. Probably the worst dining experience ever. So sad used to be a decent restaurant but just can’t handle Friday night of a test match.

Pleasant modern restaurant, nicely served meals, a step up from the usual curry house in terms of presentation. Food perhaps a little over sweet, but, generally very well prepared. I tend to prefer the more "tradtional" Indian restaurants, but if you are looking for a more modern, lighter experience, this will fit the bill.

Lovely position overlooking the canal. We had a table by the window which was open on a sunny evening. The restaurant is so well furnished with a lovely ambience very clean and comfortable. The waiters were very pleasant and just chatty enough to make us feel very welcome. We were delighted with our meal both the starters and main course. It wad all very tasty and well spiced without being overly hot which suited me. I am sure if you liked hotter meals they would have obliged. The menu was vety varied with dishes I had never seen before. Will deffinately be returnibg and have already recommended to friends.

Perfect place for dinner. Food is amazing one of the best Indian food we ever had. Location is perfect with canal view. Staff is very helpfull and friendly. Really good dinner experience.

The food was awful - we ordered chicken balti - the chicken was blantantly stale and poorly made. Worse decisions we have made! Will not be going there again!

Great meal on New Years Eve. Restaurant was busy but relatively tranquil. Good spot for people watching on Broad Street. Food was very good and the service was excellent.

Good views of the Canal. Food was good, especially enjoyed the pickles with the poppadums. Staff were courteous and attentive without being in your face. Price was good. Would go again if I was in the area.

Although I live near Cambridge I have been dining at the Barajee for the past 12 years when ever in Birmingham for work. It didn't matter if I am dining alone or with others, the service is always very friendly and efficient. The food is in my view first class. The menu is also reasonably priced. Enjoy.

Booked in for a bite after a show, as did half the people at the show so the restaurant was very busy very quickly and they coped perfectly. Great service (bit slow) and fabulous food. Will definately be going back.

Attended recently for a business team meeting as a party of 9. Initial impressions on booking were good as a telephone call was received to confirm the booking when it was made and also a follow up on the day. We arrived on time for a 1945 meal start and it took over 20 mins to be asked for drinks,30 mins for our order to be taken and an hour for starters to appear. The main meal took overt 2 hours to arrive. The table was clearly too small for all of us and we asked for an alternative table or one to be added and this didn't seem to be appreciated as reasonable by the waiter or manager. The room was busy but not too busy for the kitchen or staff to accommodate the number of diners there. The food was as expected for an Indian restaurant in Birmingham and of reasonable quality but nothing special. There are many places to go to in Birmingham centre around this area and the reflection of my colleagues who went was its almost there in terms of quality of food but the service needs a good look at.

We went after a Symphony Hall concert, arriving at 10.00. Although it was late we did not feel at any time that we were being hurried. There was a noisy group at one end but we were given a table well away from them overlooking the canal. The service was excellent, the food good, with some dishes which were new to us. It was nicely spiced though not perhaps as hot (chilli hot) as we might have liked - it was a cold evening! Very convenient for the concert hall and very reasonably priced for its location.

If visiting here you must book in advance as it gets extremely busy. Went here on Sat night n arrived early for our booked table by around 20 mins. We did ask the staff member if the table would be ready n he advised us one moment, we were at this point deciding to pop to bar next door n come back at the relevant time. For the next ten mins it was hard to get anyone's attention n then we were handed drinks menu, by this time it was too late to go anywhere else. We were seen to our seats at the booked time n then our drinks order was taken, I asked for a large rose but a medium arrived?? When mentioned this to the staff member he just smiled at me?? The starter n main came in an orderly fashion. I had prawn puri which was nice but not spicy enough. And for the main I had veg balti, which was tasty but didn't have much assortment of vegetables, I could only see potatoes, onions in there which was a shame. Upon paying, my friend n I split the bill, I paid by card n she paid by cash, she didn't have the exact money n we soon realised the staff member wasn't going to return with the change. Overall the experience was very average, it's a shame really as I was holding out for a good experience considering some of the previous reviews n how busy the place was.
