The stunning combination of flavors felt like art in my mouth. From the Beet inspired cocktail to the crawfish pie and the soft shell crab.

The food was exquisite, inventive, and beautifully prepared. Since I was in New Orleans, I chose seafood for the appetizer and the main course. The appetizer was described as a shrimp étouffée but individual pieces came wrapped like a dumplings, which were paper thin and delicious. For the main course, I chose flounder, which was accompanied by the most delicate, slightly lemony, Bearnaise sauce.
Everytime my husband and I go to New Orleans, we always plan to have a special dinner at August. We have never been disappointed. The food and service could not be beat!! Would highly recommend!

Excellent food, beautiful atmosphere. Not cheap, but if you want to go all out in New Orleans, this is one of the top tier choices.
We went to August on our wedding night as our special dinner together! The food was excellent and the Chef even came out with an extra special treat for us once he knew we had gotten married that day. Our desserts came out with "congratulations" written on them with a glass of champagne, so the whole team definitely made our day even more special!
We split a sunchoke salad. My hubby had oysters he said were best ever. I had very interesting cauliflower curry soup - ate every bite. All that paired w a delish Chardonnay. We split the “Dirty Cake” an amazing array of ice cream, mousse, caramel and chocolate. Fantastic.
The food was excellent, the beef I had was tender and succulent. My wife's fish was perfect for her pallet. The service was spot on, helpful and very friendly. I would recommend and more importantly we would go there again!

The meal was rushed from the moment we sat down. Unfortunately the food was not very good either; my meal was not warm and was difficult to eat. Even my cocktail was watered down with way too much ice. We were really disappointed compared with our last visit several years ago.
Great service as always. We visit annually from out of town but they treat us like regulars every time! Delicious seared scallops. The shrimp “etouffe” was fantastic as always. The pork was amazing. Favorite restaurant. Tried the gnicchi with blue crab and truffle parmesan sauce. Everything was perfect. Wines are a bit overpriced. Paid $155 for a bottle of chablis and paid $85 for the same wine exact vintage the next night at another excellent restaurant down the street.

We split an order of the Louisiana crawfish & crab ravigote which was exquisite. I had the flounder and my wife had the soft shell crab. Both were very well prepared and delicious. But even more special than the food was the attentive service. If you like fine dining and excellent service, this is a restaurant you must try. We certainly will come back.

Restaurant August has no equal in New Orleans for fine Cajun/Creole inspired French cuisine. My dinner partner took ill so I went it alone. This potentially awkward situation was handle perfectly with classy discretion. Had an incredible three course meal (crawfish/crab salad, lamb loin and PX ice cream with almond cake, whip cream and praline crunch) and was done in 40 minutes.
Went for our 27th anniversary and they. Are it special. Food and atmosphere were perfect. Can’t wait to go again.
Prefect luncheon birthday- have not visited in three years - from Ca.- still as fine as ever. Always make a special trip to August.

As my husband said, if we could turn the rating up to 11, we would. The food was wonderful, especially the foie gras and the lamb entree. The mint was perfect. Robert provided top notch service and gave us detailed explanations about the food and a great wine recommendation. He went above and beyond. So very appreciated!!

Interesting and tasty compositions of dishes (traditional, with new touches); quite small portions.
Unfortunately we were bothered though the meal with fruit flies. The manager said that they sometimes find their way in "because of the weather" but the weather was cool and they were the only fruit flies we experienced that entire week in many restaurants.
Be prepared to be rushed through your meal if you have an early seating, as we did. Though we were happy to leave anyway because of the fruit flies.

I visit New Orleans yearly to enjoy the music and great food. I have visited all of the top restaurants in town, and August remains the best restaurant in New Orleans in my view.
