At Restaurant August, our Upstairs Private Dining Room can seat 100 or 120 for a reception style event. The Chef's Tasting Room can seat 12 and features a customized Chef's Tasting Menu. Wines can be paired by our sommelier for a more unique experience. Buyouts are also available for up to 300.

My wife and I celebrated Valentine's Day at August and one word describes the experience - OUTSTANDING !! Every item on the menu was tempting. However, my duck breast was the best I've ever had. And although the portion seems to be average sized when served - I was stuffed upon finishing it. My wife had the diver scallops (3) and again was stuffed upon finishing it and the sides. The best thing about the restaurant is the service. CLASSIC NEW ORLEANS ! A wine or water glass was kept filled at always the appropriate time. Anything you needed seemed to be anticipated by the staff. Plus, everyone was very knowledgeable. The sommelier was great. We had a flight of Madeira and were not disappointed since it was from a special Portuguese producer from which this vintage is no longer available. A large amount of it was purchased by Restaurant August and won't last forever. Although it was an expensive dinner, it was well worth it. Don't hesitate to celebrate special occasions here. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED !!

Always a treat to dine at August. Their take on New Orleans dishes like the shrimp “etouffe” that was done with Asian type dumplings is always wonderful. Service is impeccable and the food quality and presentation is top notch.

August was by far one of the best meals my fiancé and I have had. The meal, the wine, the ambiance, the staff... it was truly an incredible experience. They went to great lengths to ensure that each portion of the meal was executed perfectly. We had the degustation menu with sommelier pairings and it could not have been better. We will be coming back again.

We had a terrific meal at August. The food, service and ambience were top notch.
The Shrimp Tagliolini and the Red Shrimp Ravigote starters were exceptional . Delicate flavors
and presentation. The entrees , Almondine Scallops and the Wagyu Ribeye exceeded our expectations. And, our Pear and Riesling Sorbet was a perfect ending. Great service by Lawson and Lisa! We wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful restaurant.

One of the few restaurants I'd booked through Open Table that I was able to keep during the busy Mardi Gras season-so glad I did. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Food was top notch along with impeccable service- friendly without being stuffy. The building is gorgeous New Orleans. We began our our meal with cocktails-a beet cocktail for me, an old-fashion for him, followed by Foie Gras Three ways. I had the flounder with crab topped with a smooth, velvet Bearnaise sauce and my husband had the was to die for! We shared a bottle of delightful Proseco to top of our anniversary occasion. I would enjoy anything here. August is worth the time and money to celebrate an anniversary OR just to meet with friends in New Orleans. Hope to enjoy again soon.

During Mardi Gras it is a great location. Just feel it is over priced and menu too eclectic. Feel it should have their take on some items most can eat.

This is my first time ever leaving a negative response on Open Table. Our experience with the woman sommelier, who was so very incredibly rude to us, made the whole evening miserable. I would like to note that all of the other wait staff especially our waitress was attentive and the service was wonderful for our table.

Probably a bad time year to go for noise, Thursday before Mardi Gras and while the food was good was good and the service excellent the menu was just appealing as on other visits.

August had been our favorite restaurant in NOLA for the last few years. We were sadly disappointed in our meal on Thursday. The Maitre' D informed us multiple times we were under a time constraint of and that he needed the table by a certain time. 3 of our 4 appetizers were very nice the chopped salad and the fried oysters, my wife had the Fois Gras 3 ways was sent it back. 3 of the 4 Entrees were poor. One steak we sent back for over cooking and the next steak was under cooked. My duck was no good, poor flavor and bland. The pork dish was good. My wife ate about 1/3 of hers as it was over cooked as well. Wine list is good, and Erin the Somm is wonderful. However we will now look for a new favorite.

We traveled to New Orleans for our 36th wedding anniversary. When we made the reservation they asked if we were celebrating anything, we told them we were. No special arrangements were made because of that so why ask?? I ordered the steak, which happened to be one of their most expensive menu options. Therefore I was expecting over the top delicious! I ordered it cooked medium well, just added not red but pink in the center. It came out mostly red in the center. I just decided not to comment on that. Once I cut and had my first bite, it was so tough I was afraid to swallow. I got my husband to try to make sure it wasn’t just me. He agreed to tough to eat! We told our server, he suggested other menu options. I informed him, if it’s one of your most poplar choices let’s try again! He said it was cooked too long, I would need to go with medium. I said ok. My husband in the mean time was enjoying his fish dish. He had completely finished his entree when they brought mine out. No apologies were made. Never once did Anyone In management come over to offer apologies or any thing else. The second steak was cooked rare!! I ate as much as I could. It was better than the first. They had the audacity to bring out a dessert menu , never offering a complimentary dessert. By this point I was so frustrated that we said no thank you. They brought our bill. No deductions or adjustments were offered or made. My husband and I basically ate our meals individually instead of enjoying it together. That’s what you want on your anniversary. We will not go back!! Too many wonderful options in the city. I’m disappointed in trip advisor with the high ratings that this restaurant was given.

We have eaten here before and it was much better. Overall our food was good. Appetizers were very good...we had the Gnocchi and the Shrimp Eoutefee. Disappointed there were no specials the night we were there. Wife had the Flounder Ponchatrain and said it was pretty good. I had the grouper. The grouper was way over cooked and very dry which pretty much killed the dish for me. Service was a bit slow and somewhat inattentive. Our wine glasses sat empty for very long periods of time. Understandable if they were very busy but that was not the case at all. This was our 2nd time great and one not so great. We may give it one more try next year when we are back in town and hopefully it will be a better outcome.
