   Overall, not bad. Different experience to when I was here a few years ago. I also think the forgot the fruit sorbet course in our chef tasting menu. Previously, when I would do the chefs tasting menu with wine, they would describe the wine and discuss how it chosen for the dish. Would still recommend/some of the best food in the city and an intimate spot to enjoy by yourself or with another.

   August was an excellent dining experience! Excellent food and service from start to finish. They should provide valet parking service. Nonetheless, I would would return my every trip to New Orleans!

   This was my second visit here. The first was a few years ago and was great so I wanted to take my husband for our anniversary. We did the tasting menu with the wine pairing. We were there for an hour before our first pairing was poured. I noticed the sommelier was giving a lot of attention to other tables, but she only poured our first glass and we never saw here the rest of the night. The first few courses were delicious. The crawfish tart was a little spicy for me but my husband said it was great for him. The next 3 courses were mediocre and lacking flavor, mostly salt. The lamb had many tough tendons that we could not chew. I also found a bone in my fish. We had already finished our last savory dish before the wine pairing was even poured. The 2 desserts were great. Someone came and poured our last pairing but never said what it was and just walked away. We spent over $500 and did not feel it was worth it.

   My husband and I did the tasting menu for our anniversary dinner, and we were not disappointed. Wow. What an absolute treat. Compliments to the chef, because I was blown away by the flavors of each course! Everything was spot on. Every server we encountered was fabulous as well. A must do if you want fine dining in New Orleans.

    Beautiful establishment, very romantic setting. Restaurant August was excellent, great place to celebrate our 41st Anniversary. The black and blue gnocchi - blue crab and truffle was delicious. Our snapper and grouper entrees were cooked perfectly. We will definitely return the next time we visit Nola!

    Have come back repetitively over the years and have always been very satisfied with the excellent service and meals. I don't see the vegetarian prix fixe that used to be offered (which was always superb), but the tasting menu remains incredibly yummy.

    Located in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Restaurant August is a culinary gem that promises a memorable dining experience. Recently, I had the pleasure of indulging in their Chef's Tasting Menu, paired with exquisite wines, and it was an extraordinary gastronomic journey. The meal commenced with a delightful spoon bread accompanied by Tralian osetra caviar and crème fraîche. The combination of the rich, creamy caviar with the comforting spoon bread was a luxurious and flavorful start to the evening. Next on the menu was the crawfish tart featuring asparagus, pecorino cheese, and country ham. This savory tart was a harmonious blend of delicate flavors, with the sweetness of the crawfish complemented by the earthiness of asparagus and the saltiness of the country ham. It was a wonderful balance of textures and tastes. Each course was thoughtfully paired with exquisite wines, and the Champagne Diebolt-Vallois Blanc de Blanc from France added an elegant sparkle to the experience, perfectly complementing the flavors of the early courses. The sunchoke agnolotti, filled with foie gras and truffle, served with house ricotta, was a true highlight. The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the luxurious filling added depth and richness to every bite. Paired with a Roero Arneis from Piedmont, Italy, the wine's crispness and fruity notes beautifully complemented the dish. To cleanse the palate, a refreshing sorbet intermezzo made with seasonal fruit arrived, offering a delightful contrast to the previous courses.     Overpriced, underwhelming....living on its reputation. Too many great restaurants in NOLA, even neighborhood places, to put down $250 for a meal for two (two glasses of wine). Nope, not worth it.

    Restaurant August did not disappoint. Excellent meal! The foie gras appetizer was phenomenal as was the grouper entree. The golden milk mille feuille for dessert was incredible as well. The ambiance is stately and elegant. Still, top 5 restaurant in the city...

    My wife and I visit Nola almost once a month.. and have for some time. We always try a different place every time we go.. this was our first visit to August and WILL NOT be our last!! We both agree that this was our favorite dining experience yet! The food.. (that tuna appetizer!!! 😳😳😳!!!))….service.. ambiance was beyond exceptional!!!     The staff and food at August are phenomenal. We had the best time having our Anniversary/birthday dinner here. They even brought us desert on the house with the best presentation to make our dining experience special. August is a must-do in New Orleans!!     We had the chef’s tasting with the wine pairing and it was fabulous. The staff did a wonderful job of presenting the food, and everything was even more delicious than described. We enjoyed talking to the sommelier about each wine and how it paired with the dishes. Wonderful experience for my husband’s birthday!

    From the bar prior to dinner to our waiter and meal everything was top notch. We loved the seasonal menu offerings. I had the red snapper and my friend had the duck. The snapper was awesome !!

    It was not worth $300. On the positive side, the service was outstanding, the menu was creative, and the presentation superb. The gnocchi appetizer was excellent, but the fried oysters were chewy, and did not arrive sufficiently hot. The red snapper was decidedly over cooked and dry. The duck was undercooked and very chewy. The wine list was surprisingly sparse. Although the dining area was charming, the noise level interfere with any conversation in a normal tone.  Overall, the restaurant did not live up to it Michelin star reputation.

    The food is always ABSOLUTELY AMAZING at August. Unfortunately, our experience this visit was tainted by a server who must have been having a bad day. Apparently she had a table of customers that upset her, but unfortunately she decided to take it out on the rest of the room. Hopefully next time we'll have a better experience.
