The food at Restaurant 213 is far from your conventional Chesapeake Bay fare. A former apprentice of Roger Vergé in southern France, chef Jim Hughes prepares unpretentious, globally influenced cuisine inspired by the area’s plentiful ingredients. Chef Hughes has catered many events for Ronald Reagan, while he was President of the United States. He also served as Chef for the King of Saudi Arabia at the Saudi Arabian Royal National Guard military academy. Chef Hughes has been honored by the James Beard foundation and DiRoNA (Distinguished Restaurants of North America). Restaurant 213 has been voted "Best Gourmet Dining," "Best Special Occasion," restaurant and "Best Chef on the Eastern Shore" by Metropolitan Magazine. Frommer's Travel Guide has Awarded Restaurant 213 its highest Rating of 3 Stars, making it one of only 3 restaurants on the Eastern Shore. Additionally, "Special Finds" awarded this distinction from 2010-2014 in their Maryland & Delaware Travel Guide Edition.

Extremely high profit margin on wine. I buy bottles of La Crema all the time for 22.00 a bottle and they charge 70.00. Too much. The food was great. The chairs were cheap auditorium style chairs with a cover on them. The wait staff was very attentive. For a Saturday night there were only 3 other couples there. The food was amazing but expect to drop 200.00 on dinner.

Fine dining on the shore is hard to find and Restuarant 213 hits that catgeory! We've been here before and as with the first time, consistency is there. The ambiance, a great bottle of wine and excellent meal prepared by Chef Jim Huges made our night! Well worth the visit if you enjoy a quality meal and don't forget to save room for "Breakfast".

This establishment continues to offer wonderfully prepared food in spite of the economic challenges they must be facing. Fine dining, apparently a dying art, still can be found at 213.

We come to Easton yearly for the waterfowl festival. We come a day early to stay in Fruitland, md. (Right out of Salisbury) just to eat at this special place! Jim Hughes, the chef/owner of 213 is a most talented chef, he was chef in the Reagan White House!!!! You won't be disappointed! Hubs had lobster in butter, I had shrimp and grits, YUMMY!!!

Tonight was our second visit and it was a poor experience. Crabcakes were cold, when redone they were raw and lacked any crab. But to us the worst part was that the chef/owner would not come out and talk to us about all that was going on, and intended to still charge for inedible food. Left a very bad taste, thats for sure.....

We enjoyed our visit. Food, service, and ambiance were all excellent. There was nothing not to like except the price ... $43 for a single entree is extremely high by any standard.
