   Unfortunately this was a great let down very different to the website that showed properly laid tables with snowy table linen.. service was slow and an unlaid bare table was very unwelcoming there were only 3 other tables in the dining room that were occupied food was poor and i would say the food i had was a re-heated brought in meal the pizzas that our guests ordered looked like Dr OEtker ready frozen in all very disappointing for us and our guests and also expensive i would not recommend

   The food and teas were great, what one would expect from afternoon tea. However, the restaurant had no ambience. There was no white tablecloth and afternoon tea feeling in the restaurant. We were sat on pub style tables and chairs. We were sat next to the only other booking in the restaurant which was a group of loud individuals that were having a business meeting and who I at first thought were management staff from the hotel. The music, although lovely, did not suit the music needed for a relaxing afternoon tea. There was only one waitress on duty who when we arrived, who greeted us in a way to say they were not expecting us despite pre-booking. The waitress was not around to help us with our requests and we had to wait some time for her to return to get the bill.

   Disappointing Afternoon Tea in a Beautiful but Empty Venue I recently visited [Restaurant Name] for afternoon tea as a gift to a friend, and unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. While the venue itself is beautiful, it was eerily quiet—we were the only ones there for most of the afternoon, with just one other table occupied later on. The biggest letdown was the tea. The first pot we received was incredibly weak, like dishwater, as there simply weren’t enough tea leaves. Hoping for better, I requested a second pot of Gingerbread Man tea, but the server brought the wrong tea leaves, resulting in a bland ginger tea that was just as weak as the first. The food was mediocre at best. The sandwiches were acceptable, but the scones were hard and didn’t seem freshly made that day. For an establishment offering afternoon tea, I expected much better quality. Additionally, coffee was never offered, which would have been a welcome alternative given the disappointing tea. Overall, while the setting was lovely and the company was enjoyable, the afternoon tea experience itself was one of the poorest I’ve had. With better attention to quality and service, this place could be great, but as it stands, I wouldn’t rush back.

   The room we were in was pleasant and as there were only 2 tables of people having afternoon tea it was quiet in there, so easy to chat. The service was good - very pleasant people. The food and selection was good - nothing spectacular but all very tasty, and we were given boxes to take away anything we couldn't finish. The only thing that would mark it down for us was they we were not offered a top-up of tea. We would probably have been given it if we had asked, but other venues offer it without you having to ask.

   Their premium afternoon tea is advertised at £35 online they they gave us a menu and it was £40 on there. Slow to serve, got charged for one persons hot chocolate as they didn’t drink tea/coffee that came with the food ( even though our server told us we would not be charged) took 15 minutes to come. bread was dry on the sandwich’s, scones where like bricks on the outside. You dont get unlimited tea/coffee like most places that do afternoon tea and you dont get extra sandwiches either. Despite two managers around not one of them asked if our food was nice or would we like another drink.

   When we got there they turned us away even though we had proof on email of a booking for an afternoon tea .

   Hugely disappointed by our recent visit for sunday lunch. Clearly this charming old building has been taken on by amatures. The food on offer was so basic, stuff that anyone could throw together from the freezer, the only thing on offer that was decent was steak which anyone can cook, so bad I doubt they have an actual chef. On a Sunday shortly before Christmas, we were surprised to pull in to the car park and be the ONLY customers, should have taken this as a sign from the beginning. the menu was very limited and the service very slow. The staff were still clearing up from the night before, the place was still strewn with empty glasses etc. we got our food which was just about edible, and other customers started to arrive, but we noticed, they were ALL having afternoon tea. by the time we left the place was full of people just having afternoon tea, it was a really bizarre experience. we will not be returning, and it was heart breaking to see how bad this once thriving place is now - please do not go there unless you want a scone and a cup of tea!!!

   We had a lovely experience at The Manor for Afternoon Tea. The food was delicious and you could change the sandwiches you did not want for more of others you did want. Nothing was too much trouble. The scones and cakes were yummy and we got a box to take away anything we could not finish. The atmosphere was so nice as all the Christmas decorations were up. Eleanor serving us was so helpful and made the experience even better. Thank you.
