Most creative meal I have ever had and the best service I have ever experienced. Thank Reserve team!
Ambience and service was excellent.
The food was extremely average. Similar quality to most mid range Scottsdale restaurants. If the tab had been $250 per couple, this would have been appropriate for the quality of food. Our tab was $1200 per couple (before tip). A night out at Steak 44, Ocean Club, Elements etc with terrific food and ambience will run us $250-300 or so per couple. You can have 4-5 awesome dinners at a place like Elements for the price of 1 dinner at Reserve.
If they want to charge $285 per person for the menu, the food quality needs to get much much much better. Reserve is charging Binkley’s’ and French Laundry prices but the food is nowhere near the quality and taste of the comparable price point restaurants.
Wonderful chef tasting menu. Very romantic atmosphere. The service reminded me of a Michelin star restaurant. I really enjoyed my experience and will definitely be back next time I'm in Scottsdale. The somaliere was very friendly and knowledgeable. This place is a hidden gem!
Fabulous food, service, and ambiance. There’s no restaurant in the state that surpasses this one.
Highly recommend for a special occasion! We were there to celebrate a "big" birthday. Based on previous reviews, we had very high expectations - we were not disappointed. The Chef and wait staff were remarkable. Food was some of the best we've ever had. Already planning on our next special occasion at Reserve!
Superb dining experience and one of the finest restaurants not just in Scottsdale, but the entire Southwest! The intimate setting affords elegance, and each course presents a delightful experience for the senses. Exceptional staff and excellent service to cater to your every wish.
Reserve exceeded all of my expectations. Being from Chicago I am very familiar with fine dining and have dined at numerous Michelin starred restaurants. In my humble opinion Reserve sets the standard for fine dining in Scottsdale. Chef Benjamin Wald is talented beyond his years and a rising star on the Scottsdale culinary stage. We were dazzled by one course after another of the finest ingredients perfectly prepared and in some cases, presented by Chef Wald himself. Chef does not try to overwhelm with too many flavors but instead lets the ingredients speak for themselves with perfect preparation and stunning presentation. I cannot stress enough that you have not dined at Scottsdale’s best restaurant until you have visited Reserve. Our evening was unforgettable and we can’t wait to return.
My partner and I had been to Monarch Cafe previously and were excited to try Reserve. Needless to say, we had high expectations based on that experience and with the price tag. Reserve was fantastic. The food was amazing. It was the single best dining experience I've ever had. I will absolutely be back again.
A wonderful culinary, wine and service experience. Beautifully orchestrated by talented staff at every turn.
Tip of the hat to the entire staff for an unforgettable dining experience. Incredible chef inspired cuisine combining exquisite flavors with artistic excellence. A perfect way to celebrate a special evening.
Beautiful atmosphere, excellent service, amazing food!!
I loved the experience, and appreciate we now have an option like this in the Phoenix area. The food was outstanding and the whole experience was totally worthwhile. The price tag is high so therefore any comment/criticism muy be adjusted for the high expectations that follow.
The positives - the quality and originality was there and superb. The dishes were delicious and creative. The mix of flavors was masterful. Service is excellent and everyone is there to make sure your experience os superb. Our server was a 3 star sommelier, and very knowledgeable. The environment is superb and everything is designed to enhance your experience. I would be happy to come back.
Minor points for enhancement. The menu is build around superb ingredients, but perhaps focusing more on the skills and combinations, rather than on the quality of the ingredients alone (which were superb). In other words, not all beef products have to be Wagyu. Also the 12 courses were very vast and perhaps one less item in the meats would be ok.
People will feel safer in an environment like this since the seating is outdoors and they only seat 8 tables. The table is yours for the night. This is all good in the time of COVID, but of course you will have to be willing to subsidize this space.
In short, I loved the experience, will recommend and will be happy to come back, and look forward to the evolution of the cuisine.
Reserve is a premier restaurant experience with Napa Valley level cuisine and more than a dozen courses of artistically presented and uniquely flavored dishes. Similar in that respect to some of the other restaurants in Scottsdale catering to this very high culinary experience, Reserve wraps a small team of servers around you at least enough to cover every food delivery, cleanup, utensil replacement, and hot lavender infused towels in between. Unlike its more famous sister Cafe Monarch, Reserve is situated in the original Monarch location dwelling which is more uniquely charming and romantic. The experience also begins with them sitting you in a private living room first for appetizers and drinks and then graduating you to the main dining patio. Each plate vessel is uniquely beautiful as well as was the odd shaped wine decanter. The patio is one of most gorgeous decors in Arizona, taking its cue from great Mediterranean restaurants in Italy or France. Reserve is a special occasion type of place with limited seating. Reservations in advance are necessary. This is not a get a lot of food for money type of place or a place for someone who gets sticker shock. If that is your mindset, there are other restaurants in the neighborhood for you that have very good food at more reasonable prices. If you however want the highest culinary experience in this part of the southwest, then Reserve is on your bucket list.
The food is incredible, creative yet approachable - and, of course, delicious. The service is outstanding. And it's a lovely, cozy location.
Wonderful experience for our 10 year anniversary. Of course this is an exceptional dining event and all 12 courses were delicious and adventerous. The portions were just right but my wife started to fade after about the first 8 courses! No problem though because the staff was happy to prep the course for us to take home and enjoy the next day. This is a very expensive restaurant, so may be a once in a lifetime experience but well worth the price to celebrate a special occasion with that special someone.
Across the board, this place is on another level.
Incredible experience! Staff was great and meal was outstanding! My wife and I were extremely pleased.
This was an amazing and beautiful dining experience. Great for a romantic date out, and the food is next level!
Absolutely loved it! Romantic, unique, special, memorable. An ideal place for a special occasion. Highly recommend!
Outstanding experience, costly but outstanding!
This was simply the most romantic restaurant fine dining experience to date. Everything was perfect from the fresh roses at our table, soft lighting, music to dance by, delicious flavors, with exceptional service. Every table setting was even plated at the perfect temperature. Literally, every detail was flawless!
The whole experience was outstanding. Felt completely safe. Outdoor patio, plenty of heaters. No other diners close to us. All of the servers were exceptional, especially sommelier Juliette who was amazing. She listened carefully to us and brought wine that perfectly fit our tastes. My husband loved talking to her about all the wines. We’ve been to many of the top restaurants in the world, but we feel so lucky to have Reserve close to us. If you are lucky enough to have the capability to eat here, it is 110% worth it. Can’t wait to go back. Cheers to Chefs, servers and kitchen staff.
We went for our 39th anniversary. We are serious foodies and this was an experience to treasure. We have eaten many fine meals at many fine locations, but this was another level. 12 courses with wine pairings took all night but we never noticed. The sommelier was outstanding. Her excitement about where each wine came from was infectious. I can't think of a better venue for a romance!
I booked this for my anniversary and was wonderfully surprised at how amazing this restaurant was. The food was beyond delicious . The staff and owner, Christian, were welcoming and attentive. We did not go without. The ambiance was beautiful. I could not have asked for a better evening. Thanks for making my anniversary one for the books. We will be back for Valentine’s Day.
This is the best dinner in the state of Arizona. By far.
Everyone deserves a dining experience like this at least once in their lifetime.
Let the Reserve staff treat you to a truly memorable evening.
The restaraunt is definitely the best dining experience in the area. From the moment you walk in until the time you depart, it is excellent in all realms.
As other reviews have stated, it is expensive but one should know that well before their arrival. It is a place to strongly consider for a special celebration.
We went for our birthday, The food was outstanding, and service was average however we definitely got conned by the waiter for the wine. He kept suggesting wine that was ‘appropriate’ for our meal we only had 2 glasses but the total bill came to $900 for 2 people. I understand this place is classy but beware because the waiter will try to up charged you with the wine. Would not recommend honestly. I wish I never went.
The ambiance was lovely, service impeccable and down-to-earth. The food was excellent and the presentation artful and creative. The wine pairings were interesting and very compatible with the dishes. We enjoyed a lovely evening celebrating my husband’s 71st birthday.
Absolutely amazing experience - food, ambiance, staff. Incredible!
Ansolutely phenomenal experience from beginning to end. Highly recommend for your special occassion or for any sophisticated foodie with a few dollars to spend.
Our main server was outstanding. I can’t recall her name. But she was a female and she used to live in Italy. A young girl with dark hair. Anyway she was wonderful!!
The food was outstanding, and the service was excellent. A wonderful experience.
Very expensive for the portion sizes. Combined with the wine pairing, a two person dinner is over $1200.00. Yes twelve hundred. The food was great. But, I'm sorry not 1200 dollars great.
We're very excited to have experienced what should be a Michelin starred restaurant. It was five times better than our "star" experience in Carmel and the food was up to par with our "multistar" experiences in Paris and elsewhere. Reserve is unpretentious but each course had fabulous flavors, presentation and ingredients. What I considered a special treat was an underlying "comfort food" component that put a dose of love into each dish. The portions, especially the meats-lamb, duck and Wagyu striploin, short rib, were also perfect and we left extremely sated but not uncomfortable. However I must confess I could have eaten an entire plate or two of the Pain Perdu with King Crab and white truffle and another full plate of Corn pudding with Lobster. The olfactory touches also set this experience apart with surprises like trapped aromatic smoke hidden under a dish. We chose not to do the wine pairings as we prefer to choose our own. I enjoyed a fabulous brut cava and my husband enjoyed a wonderful Bordeaux. Their version of a whiskey sour was also a fabulous way to start in the lounge. The servers where all special, knowledgable, professional, yet wonderfully friendly. If a gourmet foodie experience scares you, Reserve is the perfect place to start as you will not be served one dish where you say "what the heck was that!" but will be amazed by the creativity and flavors of foods you may never have enjoyed this way before. We can't wait to return and are thrilled to have it in our city!
Excellent, and probably the best fine dining experience in Scottsdale next to its sister Cafe Monarch. A Michelin 1 star experience, the young chef is still coming into his own in terms of flavors and profiles. The sommelier was a notch above, providing an extraordinary pairing experience that was inventive, determined and accurate. While some dishes miss, the corn soup was transcendent, truly. We eat at the best restaurants the world over, and though this was a humble dish it was simply out of this world. Well done.
Amazing experience. Staff was engaging and focused on us the entire night. Food was exceptional start to finish. We had two people with some restrictions and they accommodated them every step of the way with a high level of class and sophistication. Not your everyday restaurant because of the price point but this is a must for a special occasion. We will be back for sure!
This is a great experience. You can expect the highest level of food, drink and service in Arizona. The ambience is over the top and I only counted 8 tables. While the service was excellent and prompt, somehow we were having such a good time, we spent over five hours for dinner. Time flew for all of us.
Come hungry and bring a fat wallet. You don't get this level of pampering on the cheap.
Amazing restaurant! It exceeded our expectations. The wine pairing is an added bonus and makes every dish that much better!! We will be back!!!
