The conversation at the table next to us was so loud we could hardly carry on our own conversation. The service was marginal. The quality of the food for the price charged was absurd. We could have gone to a Capital Grill & paid a few dollars more for a higher quality meal. The buffet was very average. The Brioche French Toast was yummy!
This is my all time favorite brunch spot. My husband and I brought our mothers for mother’s day and they saw exactly why it’s my favorite spot. Thanks to Judy for absolutely AMAZING service. She was so great, attentive, social and omg I just can’t say enough about her for you’ll to get a true understanding of how exceptional she was. Loved her!! Thanks again for making another special occasion so great!!
We went on mother's day so I think the brunch was not the normal brunch. It was really good but in my opinion it was a little over priced. 4 people and 6 drinks with 20% tip was almost 300 bucks. Little pricey for a brunch. I would go back just not on a hallmark holiday.
The place looks great and staff was friendly and helpful. Cocktails were excellent and the best thing we had was the loaded blonde desert...maybe the best dessert I’ve had in a long while. The band, Ron Gutierrez Trio, was awesome and we’ll likely return to hear them and indulge in more desserts.
The food was not so good. I ordered the butcher choice 10oz strip steak and it was woefully thin (1/2”) and sadly over cooked to medium well (I ordered medium rare. My buddy ordered the same thing and his was also over cooked by two levels. For the price ($50ish) I would expect a higher quality steak cooked to the order. I sent it back and got a new steak that was cooked perfectly but they quality of the cut didn’t measure up to the cost.
All in all a decent overall experience but that had nothing to do with my entree.
Waiter at restaurant would walk pass and ignore our table. We would have to call his name to get him to provide us service. Once the food came to the table the steak was missing gravy/butter and waiter later brought it out then brought and left it up to me to complete. Terrible service for a restaurant that looking to charge those prices. I wouldn’t suggest this place to anyone I know.
I was not expecting this restaurant to be inside a hotel and at first we could not find someone to seat us. Our server was nice but he was overworked for how many people were dining, so we had to wait quite a while to order and to get our food. The food was nothing special and the pancake was actually burnt and we had to ask for a replacement. I have a feeling there is a lot of sloppy work in the kitchen. I will not be back, which is a shame because the hotel seems really cool.
Service was okay, but very slow. My Waldorf salad was brought out on a warm plate so the spinach was wilted and the apples were brown. Not impressed overall.
The tomato bisque was really gross, on top of the gross flavor, it lacked salt. The soup was not put on our bill because the wrong soup at first was brought out. The watery garlic sauce that came on the homemade noodles that my date had would not adhere to the noodles and had way too much salt. I spent over $100 on the meal, and my date did not enjoy her food enough for it to justify the $100 bill. Our server was very kind and we did not want to talk about the horrible food. My lamb chops were fine. So was my apple martini.
Disappointed, wasted money.
Excellent place to eat. Quiet friendly staff very service oriented.
Everything we ate on the Easter buffet was really delicious. The cupcakes on the dessert table were gigantic and decadent!
We had Easter breakfast at Reserve with my family. Our server was very sweet and efficient. Our food was OK. Most all the egg dishes were severely over-cooked. I think the cooks were busy setting out the buffet food. Overall experience was fine; the ambience is much better suited to an evening meal.
Friendly servers, great atmosphere, and a free birthday dessert?! What else could you ask you?!
Excellent food and service. Price was reasonable for such an elegant place. We will definitely be coming back. The lamb chops were great as was my wife’s salmon dish.
I took my husband here for this 28th birthday and he and I both loved it!!!! The greeting of the valet attendants was an added unexpected bonus, however, it really set the tone. The ambiance was perfect and quaint. We both enjoyed the dim lighting and overall decor of the establishment. Our food was great, the waitress we had the pleasure of having was simply remarkable!
Dine here, you won't be disappointed.
Our dinner took us two hours and we were pretty much the only party in there. The service was very slow and the food was average.
Very good casual dinner/drinks spot. Live jazz some nights
We had a lovely meal at Reserve. It's location is convenient if you are attending an event at the Sprint Center or the Kauffman Center. Parking can be an issue, however. I had the Chef's Shrimp dish..the rice and vegetables were wonderful. My husband's fillet was perfectly cooked.
Options were less.
Very good ambiance.
Excellent server, delicious food, loved the asparagus and red wine demi
The wait to get our food took way too long for what we ordered.(brunch) Other than that everything was great. The staff were very friendly and engaging, the ambience was excellent and the food was wonderful once it arrived. I would recommend. I plan to go back!
Management needs to be better prepared for big events in town. It took over an hour to get our breakfast this morning.
There must have been an issue in the kitchen. It took over an hour for me to receive an order of pancakes and scrambled eggs. One diner at the bar ordered toast and even that took over an hour. Multiple tables of diners left due to the wait. It was quite disorganized because the servers didn’t always alert the kitchen when entire tables of diners left. Thus, food would come out eventually and there was no one at the table. I was surprised that the management didn’t discount bills for everyone. Even 10% would have been a nice gesture.
Great evening at The Reserve with friends. Great ambiance and music from Ron G!
Pleasantly surprised. There were a couple menu items I was wanting to try, so we will definitely be back. The menu was nice, food was delicious, atmosphere beautiful. Great music. I wish there were just a few more items on the menu, but overall I enjoyed it very much!
Server was very good just seemed to be very nervous.
This was my first time visiting this place and I was impressed by the atmosphere, customer service and food! Everything was very nice!
Just OK food. Ambiance is nice.
My wife and I enjoyed Reserve for our date and we plan to go back soon!
A nice selection of appetizers and drinks during happy hour that went until 7pm! Our party of four each also ordered an entree. Of the entrees with a protein, all were all at least slightly over cooked - the worst being the pork belly which was burnt to a crisp on the bottom. The over cooked proteins aside, the food was flavorful. Unfortunately, the star of each dish was the sides. I would go back to give it another try, as the environment was perfect for a special occasion or date night.
Food was good, ambiance was excellent! Music was an added plus, really enjoyed the duo. Will come back to hear them! Parking was an issue due to construction in front of the hotel.
Awesome service, Awesome Food. Our new favorite place downtown!!!
Nice atmosphere and good service. Menu was limited, but being a hotel restaurant that can be expected. Happy hour was a great value and their truffle fries are the best I’ve ever had. Good choice for grabbing something to eat before a Sprint Center event. Especially with a parking garage across the street.
Valentine’s Day dinner!
The food and service were excellent. The restaurant was quiet with some light music playing. It is a good place to be able to have a conversation with your date while enjoying dinner.
I have done this review several times but always get hung up after the photos. It does not advance so that I can complete it.
Nice ambiance and wait staff.
Reserve is not much more than a small intimate lounge area of a hotel. The lighting and furniture are nice but the menu is limited. Outside the hotel is trashy. This area has been revitalized with the KCP&L District but the same dirty areas and people remain. Homeless and trash litter the streets and parking garages. On our way up the stairwell in the parking garage there was a lot of litter and a super rank smell. A few stairs up, someone had actually pooped on the stairs, we turned the corner and there were cracked out homeless people occupying the stairwell. Hmmm I wonder who pooped in there? This isn't the restaurant's fault obviously, but if you want to have a nice and somewhat pricey restaurant that brings in higher end customers, the surrounding area should support that. We actually left and went to brunch at Harvey's where there is an actual brunch.
Be aware that complimentary parking is available. Construction in the area has eliminated the previously convenient adjacent parking.
The lunch menu is limited but adequate. Service is quite good.
